I'm an optimistic nihilist. Our existence is so meaningless that we can put our own meaning to it. Like a blank page where you can draw whatever you want. This was a great video, learnt quite a bit
I dont even try to search meaning at all im just there doing stuff until eventually closing off way too early (and too late at the same time) and then just cease to exist. Im also quite good with detaching myself seeing myself as the conciousness and nothing more basically an observer observing a character while the observer have no personality but had to expierence the character's emotions feelings desires interests social issues and past. So i technically have according my subjective understanding no power just being forced to expierence the curreng state of the character whether the observer wants it or not.
PS: Im still not avoiding absurdity though as my brain is still online i just think im strictly speaking not the one doing decisions
I’m the same way. I also see it as our existence is meaningless; but for some reason emotions exist and there’s good ones and bad ones, so might as well work on achieving our good ones.

@@spiderbroj1232 god significantly reduces the size and vastness of the universe. we even believed ourselves to be its center at a point in time. even god being omniscient allowed everyone to know god knew they existed and where being watched. it gave people purpose because it increases the amount of significance they had in greater life, rather than being on a rock against million other rocks to great to quantify

I like recognizing the absurdity of my existence. I love taking really stupid things about being a human very very seriously ironically. It also helped with my anxiety realising that yeah, it doesn't matter, but also isn't it funny how I feel so compelled to idk take a shower before studying just for the clean girl vibes. If it was rational it would lose its fun potential. Take having a pet for example. Realizing that I live with another species, one that I can't understand at all, but can only strive to make the happiest just because it's cute is so absurd. But also, ants building a whole complex ass structure and following social norms just because that's how they are is just as absurd. I love realising how much of a reasonless animal we are, no matter how much we try to make it make sense. That's our very nature. We're cute.

If a deeper meaning is just to cope -- is that not a useful meaning in itself? A made-up meaning isn't bad perse. It is easy to say that nothing has meaning.
What does saying "that nothing has meaning" really imply? It is possible to try to improve life for the ones after you -- instead of staying distracted with depressive thoughts. The same people could call such thoughts as the original comment "meaningless" as well. Not everyone can handle certain ideas. And yes, this comment too, is just an opinion. Ideas can "infect" others.
This does not imply that the above comment is incorrect, but questions of it should matter. It is just one interpretation. I would recommend picking up Nietzsche if you are struggling to assign your own "meanings" to things. Being the person who claims that nothing has meaning, and says "no" to everything might not feel that valuable to people around you. "There are no facts, only interpretations" - Nietzsche
Wisdom is our worst curse, but it also what makes us alive. Curiosity and searching for answers to our big questions is what giving us reason to live another day, so I think we should keep asking what is the meaning of everything and never be satisfied with any answer

the problem is most people do not necessarily look for meaning but understand to a certain degree that there really is no meaning and before that tipping point try to cope by finding pre-existing purpose rather than answer a question which cannot be answered due to the nature of our reality

Accepting that we are just animals with impulses is terrifying. And that the only way to be “happy” is to shut off that self aware third person perspective. But how can one go back to ignorance of our meaninglessness after experiencing this transcendence? I don’t think that I could ever possibly just shut it off. Very interesting video though :)
I recommend reading "after the ecstacy, the laundry" by Jack Kornfeld. He's a leader in the Buddhist community and tackles the problem of how one goes on living their ordinary, absurd life full of laundry and other meaningless tasks after achieving a state of enlightenment/transcendence. It deals with the reality that these mindsets or states cannot be maintained permanently, and that we must accept that the mundanity of life cannot be fully transcended. We are human beings, we cannot be more than that, no matter how hard we try. But it's also possible to at once recognize the absurdity while also living with and amongst it comfortably. It doesn't not need to be turned off to be happy living life the same way you did before you realized your situation. It's a great read, I really recommend it
I think it's important to acknowledge how absurd life is FOR EVERYONE. Idk, knowing I'm not the only one that thinks their life is somewhat pointless makes me feel better, and when you find those people that feel the same way you feel some type of comforting unity, like hell yeah we're destined to become part of the eternal void which kinda sucks, but atleast we'll go together.
I feel the same way. If you look at an individual without context, life is pretty meaningless to me and that is okay i dont have to be 'great' or think i have a 'purpose' in this world. I can simply do the things that i enjoy and that sustains me. Many people might consider this a waste but I'm okay with it.

I cannot separate meaning in life from art and passion. In a large scale we may be insignificant, but to create significance in other people's lives through art is truly a reason to live, if only to give others a reason to live.

