Indian here. Please make more videos like these. We need international criticism. That's the only way our authorities will come into action and do something about the shitty street foods here. We might be the world's 5th largest economy but this country has failed to invest money in teaching basic civic sense and hygiene to people.
@@logc1921 yeah, seems like most indian politicians seem to be too busy blaming and cursing muslims for everything rather than address the unsanitary, uncivilized culture...

Which city you live in ? Do they have this kind of shit coz my city doesn't and none of cities I had been to didn't have it and I've traveled bro from north to south nowhere I saw this? Ps half of these videos are not from India sooo....
I've traveled to poorer places, and I'm talking about hut villages in the middle of nowhere, and they have hygiene and cooking standards a thousand times better than this. Being poor is not an excuse to be doing this.
People thousands of years ago washed their hands in ash based lye, which is basically primitive soap. India has no excuse to be that polluted, rapey, diseased, and hateful. It’s stupid that people call it racist to say a bad place is bad. There are countries much poorer than India with much better morals and hygiene.

I'm also from a developing nation (Brazil) and being poor or having humble origins is defenetly not an excuse for lack of hygiene. We take great pride on how dedicated we are to cleanliness
As a straight brown dude from a 3rd world country we have a saying here that goes: being poor is not an excuse to being dirty. India should be ashamed of their dirty practices and improve, no matter the economic factors. Ive had meals in many poor kitchens of relatives, saw the throughly cleaning and preparing poverty food with care and love, using nets for hair, keeping their work station clean, avoid cross contamination, using fresh ingredients and making delicious clean food. Using your dirty hands to scoop food has nothing to do with money
India has a ton of cleanliness, it just doesn't get shown on tiktok or Instagram. It's crazy how people look at one thing in a reel genre and generalise it for the entire culture. Yeah you are sure to find dirt when you go around looking for it in the most disgusting dumps of Delhi and Bombay.
As an Irish man who lived in India I learned 1. Don’t drink the tap water 2. Go to popular food spots to make sure you don’t get sick from flys 3. You will get sick even if your follow these
The food in Indian street videos looks like what the protagonist would be served in a post-apocalyptic movie/game to introduce the audience to what this world is like
As a wise man once said: You can be as careful and clean as you can when going to India, you'll still end up with some sickness during or after your trip. How the hell did these people did not die out from food poisoning already is beyond me.

Same here. In my 3rd world country and say that being poor is not an excuse to be dirty. A clean kitchen with attention to sanitation is not a matter or money but education and culture. These dudes are just filthy
Thats such an important Statement. Poor doesn't mean filthy/dirty. The only Problem in these Videos is the Mentality. I know a lot of Countries that are way poorer than India but they are all very clean in Comparison.
Exactly, being poor doesn't mean you have live in filth. It just boils my blood when people try using that excuse to justify forcing their children to live like that.
The thing is poverty is not an excuse for filthyness. I grew up in a developing country and people who serve food here still use gloves and hairnets, and they also clean up their stalls/spots frequently.
@Thatonedude90 a former friend of mine who was born there said that a lot of the friends he had there were inbred. It's sad, but to me there's no excuse for this barbarism.
exactly poverty doesnt excuse filthyness, heck i recently just watched a documentary of poverty in the philippines and all the street food they cook there atleast meets the average cleanliness standard, i see them wiping their counters, avoids touching the food as much as possible, and dont act like how these indian street food stalls do. people who are defending this filthyness is acting like if you are poor you dont know how to be clean cause thats the most offensive sht i have ever heard
the best thing about those videos is that there are always a couple indian guys who type "you disgusted by this? you probably never seen how your favorite restaurant's kitchen looks 😂🙏" And I always think "Mate you don't know where I live and you've probably never heard of the concept of food inspectors either".
My favorite is when they start accusing my mom and sister of having Only Fans. For some reasons Indians are obsessed with this website. I literally don't know (personally) a single person that uses it but this is what Indians use to cope.

