      I'd have to disagree, atleast for the Pre-refresh models (2019-2021). Those still captured most of the key Silverado Deisgn cues. The Refreshed Silverado's however, no, they're truly ugly. Just like the current HDs.

    I agree with you… the silverados w the transformer front end just looks the same up to 2022/23. Here in Canada we like the GMC and it always has more standard equipment/ a step up in design and features and has a better front end allday/everyday.

    Got a gf who’s family who’s had GM whole life and agrees that the seats in the trucks are too uncomfortable AT ANY TRIM. They’re “like a rock”. The seats in the Rams at base lvl are way more comfortable. It’s sad because I love the look of the new Silverado. And the 1/2 ton Duramax has better acceleration than the Rams.

  • @atticusgalt765
    @atticusgalt765 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Just stumbled upon your page... you buy a new truck every year?? Can you explain the process? In my mind I would be losing tons if money in depreciation, but if there is a way to not lose $ every year, it sure would be nice to be in a new truck all the time!

  • @billluster7687
    @billluster7687 2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

    You made the right choice. The refreshed Silverado is basically the exact same truck on the outside except for the HUGE design mistake of relocating the Bowtie 6 inches higher than is should be! The Refreshed Sierra actually looks a lot different than the previous model. And not to forget that GMC/Chevy are basically the same truck. Change will be a good thing.

    • @AmpAHolic-wn6mr
      @AmpAHolic-wn6mr ปีที่แล้ว

      I honestly don’t see an issue with the bowtie location. Either the old or new. Kind of prefer the newer version myself, but it’s certainly not a game changer. Simply a personal preference. What is a game changer is the new redesigned interior and small body changes. The late 22 and 23 models are a huge upgrade to the line.

    I do like the new Sierra’s more than the Silverado’s. It’s something about them and I can 100% agree with you on the weird placement of the front Chevy badge. Great truck choice, I’m ready for the new content.

      The taillights on the new Chevys are just so weird looking whereas the gmc taillights look good. It’s too bad gm didn’t use the same taillights for the Silverado think it would look better. The only thing weird looking on the Sierra is the odd shaped wheel wells.

      @dallasfrost1996 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Agreed, Chevy screwed up the refreshed Silverado exterior. The 2019-2021 Silverado front ends looked perfect in my opinion. It had the classic Silverado look but in a more modern way. The refresh erased all the key Silverado design cues, like the double stacked headlights, centered bowtie, etc. It now just looks ugly.
      Pre-refresh, I preferred the Silverado exterior over the Sierra. But now after the Refresh, I'm going Sierra this time round.

    i bought a 2019 GMC SLT, which was an upgrade from my 2009 GMC W/T, I specifically wanted the push button start and a center console with the charging pad(which i haven't used much because it is inconvient where it is). It wasn't worth the extra price i would have had to pay to get the new dashboard layout, which i really do love. As it was, I paid $5000 more than i should have, but I only had 3 trucks to choose from in a 5 state area. In a couple of years, i'll get the 2022 model. Hopefully prices will have come down by then. I won't buy anything but a GMC.

    You seem to care more about looks than reliability. GM’s truck division has been proven to be extremely unreliable over the last 15 years, with nearly all new GM trucks being built in Mexico, where hard working folks are paid about $5.00 an hour. GM cares more about profits than good products. When I was a kid, having a Chevy or GMC truck was a big deal, 100% US made and built to last. Those days are forever gone. When Toyota offers a superior truck with bulletproof reliability, you take it. Japan

    Glad you got what you wanted, no hate for that.
    I didn't want to wait for the 6.2l Elevation. The only AT4 I could get in my area was white or black, don't want either. I ordered a Silver ice LT2 Silverado Trail Boss 6.2l. I hope it comes with the ZR2 hood scoop, but thats a long shot. I'm going to add one later when available. I'm replacing my beloved 18 Silverado that got totaled by another driver. Used prices are ridiculous, not paying that.

    I watched that whole video, expecting a Ford, Ram, or Toyota to be your next purchase. I thought that, because you "didn't want to buy the same truck with a different front end". Isn't the GMC the same exact truck with a different front end, (and wheel wells)?

    Agree with you 100%. They ruined the front end. Last gen looks so much better. The bumper. The integrated air scoops. But I still don’t like the fact it has leaf springs on the back. And that the rear seats are so upright. Ram got both of those things right..

    I don't know about the rest of these guys but when I look at Sierra's versus Silverado I'm like six or a half-dozen Sierra's a little nicer cost a little bit more and I do like the way it looks better but basically there's not a whole lot of difference from a capability standpoint. With that Said I'm with you, I like the. Sierra better

    Back in the day when trucks were more of what they represented, but today all brands are shared with other brands. For example, Chevrolet and Ford both share the same 10 speed transmission from the same company. Don't get me wrong, I've owned both brands and use to like both. This day and time it doesn't matter anymore when both makes suck anyway because with all the new features that they all have represent another company. From its stereo systems to its transmissions and to its computer technology software and so on. So to be quite frank, it doesn't make any sense to be a brand fan anymore since much of what it represents of the same of any other make. It boils down to whether or not the company backs its product when something goes wrong. In my experience, GM doesn't do that all to well. It's a shame to spend this much money for a product that becomes so problematic and worthless because with all this new technology increases cost and many of these companies are going to try to pinch their way out to reduce that cost.

    I factory ordered my 2014. I still have the truck and use it every day and it now has over 100,000 miles. I keep it spotless inside and out the best that I can and follow all required maintenance and more. I really don't see the point in purchasing a new vehicle every couple of years since you are only making other people money and not saving it for yourself, but hey! It is your cash so you obviously can do with it as you please. I like to make a new vehicle payment to myself every month and keep storing it in my bank account, then when it comes time to purchase a new truck, I just factory order exactly what I want and pay cash for it. That is the cheapest way and you will get exactly what you want in what color that you want.
    Just throwing some free advice out. Do with it what you will.

      My torque converter just blew up on my ‘14 that I have meticulously maintained. Turns out it’s a thing with 14 through 17, and even 8 speed 18 to 20 or so. I’m probably just gonna fix it and keep it another couple years to see how well the new style shake out. Gotta say, I do really dig the new interior.