I think the problem I’m having right now with this is not knowing how to make my own life seem more significant. I don’t want to have a mundane, mediocre life that passes me by. I want to have more experiences and adventure in my life that I can talk about and be proud that I did. The thing is, I don’t know how to do that. Before people had ready access to traveling, were there lives insignificant? (of course not) I don't think it is the action that is the signifier it is us, and how we view it. Even the most mundane task is significant.
How much of your idea of success and significance is truly yours, and not other people’s ideas planted in your head by society / social media? Do you actually enjoy travel, or did you pick up the idea that it’s a sign of significance?
I suggest that before chasing a grandiose idea of gaining significance in general, reconnect with the simple things that truly matter to you on a daily mundane basis, then build on that so much that it will turn significant to you, first and foremost. Even the most mundane things can be of great meaning and importance if you make it so.
@@quinnemilepoe9604 I agree with that for the most part. I do think we put a lot of attachment and desire on these “things” and “aspirations” to the point where it can cause problems. And I do think part of these wants I have probably have been somewhat caused by society and media. However, it did make me think about travel in the way that I just want to experience more of the world, let alone the country I live in. I don’t want to feel like I’m trapped in this little bubble I’ve been in most of my life. Although some of that is probably caused by outside sources, it’s still a feeling I can’t shake. Do you genuinely feel trapped there in the first place? Or do you enjoy your city/country, but people around you make you feel lesser or inadequate for being satisfied with where you are? Maybe start maximizing the local discoveries around your area. Then whatever you enjoy from that will guide you to the specifics of how you wanna expand your horizons: e.g. if you discovered inspiring local artisan pasta, then you have a clue that your first travels outside your bubble should probably be in Italy. If you focus too much on gaining significance for identity and ego purposes without identifying the essence of the simpler things outside of yourself that are important to you, then you will end up going off on different directions trying to chase vague ‘big things’ in life to try and feel like you’re “somebody”. You create meaning, don’t look for it. Opportunities and people will effortlessly come to you if you grow inspiration within yourself first

I ditched genshin long ago, i did the same simple daily missions everyday and it made me feel awful and think that it was such a waste of time...

I feel like there’s always meaning in things, and you just have to find it. One of my friends asked me what the point of our existence is. I always think about it like every action we take effects the people and places we love. Sure, on a grand scale, our lives may have no significance. But everything around you has a meaning, whether you know what it is or not. So, instead of being looped into the existential dread of insignificance, begin to notice how your actions and others’ actions’ and how they change and impact the world you love. Find meaning in the little things, try and make life more significant for yourself.
But changing and impacting a world that has no meaning is meaningless, Love is nothing but chemical soup in your brain, We could recreate it in a lab, it's meaningless, an illusion, a trick of biology. So you find 'meaning' in things that have no meaning becuase of a feeling (love) that is meaningless. All of that is meaningless, Finding meaning in a universe devoid of meaning is meaningless. So you just circle back to the same problem that nothing has meaning.
I've considered that general thought about our personal choices being meaningless at the end of it all a lot.
When you have anxiety, it becomes doubly absurd. I have wasted so much time wondering if some banal action would be rude or weird, if I'd be judged for wearing something, and so on. And it doesn't even matter.
And yet that isn't enough to stop it entirely.

Almost as if you could take the reigns of your own life and develop your own lifeproject as long as you are in context so you can make authentic choices, knowing the consequences of your decisions. I've been pondering more about this critical part our history where things are exponentially advancing (ie. tech, AI, info distribution, Postmates lol), while also exponentially getting worse (ie. Global warming, no shared reality, resource depletion). Ultimately many people are in a Meaning crisis.
This video essay reassured me that the spread of knowledge/experience opens us up so we can make sense of these events and find solutions/meaning. I appreciate you jotting down the sources in the description box too. I hope this becomes common practice in the content creation world.
I recently read Recapture the Rapture by Jamie Wheal and found it very illuminating. Loved his analysis on society's climate and how he offers some key meaning-making tools that are accessible to all (not just the privileged).

