      Edit: Further clarification
      Brains can’t comprehend infinity, as both our neurons and atomic sizes of our brains are, by nature of physics, finite. There simply isn’t and never could be enough processing power to understand infinity.
      That’s not really a problem until you try to understand something that requires the ability to understand infinity. Which, if atoms existed before the big bang, is required to understand it. Because if atoms existed before, that means they didn’t just pop up into existence. So then, where do the come from? The most likely answer is… they’ve always been there, and they’ve been doing what’s known as the big bounce theory. It’s a theory that the universe expands outwards for so long before falling back in to one particle, and then exploding back out again in another big bang.

    There is maybe a possible explanation for this. One of the theories about the end of space, is that the gravitation will get stronger than the expansion itself, so the universe will shrink into the "birth point" again. If this is true, it could mean that there is an endless cycle of the big bangs and there isn't really a thing like end or begging. It could all be just an endless cycle of expanding and pulling back the matter itself.

    • @clubamerica98

The temperature dropped by a factor of about 100,000 during inflation, from 1027 K to 1022 K in early models. This relatively low temperature was maintained throughout the inflationary phase.
      Current thinking is that cosmic inflation preceded the hot dense state our universe evolved out of (“the Big Bang”). The rapid expansion of space that inflation drove came to an end, releasing energy into the universe during a period called reheating. Reheating created the super hot, super dense conditions.

      In space nothing is a weird concept because nothing actually is a thing. The void in space where there is no matter or energy (dark and light) still has properties assigned to it.
      The most notable is that is expands, as in it exerts a pressure that pushes all mass away. Extremely small and not detectable whatsoever on a molecular level, but when you get to a galactic scale this expansion can be faster than the speed of light.
      So nothing isn’t actually nothing. Nothing does stuff
      Keep in mind I’m not talking about dark mass or energy, but they could also be considered “nothing” as it’s impossible to directly measure them but they do have an effect on light mass and energy too.

    • @VPshandlewasstolen
      @VPshandlewasstolen ปีที่แล้ว +4

      nothing is not a thing, nothing is the lack of things. think of a vacuum, for example: a vacuum is completely empty space where the only thing that travels is light (however, it is not nothing). now if we remove light and the laws of physics from the vacuum, that's when it becomes absolutely nothing. so, in a way, we can't find nothing in the real world. no matter where in the universe you are, you are always surrounded by something.
      not even before the big bang was there nothing, given that the big bang couldn't just happen out of nowhere.
      as stated by stephen hawking, because of the laws of physics, the universe CAN and WILL create itself from "nothing". in this sentence "nothing" obviously isn't meant literally.
      this leads me to believe that the laws of physics, like time, gravity etc... have always existed, still exist and will always exist, forever.
      TLDR for lazy people: nothing doesn't exist in reality. no matter where you are, you are surrounded by something.

    My favorite theory regarding this concept is The Cyclic Model of the Universe - which essentially theorizes that our Universe operates on an eternal timescale with an infinite Cycle of Big Bangs to Big Bounces/Rips for all eternity. This makes the most sense to me, as it would mean that The Big Bang that spawned our Universe was not the beginning of everything, but rather the latest Big Bang in a never-ending series of cosmic cycles!
    What blows my mind about this theory is that if it the Universe is ultimately an infinite cycle of births and deaths, then it would mean that our current Universe is VASTLY more likely to NOT be the first or last Universe. We exist in this current Universe, but there’s an infinite amount of Universes before and after us, which is something we can’t even begin to fathom. Truly mind-blowing.

    • @MyNameIsSalo
      @MyNameIsSalo ปีที่แล้ว +2

      But how did the first cycle begin?
      This theory doesn’t answer any questions, it doesn’t matter whether this universe is the first cycle or the 1000000th cycle, we cant answer how the cycle started.

    • @RetroEternal
      @RetroEternal ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@MyNameIsSalo that’s the crucial foundation of infinity that we simply can’t comprehend - infinity has no beginning & end. Whether this theory answers this daunting question is irrelevant if it is truly how the Universe functions. This question will likely never be ruled out nor confirmed by mortal creatures.
      The sad truth about this concept is that the true nature of the Universe and how its timescale functions will likely remain an eternal mystery for Humanity, and for any and all sentient organisms throughout the Universe. I don’t foresee how any 3-Dimensional being can solve this mystery, unless they are millions or billions times smarter than Humanity. Who knows - maybe there’s organisms out there somewhere that are vastly more intelligent than us; thus, having the ability to possess the key to the foundational explanation of the true nature of the Universe. It’s fascinating to think about superintelligent beings - ones with lifespans that exist for thousands or millions of years or ones with DNA that are far more advanced than ours. Even their most dimwitted organisms would make Einstein seem like a Chimp. And for them to explain routine general knowledge to us would be like us trying to explain Physics to an Ant.

      The Cyclic Universe Theory, proposed by Neil Turok and Paul Steinhardt (I believe based off of the theories of Roger Penrose) is really interesting to me. I’m not sure sure how plausible it actually is but in lots of ways it made sense when I did in depth research on it. I’d definitely recommend checking it out if Penrose’s theories interested you

    Time, space, light, speed ect are all metrics we know and use. They work for us in the universe.
    But that doesn’t mean anything outside the universe needs to use these metrics.
    People say ‘Nothing can be created our of nothing’ however I believe outside the universe this was possible, the metrics were different.

    Matter was there before the big bang.
    It was put in place, inactive, inanimate a tiny point of singularity until God said
    " Let there be light "
    The very first prerequisite for life is light.
    " And the word was the light, And the light was with God. And His light IS the life of men ."

      That would be literal torture. In fact there are torture methods existing that you can go try on yourself if you wish.
      Falling into a black hole, assuming you are an eternal being that cannot die, is essentially the same as removing all senses from you (hearing smell sight taste and touch). You can already mimic this by suspending yourself in a fully dark, sound proof chamber filled with some liquid, likely with some Anesthesia applied to dampen your sense of touch or some other drug to paralyse your entire body.
      That’s what you are asking for. You can go try it if you want. But your brain will go into panic mode in a few minutes as it needs external stimulation to survive. Like you will literality die, or come out so horrifically fucked up that you cannot recover mentally
