Put a shelf right above the outlets. That way you can use the plugs, set a grow light, and use a trailing plant to disguise the outlets.
If you are concerned about the outlets in the middle of the wall, you can get outlet plate covers (they are like $3) and "close the hole" with them. It'll keep water from going near wires, and if you eventually need to use the outlet again, you can put the outlet plates back on. I suggest doing the outlet covers even if you are hanging something in front of them.
To add to this comment I found a tutorial for you. OR hang a canvas print over the top to hide them that way 😉. I had a hideous wall A/C unit in one of our houses. I went to Michael’s and got the perfect size and had my son paint on it… it is now one of my favorite possessions 😍

Yes, you can also paint the cover the same color as the wall, and it'll blend right in. I did this in my bathroom when I had to redo an entire wall that had outlets. If you change your mind later and need the outlets, they're right there for you. No electrician, and you can use the money for more plants.

Love the new plant setup. For the Wally Grow planters consider using the white grow light and clipping in to the corner of your curtain road where you can still open and close the curtains. For the plant on your bf side of the bed, If he has not vetoed it already. Put the basket closer to the bed and plant more towards the window so that you minimize the amount of times he touches the plant. Likely to be able to remain there if it does not touch or bother him. ❤
Those trailing plants have grown so much,I still remember when you planted them in. The room looks so good, If you want the plants to grow in front of the window,just turn them around every now and again and they will face you. It’s great to have a plant styling video as well as plant care,I lack styling creativity… 💚🌱🌿 Natalie
I just love watching you thrive in your own space!! That Brooklinen set is SO good! My suggestion for your bedside corner would be a hanging plug in light from the ceiling (you can use a command hook cause its light 😏) and then either a smart plug with a grow bulb, or a smart LED light bulb so you can change color for the mood/comes with a remote and still gives the plant a little bit of light!
I've done a few and just use sansi bulbs in them!
Sometimes when our plans don’t work out they work out better than we planned!! It is hard to not fall into wanting symmetry, it naturally seems best in our mind but actually the staggered look gives a more homey cozy vibe. I would finish it off by hanging a picture over the top of those outlets! No one will ever know they are there! Looks great!! Hope you enjoy your new cozy space!!

@@wildfern when you hang something over it make a frame to keep some distance from the wall, and leave the top open so you can use the outlet if need be but it's all hidden except the cord that would need to come out. Idk if that description makes sense lol
@@wildfern and asymmetry goes with the organic nature of plants! It’s so difficult to balance wanting plants to look aesthetic with having them actually thrive, but I think you do a great job. I hope you enjoy your cozy, creative space :)

Hi Fern. Great makeover video. Loved the bedding your chose and so did Olive, I see 💗🐕💗Big hugs for her!!!! The plant arrangement looks awesome. I think a colourful tapestry rug would look nice hung on the wall, above the bed.
Scindapsis idea, hell yes! I don’t know how you feel about the maximalist aesthetic, but I love it. (Just for the design, not for the lifestyle. I don’t got the money or need to be a full-time maximalist) If you feel weird about there being awkward blank spots, my trick is to get a cute trinket or something from Target and hang it on the wall and BOOM blank spot fixed. I got hanging wood box shelves from Amazon and plunked one of my dad’s old steel Ford toy and it’s one of my favorite easy design ideas.
Some art I think would really help bring things together, wooden frames would work well with all the other elements in the space, perhaps a small side table for the reading nook too. Looking forward to seeing the end result :)
Hi Fern. If you can't disguise the cords from the grow lights to the outlet, maybe you could coil a row of fairy lights along the cords. That would add a nice cosy vibe, especially at night. Love your new house Fern! Xx
You could get a ceiling fan for your bedroom. We did that with our 2 bedrooms that didn’t already have them and they are LIFE CHANGING. It was only like $400-500 for the fans and install I think in the PNW.
Putting plants next to the baseboard heaters will also make them unhappy during the winter if you plan to use it.
I have an exam tomorrow so I can't watch this, but once I'm done I'll be sure to check this out!

Maybe remove the rolling cart and put the books on the functional shelf? So your side isn’t as ‘cluttered’ and more focus on that beautiful plant!!
A suggestion make room more cozy maybe few throw pillows on bed and a blanket across bottom of bed and some art work on walls . I really love what you have done so far

I installed a highland track light system in my bedroom to solve that "looking at the backs of the plants" issue. It was Hella expensive but the best plant light purchase i have ever made. If you do that route I am sure it will make those walligrow planters grow amazingly

What about a grow light on your side of bed that comes up from floor, under leaves of begonia? Enjoyed sitting in your reading chair like friends reorganizing your bedroom.
You could also add a jute rug to the room under part of bed.
That begonia looks awesome in that corner. You should ( imo) elevate it more and it would hide your electrical box, just a thought. Move your book cart in front? Just an idea. I always look for ways to tier my plants ❤

I’m right there with you on the fan front. Even in the winter when it’s cold in my apartment I still turn on the fan but just face it away from me lol I need the noise 😂
Bedding I usually just have the pillow, duvet and mattress sheet. I don’t bother with that extra bed sheet. Doesn’t really serve a purpose for us. Plants i like to spread around the home so it doesn’t look too compact. I like the minimalist look in my home. I never see a tv outlet in the bedroom before on the wall there usually with where you plug is on top of the skirting boards. I don’t like having plants where i sleep or close to where i cook aswell. Nothing worst having fungus gnats flying there too.
i am the same with the fan. Even though its getting chilly i still want to turn on the fan haha. And I am loving your space! Your side of the bed is so nice to look at

Hi Fern! I would do the outlet covers as mentioned but I’d be worried about water still. It would be less of a problem but I’d still be worried. The covers would make it more flat and then you could place a picture or mirror over it. Just a suggestion to help. 😊 Love your videos and planty goodness!
Caution with the track lights. They are meant for whole walls and can bleach the plants very easily 🥴 I use soltech highland lights and have had to back my plants up a bit. Could also have the track light farther back on the ceiling

Also on that outlet, did you consider getting outlet covers and then maybe putting a painting or something over it? I hate visible cords and outlets like that and I’ve really learned specific painting placement lol

I’m surprised you didn’t wrap a couple vines around the cord to the clamp light! I love to take a couple vines from my hanging plants and send them up over a curtain or anything around them to get a different dimension out of them!
