For the first time ever in TEKKEN history, TEKKEN 8 adds an entirely new chapter to its story mode, expanding on “The Dark Awakens” storyline, which continues the clash between the Kazama and Mishima families. “The Dark Awakens” story mode expansion will be available as a free update for all TEKKEN™8 players
The Mishima feud has gotten tiresome and repetitive, never going anywhere. Might as well bring Jinpachi back and focus on a relationship between him and Jin. Even developing Ogre as a character would be more original than keeping this feud, since he's the only villain completely unrelated to the devil-Mishima drama thingy.
i mean, why even make tekken 7 and 8? tekken 7's only one story bit got essentially retconned, and tekken 8's ending (reina being the new enemy) has been tossed because now heihachi is back if you think about it, we're back to the ending of tekken 6, except that this time jin defeating azazel did erase the devil gene for good, well, except for reina but it's not like she will matter anyway
@@zekeiwa5837 That's my biggest problem with all of this. It feels like all the progress made in the past two games has been essentially undone and reset.
The monks used her for heihachi to get his mind body heart challenge not knowing that the meteor that kazuya and jin had there battle on in space would make his memory return
Heihachi from what his character profile and his story here, he knows the true extent of the Devil gene and it cannot be entirely be destroyed because Azazel is always presented in corruption, in Tekken 2 it was confirmed that Jun had the power to repelled Devil from currupting Kazuya's mind entirely and she did the same to Jin, but she didn’t erased it
Man, they reused his Tekken 3 leimotif from the intro, his Tekken 2 Leimotif from the pre-menu select AND the music that played for him during his confrontation with Kazuya in Tekken 7. Amazing.
I was hoping Heihachi would commit to being a monk, would have at least been an interesting new way to take the character and a character type that surprisingly hasn't been done in Tekken before. Him still having some sort of grand plan even after he literally failed at the end of T7 is so silly
Turning the Mishima men good while leaving the new evil threat, Reina, would have been a good story. She could be used to tempt them back into getting the devil gene (if possible for it to be revived), or using her devil powers to cause mischief, bringing up old wounds etc. But alas. Tekken only care about money.
@@sirp7394 In Tekken 6, they showed Jin's devil tattoo at the end to prove that defeating Azazel didn't eliminate the Devil Gene. In Tekken 8, after the final battle, you could _still_ see it, lol. And the DG was shown to draw power from a different source before, which's possibly how Reina, who was prolly never possessed by a devil, could activate hers.
I think Heihachi knows about Kazuya and Jin well their devil gene powers .... are suppressed by angel Jin. He knows that both Kazuya and Jin and Reina must be presented to reach his ultimate goal to gain the ulitmate power he needs

That being said, Jin getting a lot of support from the characters despute what he did is certainly a bad choice.
@@bloodgrave66 But he doesn't know that they lost their devil power. Or if he does im not sure how. And I couldn't imagine why he would want them to have it.
Alright so here's what I'm thinking. We see Jun walk up to Kazuya after he was knocked unconscious by Jin. In Tekken 9, we get the return of a proper tournament called by an alive Heihachi to the publics surprise. Jin, of course, enters cuz wtf you're supposed to be dead? Meanwhile, a rehabilitated Kazuya also enters cuz again, you should be fuckin dead.