And it’s always so needlessly gross. Like… why use your feet when there is literally a flat surface and a rolling pin available in the same place? Why use your whole arm to stir when the other person is literally using a spoon? It’s so gross.
@hailey37926 it's against the ton of people who inevitably will, and do call this criticism racist. As well as those who tiptoe around any form of criticism of basically anybody except white people
@lucassmith1886 yup. they act like we only criticize it because they have brown skin. like nobody cares what you look like, just stop serving food with parasites and rat droppings in it, and shitting on public beaches and people will stop complaining
@@h0ojn-c1jI mean, even Hunter felt the need to make a self-loathing “privileged white person” joke at the beginning to try and dodge the criticism. It’s a little pathetic, but I get why he did it.
My Indian housemate used to wash his bottom with water (and hand) and made the entire bathroom wet every time he took a dump. Then we told him not to, then suddenly from the next day, the entire house started to stink like poop. Later we found out that he stopped using water and started to wipe, but instead of flushing them, he used to keep those wiped tissues in the trashcan under the basin, under the kitchen sink, trashcan in his room, like literally everywhere in the house. They were small pieces of turd nicely wrapped in a white paper all around the house for us to do an Easter egg hunt.🤦🏼♂God knows why. These people are unreal. To them, concepts like unhygiene, squalor and filth just doesn't compute.
It's because in quite a lot of Asia the plumbing can't handle toilet paper and leads to blockages, so people in many regions put toilet paper in bins instead
Most things in American Kitchens aren’t made with gloves accept for salad or ready-to-eat foods (I.e. baked goods or raw food) everything else we wash hands inbetween and it’s fine. As long as you don’t cross contaminate different proteins, or do cross contact, (meaning different possible allergens) touching each other, everything is pretty damn safe, especially with the USDA and other health organizations inspecting most food products.
@@samhescott348 the Indian food is usually made with hands, but the restuarants too have the water basins where workers wash their hands in between.. the same can be said for street food, but only if you go to normal looking street food not the bizzare ones.

I’ve never any of the stuff in the video in India. Like literally never. If you’d go to an ACTUAL restaurant in India, you’ll have great Indian food
@@mrnice4434 Tbf, India is so big - and the rich areas of India is more likely more sanitized than most of.. lets say USA. India differs A LOT depending on where you go. I am half Indian from my fathers side and I have never been to India - but I have relatives who are rich and lives in India and they say that whats shown here in these type of videos does not exist where they reside. These videos most likely come from Dehli, Mumbai etc and the worst areas you can find. I would also bet that some of these videos are just made disgustingly for tiktok views. Moral of the story tho - if you going to India - go eat at restaurants or places where you can see them handle your food. Dont be scared of saying no either - thats something you need to have mastered before coming to India - because you going to need to say it quite often when walking around in inner cities. Another advice, dont go to the big cities - go to places like Ranthambore National Park, Northern Goa, Manali, Sikkim, Kerala, Ladakh etc etc. Going to ghetto areas of Mumbai is like going to Skid Row in LA - just less dangerous