I like to think about it this way. Tech is advancing in wild leaps and bounds, but human brains take many years to evolve and truly change. We have a world of the occasional smart monkey advancing beyond the average masses. This is true of exceptions all around the world, like certain trees will grow taller than others, and some shorter. To make this simpler in my brain, I remember that some garbage bins in bear infested areas can't be too complicated because while some bears can open them, some humans cannot. Some of us can understand complicated quantum theory, while the majority of the world is continuing our ancestors daily hardships to survive one more day. This allows massive separation in many ways. The effects of future shock are prevalent now more than any other time in human history. Many things are built in a world where a majority of the population does not understand the how or the why, like the complicated development of a cell phone. A good amount of people would not have any advantage were they to time travel, or simply be dropped in an area like Brazil or Africa, because they do not understand the complexities of things they interact with on a daily basis. Dunning-Kruger syndrome has complex effects in a world where people can say whatever they want without repercussions. It allows for intelligent discussion among some, but others can use it to live in self-satisfying echo chambers. Whether any of this truly means anything is yet to be determined. All we can do is love, even though it becomes much more difficult with every passing day.
I agree with the meaning crisis thing to be honest, and it is an interesting point. People mistake movement for progress. We as humans are stuck in the mud in terms of our "spirituality"/humanity or whatever you prefer to name it. It's just the background of the setting that changes, creating the illusion of progress. Ultimately we are just walking in circles, looking for something that is not there.
Since there is no hope in life, Camus himself suggested, don't long for tomorrow or the future, and live in this exact moment.
That's right way to deal with absurdity. Don't go for goals, but enjoy searching for the goals.

It’s correct that only in the present is one ever content. But it’s also important to recognize the privilege in that statement. When someone reality is waking up to missles raining down on their town, you can’t simply be present. The goal is to get out and start a new life. It sounds like the subtly in the last sentence there is not to fulfill the goals, but rather be aware that you have them? Imo we cannot bring true positive change that way. I used to indulge myself in video games, and I lived my life simply to achieve my ex’s will, and it was like a period that I lived as an inferior being who was “enslaved”. After we broke up, I even regarded myself as exiled, and thought acting great will be rewarded one day. A conscious person would know that it was an escape from “insignificance”, and living under others’ or the public norm’s value is an act of devaluing oneself.

To identify with values is to act accordingly to patterns and actions that you've been taught to interpret in a positive light.

@@slaybotcom From what I understand, sincerity tries to assign meaning to life because things wouldn't make sense without meaning. There is 'faith' that all of this must mean something. Irony on the other hand is more 'cynical', always asking questions about why things are the way they are, without supplying an answer for it. Irony COULD support an answer that has logical underlying (instead of relying on pure faith), but in a seemingly absurd universe, we just keep asking whys to a void that we can't look deep enough into, and which doesn't care to answer.

This strikes me as a bit sociopathic. I understand what you’re saying, and it’s obviously true on its face, but this doesn’t take into account the nature of your own personal, subjective experience. Certainly, you have people in your life that ARENT disposable to you. Even on the internet, you (presumably) watch content creators that you hold up above the rest, and people on the internet that you consistently interact with who aren’t disposable. You’re looking at it from a very cold, mathematical, emotionless point of view. Focus on the value that others have to you in your own reality (the only reality that truly exists to you), and try to recognize that all of these millions of disposable “cogs” on the internet have just as complex, detailed, storied and rich of an existence as you, and anybody you love or admire.

These past few months, I have been going through a severe episode of marijuana withdrawal-induced existential anxiety and DPDR (which basically just makes you hyper aware of your mind's own existence and how absurd it is for that to be possible, with accompanying uncomfortable sense distortions and dreamlike effects). It has been a horrifyingly painful experience, especially due to the contrast of just how "okay" I was with everything prior to this. That being said, I have moments where the anxiety lifts, and I am left feeling relaxed, and dare I say, content. This video has honestly helped me tremendously, but I mainly wanted to explain a few thought patterns that really help me when I am freaking out...
- Everyone, literally every conscious being to have ever existed, is going to live a life, and then one day, die. Death is scary, but it's a lot less scary knowing that we're all in this together.
- Talking to people about existential thoughts and fears really helps.
- Realize that your imagination is overactive, and that intrusive thoughts are not and can never be the truth, because we are limited beings, and due to our limitations, cannot comprehend existence. AND THAT IS OK. Because it has to be.
- Sometimes you won't be able to avoid the scary thoughts. That is okay. Anyone is prone to have them at some point. Just try your best to not engage with them or to "solve" your existential fears.
- Religion can sometimes be a decent coping technique. But for me, it doesn't work as much as I'd like because the scope in my mind just enters the realm of "okay then what would the purpose of the deity be?" and "would an afterlife even be fulfilling?" etc. etc.
- Stay grounded in what you have RIGHT NOW, right in front of you. Stay absorbed in your life as it is currently. You might not know why or how you are alive, but you ARE. You can live a fulfilling life without understanding purpose or having meaning, because there is no true "meaning" to everything, NO ONE KNOWS.
- Anxiety IS A BITCH and is going to try to make you as uncomfortable as possible, but it is there to ultimately protect you and keep you alive. Try to sort through your anxious thoughts.
You are going to be okay. Everyone will likely have existential thoughts at some point in their life, and there are people like me who you can trust to guide you through them, as mine have been especially severe. I know it can be scary, and sometimes you can genuinely convince yourself that you are the only conscious being, and that everything is a simulation, but TRUST ME, that is an intrusive thought, because even if it were true... you wouldn't even have any control over it anyway, so what's the use in worrying about it? I am real to me, you are real to you, and we FEEL real, that's all that matters.
I needed this so much man suffering with something similar I've been having insane dpdr and existential ocd for the past year now and it has fully removed me out of the things I wanna do in life as they keep slipping in my mind I literally cannot focus on my degree because of it. I think I need to start looking into therapy as some kind of mechanism to accept myself more also I highly recommend jiddu Krishnamurti and osho very profound mystics that speak on matters like this and how important meditation is to overcome these issues.

