As I psychologist I can vouch there are a lot of little nods to psychology throughout the movie which was super interesting, obviously the whole film needs to be taken with a pinch of salt because it's not how the brain works at all but the little nods were pretty neat.

They rebel against the Virtue Emotions because they wanted to dominate the entire mind causing Riley to get Mentality Illness, however Hope, the sister of Despair stopped him from his plans, together with her companions:Love, Pity,Trust, and Courage.
Seems a tad cliche don't you think? Pixar was very original in how they portrayed this movie and I don't think they need to fall into the typical struggle for power and friendship wins scenario.

I hate those "oh this thing is popular so it is trash" guys but I think Inside Out is a bit overrated. The chracters (both human and emotions) are fantastic, but the overall world of the mind is so empty and visually boring, this make's Joy and Fear journey so uninteresssing. Pixar definally deserved the Oscar nominations but I really wish Anomalisa or Marnie wins just for a change. Seriously, in the 14 animation Oscars Disney won 9 of them. Even BAD Disney movies won just because thay were Disney like Big Hero, Brave and Frozen (if you compare with the other nominations).

I would respect Pixar so much if they made a new Inside Out short for an after-credits short after new films. What if we had lots of Inside Out-quality shorts come out showing all the important moments in Riley's life. They could present so much with this formula, Riley's first child, her graduation, her relationship troubles, her grandchildren, losing her husband/wife, dying. I have to say, it'd be interesting to see, and I'd sit to watch them. If they kept it simple, and saved the emotions' big adventures for any movies they want to make, it's be amazing to see those little moments play out in this way