I genuinely believe that the reason traditional Indian food and street food is so spicy is because if it wasn't half their population would be dead from food poisoning almost instantly
@@dubuyajay9964 No. Wasabi is a palate cleanser and is totally optional. Japanese sushi chefs also have to go through 10 years of training before they can prepare and serve sushi in a restaurant. The only sushi you should fear is the stuff in gas stations…
This is true to a degree. Most of the countries around the equator use a lot more spices and such because the warm and humid weather makes it hard to preserve food for long. Here in Mexico everything is cooked with onions and garlic for that reason, or at least that's how the tradition was born and thus kept, the spices also aid in keeping bacteria at bay and help with digestion.
Slum areas in Indonesia's capital jakarta are miles better than this. Sure the place is dirty but the preparation is proper and the only concerning theme in Indonesian street food drinks is the big ice stored in an iron barrel
This. Poverty = Poor sanitation skills and unhygenic practices DOES NOT equal excuse to be goddamned filthy. Poverty in most 3rd world countries are often not the fault of the civilians themselves but by political tensions, extreme government corruption. While lack of education may lead to being unknown about the dangers of unsanitary behavior causing examples like we see in the video; most of the time its just plain ignorance. Being someone from a Southeastern nation, good hygine=cleanliness is automatically common sense.
As an Indian here's some info: 1) The "Sandwhich" is a variation of the Indian "Phuchka" or "Golgappa" which is supposed to be made while wearing gloves but yeah... 2) The "Yum-scrum" glop is basically boiled chickpea and mashed potatoes with some spices 3) The "Black Feet" video is definitely parody. The box of fruits is suspiciously clean for a guy with feet that dirty 4) The "Hand Meat" video is pretty misleading, the meat is actually goat's meat and the red liquid is probably the spiciest and best gravy anyone will ever taste. Can't say anything about the hands though. 5) The "Baron Harkonnen" video is about malai lassi. Basically extremely sweet milkshake made with condensed milk and milk solids (the stuff he's scooping up). 6) The "Black Oil" video jumpscare is actually pickled veggies. 7) I feel like the second "Hand meat" video doesn't even have any meat in there. The rest is actually disgusting *edit: I suspect the McDonald's fries to be unripe mango slices or maybe chilli
Ahh ok that clears up a lot of thing, thanks! Have you spent much time in India and/or live there? How common would you say it is to see street food vendors with poor hygiene like in these videos? I seriously doubt that it's like this all over and think it's more likely that these are just some of the worst examples of vendors, but I have no clue. If I ever go to India and want to try some street food, I'll probably just be cautious and keep an eye on how I see them preparing the food
@@WeAreASecret Hey. To answer your questions yeah I am a born and brought up Indian. The place where I live currently has a lot of street food. Most of it is pretty hygienic, i.e. washing hands, chopping fresh veggies etc. But there are really bad places that most people do avoid.
@@WeAreASecretim an indian and ive been to alot of other places in india , i'd say thats pretty rare to see this kind of thing , personally ive never seen vendors like these nor ive met any person who likes this kind of street food , where im from its not a posh area , ive seen alot of unhygienic places to eat here ,but noway near to this level , and yet theyre usually empty because nobody goes there Although i would still recommend to lay off of street food here if you ever were to visit, mainly because of spice levels ,and about the hygiene there are alot of vendors that are very hygienic with their servings and alot of unhygienic too , you can easily tell from which vendor youre supposed to eat and which one youre not , and still if a person constantly stumbles upon bad unhygienic food , then id say its his fault not the whole country's
gotta consider that the flies are flying straight from the garbage/animal feces that they were eating and landing on the food with that on their feet. at least the rats have to walk to the food and wear some of the garbage off of their feet in the process. Plus flies can spread some REALLY nasty stuff Either way, I'm not eating either
What you don't seem to realize about the foot videos is that there is very little public sanitation in India. The streets in the major metropolises, especially the poor ones, are virtually paved in shit. It ranges from sewage slop in the gutters to a fine dust that covers everything and gets in your eyes, lungs and every crease and crevice in your body. I was violently sick the entire time I was there, even after I said fuck it and picked an upmarket hotel. Never again. If you want dysentery, typhoid, cholera, fecal pneumonia and staph and E-coli poisoning, eat that foot food.
typhoid, cholera, fecal pneumonia, staph infection, e-coli etc are great tools to make your immune system strong. Now tell this to the girls who does yoga and believe they are indigo children please
My brother in Christ those bacteria have laid dead more people than they made strong. Even near stone-age tribes in Africa have better food sanitation.

Like the guy with the feet stomping on fruit. That thing he wears on his head, is something Sadhus wears - Hindu holy men. They do not work. So I am pretty sure its just a skit. Go watch Delhis best burger by Dale Philip. Thats more normal than these videos.
I don’t understand. Papa Meat said it himself: the people making the food often have the utensils right there for them to use. Why do they insist on using their bare hands and sticking them fully, sometimes up to the arm, inside the food itself? Besides practicality, even if their hands and arms are washed it just comes off as kind of gross.
Can we all just take a minute to respect the fact that practically none of papa meats thumbnails are just the lazy “:o” face of him and something random. Practically all of his thumbnails are pretty good and not clickbaity imo. Also, idk if I’ve ever noticed this before, but doesn’t hunter kinda look like he could control fire?