My existential crisis was caused by intrusive thoughts and anxiety due to drug withdrawal, and now that the withdrawal symptoms are clearing up more and more, the crisis is going away. I genuinely just don't care about existence or death anymore. So, if your continues or gets worse, consider talking to a psychiatrist or therapist for some counseling (or maybe even meds). Anxiety / DPDR / OCD are all a really mixed bag and can show up in so many different ways. Existential spirals are horrible, I am so sorry you had to experience it. Ultimately, trying to "solve" or completely understand the thoughts is going to leave you just constantly itching for more. Sitting with the anxiety and acknowledging the thoughts without trying to answer them is the best way to go about it, because over time your mind will simply start to pass them off as something it doesn't need to focus on anymore.
You have no idea how much that just helped me after months and months of dpdr-related existencial ocd. But it makes so much sense now. Thanks.

I absolutely adore your videos. I admire how you reach to your thoughts in such an incredible way, while staying open-minded and respecting other people’s perspectives and conclusions.
I often find myself filled with anxious feelings because of the absurdity of our existence, the not-knowing why we live, what will happen next, how I cannot do anything to prevent my death from happening. But beyond that all, I also have a feeling of freedom. Our existence is so absurd that it is somewhat funny… because of that very absurdity, things don’t really matter that much, and I can live in the way I want to for as long as my existence lasts. And that is, somehow, a calming thought.
Ps: I’m from Madrid and I always fall asleep in the metro hahahaha. My loved ones always worry about me but I never got robbed, just sometimes accidentally skipped my destination… guess it must be the Japanese luck🤷🏽♀️

To me, the japanese characters are somehow more meaningful to a person who doesn’t understand them. If I see either an english or danish advertisement, I filter it away and don’t think about it. But if I see something I don’t understand, I often find myself wondering what these mysterious characters mean… Which makes it even more subjective I reckon. I believe that's because of the significance you give it. A foreigner might give an unknown sign more significance than you would give to a sign in a language you know. And perhaps the forgeinger does so because he is unaware of exactly what it means. Combined with him becoming curious to find out what it means,the sign means a good deal greater to the foreigner than a native.

Idk, I just accepted that objectively meaning doesn't exist. Everything has reasons and consequences, but doesn't have a purpose, a mind behind it. So I chose to just enjoy my life, enjoy socializing, experiencing and processing things. If we're stuck here for a long time, then let's have as much fun as we can!

Born in 91 here, very proud, 31year old male. I always approached and spoke with strangers my whole life. More videos with thoughts and philosophy need to pinpoint interesting actions and interactions with the surrounding environment. You are the circumstance within the system, you cant just be inconsequential yourself because the insignificance will drown you completely and you will probably live a lonely and scared life, like millions of peope have for centuries, except finding happiness will be much harder for you. I’ve been using some of these videos to maybe enlighten myself and it literally gives me goosebumps
I've been having some days where nothing seems important anymore, where "absurd" floods into every aspect of my life and all I ever wanted or thought, and if there's something I can take from this video is trying to shape "oh absurd :c" to "well, absurd c:" and try to complete my daily little tasks trying to build the life my inner child always wanted, trying to learn in hopes that it will make me a better person to better enjoy life with the people that's in it. It's hard not to take on any esotherical or mystical beliefs, but I guess that "I'm just a human. And that's all I'll ever be".
sometimes the insignificance of my life feels daunting, but most days it reassures me and helps me float through life without taking things too seriously. i'm here for such a small amount of time, i want to enjoy as much as possible, learn as much as possible and love as much as possible. i'm an autistic physics student, so i really struggle with not having black and white answers to everything, but if we had answers for everything, life would be so incredibly boring 🥰