Ok I am the long paragraph guy for this video. I don't know why lol. I will explain 1 by 1 about the dishes you have presented here I am giving the generalized explanations here. Somethings vary from state to state. If I left something people add them to the replies 1. Yum Scrum/Chaat: Main Ingredient "Whole White Peas", varieties of spices, boiled potatoes, sometimes tomatoes, onions. Then its mixed with more spices, lemons, with sweet and/or sour(tamarind) juice brine. On that fried toppings are added (differs from state to state) and some normal and rock salt as per taste. No Corn 2. Sandwich/Kachori: Made with All Purpose Flour but thick and round/oval shapes. Its a Hard Fritter but hollow fried with Clarified butter/Ghee. It is being dipped in a curd concoction and a tamarind concoction. Curd concoction has curd, chaat masala, water, normal salt and rock salt. Generally the concoctions are served cold 3. Black Feet: Carambola or Star Fruit Juice. 4. Hand Meat: It's Mutton/Goat Meat: The red color is the color of oil mixed with spices. Its Mutton Curry 5. Foot Butcher: He has a blade in between 2 toes nothing much to explain 6. Fly Slop: These are pickles. since video is a bit pixelated I can only see there is mango pickle, dates pickle. That mid thing may be some spice. Its a veg pickles even if we know there are nonveg pickles 7. Fruit cocktail is same. No explanation needed 8. That Egg Cocktail concoction thingy is kind of a egg nog 9. Slob: its Yum Scrum/Chaat again. the only difference is here he makes a wall of it and then scrapes off the wall from inside to serve it hot. He is using carrots, beetroot, cilantro and coconut scrapes to beautify the wall. That red color BBQ puled pork is tamarind paste not pulled pork XD. Again no corn, all Whole White peas. 10. Hand in pot: this guy serving has many names. Puchka, Golgappa, Gupchup, Paanipuri. I dont know what that orange concoction is but the other pot is a mix of tamarind infused water, lemons, green chillies, ginger, cilantro, mint, normal salt and rock salt(russian powder lol), cumin powder, dry mango powder and it's served cold. 11. Baron Harkonen: Sweetend/unsweetened cream. Its kind of like whipped cream but kept in a large plate. Milk is poured on that, so it looks kinda heavy/floppy. That heavy cream is mixed with other ingredients to make it more sweet. 12. Rats in Kitchen: Those mini tortias are deep fried. They are called "Puri" generally served with some veg curry. 13. Master Chef 1. That is deep fried mini tortias/puris and probably Potato curry. I couldnt see it properly as to what curry it is. 14. Armpit Parkora are just fried fritters 15. Eating of the ground: No explanation needed 16. Soupy mess: its some variation of whole white peas and potato curry or simply potato curry with Puris. Those MCD fries are actually chillies. 17. Black Oil: That's Chickpea Flour Fritter served with green chilly pickle. Edit: These are explanations till 13:16

@@big.muscles.ohyeah And yes, I did make a mistake. Wasabi kills the bacteria and adds spice.

Poverty is not the issue. You can still be clean in an impoverished area.
Exactly! Take Afghanistan for example. Much poorer than India but Street Food there and also the Cities themselves are very clean!
To a point yes, and that point is a million miles beyond where this is at. Fully agree
As an Indian here's some info:
1) The "Sandwhich" is a variation of the Indian "Phuchka" or "Golgappa" which is supposed to be made while wearing gloves but yeah...
2) The "Yum-scrum" glop is basically boiled chickpea and mashed potatoes with some spices
3) The "Black Feet" video is definitely parody. The box of fruits is suspiciously clean for a guy with feet that dirty
4) The "Hand Meat" video is pretty misleading, the meat is actually goat's meat and the red liquid is probably the spiciest and best gravy anyone will ever taste.
The rest is actually disgusting
*edit: I suspect the McDonald's fries to be unripe mango slices or maybe chilli

Rat dropping can flatline you sooner than you think but the worst flies gonna do is a few extra tours to the washroom.
gotta consider that the flies are flying straight from the garbage/animal feces that they were eating and landing on the food with that on their feet.

Ok I am the long paragraph guy for this video. I don't know why lol.
I will explain 1 by 1 about the dishes you have presented here
I am giving the generalized explanations here. Somethings vary from state to state.
If I left something people add them to the replies
1. No Corn
2. Generally the concoctions are served cold
3. Black Feet: Carambola or Star Fruit Juice.
4. Hand Meat: It's Mutton/Goat Meat: The red color is the color of oil mixed with spices. Its Mutton Curry
5. Foot Butcher: He has a blade in between 2 toes nothing much to explain
6. Fly Slop: These are pickles. since video is a bit pixelated I can only see there is mango pickle, dates pickle. That mid thing may be some spice. Its a veg pickles even if we know there are nonveg pickles
7. Fruit cocktail is same. No explanation needed
8. That Egg Cocktail concoction thingy is kind of a egg nog
14. Armpit Parkora are just fried fritters
15. Eating of the ground: No explanation needed
16. Soupy mess: its some variation of whole white peas and potato curry or simply potato curry with Puris. Those MCD fries are actually chillies.
17. Black Oil: That's Chickpea Flour Fritter served with green chilly pickle.

If you think that being poverty is an excuse for these disgusting unhealthy food patterns, I’m from Sri Lanka south Asia’s poorest country as we go downhill day by day because of all the politicians have done all these years, Yet a beautiful and a Healthy country I can assure you.
I just woke up and was pondering breakfast and now I'm not hungry any more, thanks for that.
I love the idea that the grossness of rats being in the kitchen can be negated by whether or not the rats look like they're enjoying the food.
“The animal that eats trash and feces seems to like this dish so I’ll give it a go.”
@@punishedbung4902 You're not wrong, but consider the opposite; Food so nasty even the rats won't touch it.
I'm sure that exists somewhere in Asia, either India or further east, Asia in general seems to be a hub for the most heinous foods imaginable
Started off as a MeatCanyon fan but PapaMeat has become one of the pillars of my internet-enjoyment. And knowing that you have fun while making these just makes it even better.
Yeah, Papameat is so much better than that gross weirdo Meatcanyon.
Just saying the rat kitchen actually makes food for the rats its some temple or something with a ton of rats
still disgusting
I believe the rats are the reincarnation of children who died. At that temple, anyhow.
Still gross but now it's also dumb

these indian street food vids are crazy asf bro it got me questioning the legal system over there 😭
their government is largely corrupt and the population is too high and mostly dirt poor. Makes sense this stuff slips by
they dont have one, after they kicked britain out and went independent the country went to absolute shit and became a true hellhole with insane corruption. its why every single scam caller ever is indian.
I mean no offense when I say this, but do you not know that India is super classist? Have you ever heard of the caste system? I’m pretty sure it’s illegal now, but give it a google and you’ll see what I’m talking about. Even though it’s illegal, a lot of people still adhere to the ideas behind it.
I’ve never been to India, but if *this* has you questioning the legal system, you have a lot to learn unfortunately lol
@@kaylabristol3635No offense, but what the hell are you talking about? I believe the original poster was questioning the legal system behind their food inspections and how/why these are actually legitimate businesses considering the filth. Not a single mention about India’s caste society or the legalities of that, but thanks for the ever so condescending history lesson. I’ve never been to India so I unfortunately must learn more too. Will make sure to utilize Google as much as possible! Google “context”.
What legal system? lmao
Those are sacred rats at a temple, they are known as “kabbas” or “little children”… the food is made for them
That makes sense. I was wondering why they wouldn’t chase them away. So it is not for humans to consume in that case?
Praise be to the bubonic plague I guess. Cows? Sure, goats, fine. But rats?
That’s so cool, thank you for enlightening us!
🥺🥺 that’s so cute omg
They feed the rats intentionally? Just because they're rats at a holy place doesn't make them any different. Aren't there starving humans they could be feeding instead? You humans are so strange

Exactly. You don't have to be "privileged" to know better. I mean, even people who live in remote tribal villages know that rats are not good to have in you food.