I relate to having that desire to be big, to be loved by everyone, to have the most important job. I feel however, that view stems from the consumerist view where all you want is more and more until you are worn out and left sitting on the floor in a ball. I like the idea of acceptance. Accepting that life is absurd, it can have meaning and significance, but that comes from within. And, consumerism is quite similar to that animalistic state described, where you simply respond to your basic impulses and act as a mouse in a maze. I suppose once you both view the insignificance of life and yet still participate, will you strike a happy medium. That is my scattered thoughts.

I believe that due to the sheer fact that we can question our existence shows the truly embedded desire for a meaningful experience.
We were made to question in order to find our truth. Certainly this curiosity can leads us to find more satisfaction when we choose to connect with each other on a deeper and existential level. By living in new experiences you begin to see life as a whole, rather than being separate from everything.
Even if life comes out to be ‘insignificant‘, it’s better to have tried to make it significant, then to have purposely suffered.

Listening to your talk in the context of Everything, Everywhere, All at Once is interesting. The movie posits that because nothing has meaning, everything has meaning. Or rather I would suggest, our actions create their own meaning. This make the process of maturing a process of choosing the meaning we wish to have and developing it. Like your video on love being passive or active. We can view meaning as a passive thing that is 'out there' and we can find it if we look long enough. This video states that meaning is an active thing. We create meaning and significance in the process of our living. I just found your channel and I think I'm addicted. The range of subjects you examine is mind boggling.
If everything has meaning, nothing has meaning. A scizoid smearing shit on the wall can find meaning in that act. That doesn't mean it has any actual meaning. "Our actions create their own meaning" In a meaningless universe this means nothing. You are just doing random shit that tickles some dopamine hit, it means nothing. Choosing the meaning, since meaning has no meaning its once again, all meaningless.
The distinction between meaning and significance was so profound for me.
Been struggling a LOT with meaning and existentialism so this was perfect timing. I feel like when I turned 18 and went to college I was faced with reality and had a lot of horrific realisations about the world. I still haven’t recovered and it’s been devastating for me mentally. There are so many careers I want to do but if I choose the wrong path and purse the wrong thing I will live to regret it. I feel like I only have one chance at life, and if I screw it up I’ll hate myself forever. The thought of choosing one thing and that I’ll never get to do everything I want to and chase all of my dreams overwhelms me. Also the fact that all my relationship and friendships and family will all die and so will I. Life is so futile and short that it keeps me up at night. That thought haunts me and plagues my whole existence.*

I’m suffering severe depression and this is one of the reasons. No matter what I do or achieve I don’t feel like it amounts up to anything. The sun rises and sets, days go on, yet there is no reason or meaning in all our suffering. we suffer so much and for what? Super lost in life, no interests and don’t feel like anything will ever end this hopelessness and meaninglessness. We’re a blank page and create our own meaning? Looks to me like living in an illusion. No hate to anyone that lives like this, it’s just currently I cannot grasp how to or what we’re supposed to do. I guess i’m tired of living lies and found out life has no meaning. Feels like a huge void I can momentarily fill with drugs, sex and entertainment.
I used to feel like this. I was binging drugs for days then sleeping for days. Eating junk food then not eating anything for hours, and never leaving my rooms.
I then realized that despite my depression, I still wanted things. Once I thought about it, I understood that if I didn't do anything all day, I would never have anything. I wouldn't have friends, loved ones, dreams, goals, or even fun.

I think it’s just as silly to assume life is meaningless as it is to assume we are the center of the universe. Yes we are very small, but that also means we have a very small understanding of our existence. We do know there are multiple dimensions, and other mysteries that science still can’t explain. That aside, if nothing else, our purpose is to live. To continue on our species. It’s the point of all life on earth. But beyond just having babies, we can be a positive impact to the earth and those around us by being thoughtful and kind. Other than that, make the most of living while you can. This is an amazing journey. Yes at times it’s painful, but it can also be beautiful and mystical and awe-inspiring. That’s why it’s good to get out there and see new things, meet new people, try your best, and have fun. Think of all the “random” events that occurred in order for you to be here… right now. All the evolution that occurred, all the hardships your ancestors went through, all the small (seemingly insignificant things) that had to happen for you to be alive today. If it is all random, it’s still so amazing that you made it here and can see this shit show first hand. Make the most of it!
i’ve learnt through personal experience that if we simply dwell in our sorrows, change won’t happen. no matter how much we wish for a life filled with meaning, a life that we actually value and brings us joy, change CANNOT happen when we don’t take the steps to change. if we repeat the same routine that leads us to nothingness and a meaningless life, change will never happen. we will never find meaning. i don’t know your life and it’s struggles, but you need to take the first steps to improve your situation in order to get into a better headspace because complaining will not do anything. it’s sad but it’s the truth.
You’re not suffering from depression because of meaninglessness. You’re suffering from meaninglessness because of your depression. The lack of dopamine takes away your ability to find meaning in anything. But that’s your subjective perception of reality due to your mental illness. And it will change once you manage to overcome the depression
My daughter wanted me to watch this video, and I was very impressed. Even though the video is ostensibly for younger people, it dealt with some very heavy subjects such as nihilism, postmodernism vs. metamodernism, etc. I’ve been interested in philosophy most of my life, but I still learned a lot from this video.

-Meaning is dependent to our minds. It is not an empirical phenomena. Therefore Meaning can only be subjectively meaningful or subjectively meaningless.
-I think saying "life is insignificant" implies that there is an objective ultimate goal or objective purpose to everything.
-If we can understand how absurd it is to believe that life has significance in a postmodern nihilistic time, then we must also understand that it is absurd to believe that we need significance to live a meaningful happy life.

Man I'm a Christian theist and I think the same way. It perpetuates the whole "we are the main character" so they think that because their life is boring then their lives must be not worth living type of idealism, that to me comes off as narcissistic.

i’ve been thinking a lot lately about meaningless vs insignificant without having the specific language you’ve used here so i really appreciate this video! i think the significance and meaning of our lives comes from the connections we make while here. whether that’s with other humans, with concepts, with other creatures, with the world, or with the universe. it’s different for every one of us but those connections are what shape our identities and the choices we make and the meaning or significance we can find in life.

Our minds confusing our existence with purpose and meaning in the context of technology and online personas. Internet Technology has created a new reality for humanity that enables us to indulge in it and control it from our own perspectives. Lain in the series is representing us, humans attached to the internet, and in the end she decides to erase herself from existence and others memories because she believes she only exists in the minds of people who are aware of her. She removed herself from a fixed point within existence and thought she could achieve freedom through it, when in reality she was losing her sense of self and couldn’t decipher her personas on The Internet (The Wired) and in real life. Serial Experiments Lain predicted the issues of self that would be destabilized by social media and the internet.
Totally. We are primitive beeings with a very powerful tool, the ability to share abstractions and ideas.
An unexpected exponential growth in communication technology enabled us to be constantly exposed to the idea of connectivity, and we yearn for it as we yearn to understand ourselves within the realm of what the other represents to us. We want balance, and we know we can achieve it, we are naturally pushed towards it if we actually seek it, but the distractions are many and the time is "limited".

Really love this video!! Simplicity is really the key, atleast that's also what I realized and which got me thaught when I was in a mental hospital last year. My search for meaning was so great and I thought that there would be an answer somewhere, and that people just have to think more & someone will figure it out someday :,)
But what actually helped was getting into into the mindset of "I don't need a meaning to be alive." - I just can do anything without it being super meaningful or significant - there is no law that says that everything you do must be worth something - If I want to make music that no one will ever hear or draw my favorite characters for hours just to delete the file, so be it. I'll enjoy the sun and the rain and tell myself that life is what is right now, always changing and flowing and let's see what will happen.
I pray for anyone who actually asks this question to themselves seriously, just live your life to the fullest as far as we know we only got a small amount of time in this world, so just dont waste your time and be grateful for everything you have

I've always struggled with connecting with my peers due to extreme philosophical and political interests, sometimes I feel like there's no point if nobody thinks the same, that's why I'm so happy you're making videos and I'm grateful for the perspectives you give
I appreciate this is a bit of a late reply, but you might also wonder if there's any point if everyone thinks the same way - surely 8 billion of us would then be redundant. Rather, it's that diversity of thought that gives our species the flexibility to adapt and to change the world, for good or ill.
