It's been a few good years since I quit league, and I agree with your comment 100%. It's like finally being free of a drug/alcohol addiction or finally breaking free from your toxic partner.
no i second this I felt the same about overwatch. I stopped playing last month and I am slowly feeling much better. I never realized how much time and emotional energy I wasted on that game until I was free of it. I am more productive and satisfied with my day.

@@Kawmbat_Veteran They said they quit, also you do realize how goofy it is that your being toxic in the comment section of a video about toxicity right?
Create 2 fake email accounts with them linked to each other as the back up and super random names / passwords then link your account to it. I have used that method to quit both wow and eso when in the thralls of addiction. I don't know if League has accruals on your account through expsrience but being locked out of an account which has years of your "achievement" you cant get back to kills your (or at least mine) capacity to enjoy the game when you inevitably return.

I had a friend on steam called Caspian Roach who just flat out refused to play competitive multiplayer games because at least 50% of the people playing walk away angry/frustrated/upset. Kinda absurd to think about yet at the same time she totally had a point. You play a single player game and it’s designed with the purpose of having fun. Stuff like Dota or CS:GO isn’t like that, it’s about overcoming a challenge against other players which takes a very long time to do.
Yeah I hate pvp in general. I'll stick to my bots It's important for me that if I don't find a game fun anymore I'll quit it for a bit and see if it's fun after a few weeks/months. I don't need to spend my time in misery.
I’ve tried playing Overwatch, League, The Finals, R6, Smite, all those games eventually just pissed me off when I’m trying to relax. Been getting into COD now and while it’s a much more basic game and has its own problems, in a weird way it feels a lot more casual and relaxed. It’s been a breath of fresh air lmao
I used to play them, but your friend is right. After a certain point it just becomes more frustrating than fun, and even if you remain chill there's always one asshat who blames anything but themselves even though they're usually at fault at least partially. Even in non-ranked matches people find a reason to be toxic. Combine that with predatory monetization and I just had no desire anymore to play them.
@@kyleb5927 That's how it is. You start focusing on climbing so every loss is like more frustrating and you're reaching your skillcap and get frustrated due to that as well.
Yes. It would be cool to see a monstrous transformation as the rage builds in them and then how these monsters started pulling others down with them into some pit of despair lol. Basically how a toxic community gets formed over time
Played league off and on for about a decade now. One of the most toxic communities ever if not THE number one. Ruthless game but man I keep coming back haha
Holy shit, I didn't expect to see Steven in this video at 17:49. He used to be our ranked team's top laner and was a surprisingly wholesome dude. We lost touch when the team disbanded. He started streaming and had some success with the whole thing. The last thing I knew, he got a face tattoo and started becoming increasingly more unhinged in the gaming community. That was 8-7 years ago.
You either stop playing League.. or play long enough to see yourself hide away in ARAM. I use to hardcore rank but the game is just too long and a noticable waste of time. 20+ minutes to go from winning to losing hardcore and raging.
Or play another game. Their are actually good games out there but you guys are so mindlessly addicted and brainwashed you forget their is a multi billion dollar industry producing actual art and well balanced game systems .
I remember chatting with a guy who, we went to the same middle school with, told me he got bad grades and dropped out of college for playing LOL, steered clear and never played ever.
Im one of the rare league players that doesnt rage or flame, my philosophy is why flame someone doing bad and make them do worse when you could just be like "its fine play safe and well win" or something and maybe stop or prolong them from tilting
@@hoodedrage720 well luckily for me the feelings of a random person don't affect my life, I'm sorry if YOU have a problem not raging at games but I don't, honestly not that hard not to get so upset to thr point I'm fuming over a video game, now I'm now saying I dont ever show any anger at all or never get annoyed, I just never rage because as a kid I broke enough shit and lost enough friends from being an overly angry person
I quit 8 years ago and never looked back. After over 20k hours played and being stuck in Plat at best, I realized I suck way too much to endure this suffering.
Its a team based game so its not your fault you're stuck in plat. Most players in low elo drag good players down. The trick to get out of low elo is to find a good player like yourself to duo all the time, but thats the hard part.
When the sun comes up after a full night of playing and your angrier than when you started you become allergic to the "post nut clarity" that you are wasting your life on a game
it's so wild to me how they're always so associated with being dirty and gross and judging from my personal exp with the handful of league players, it's 1000% correct.
Riot employees also leaked IceFrog's real name. IceFrog is the dev who took over Dota when the Riot bozos went to make League and was later hired by Valve to make Dota 2 with them. He famously avoids publicity and nobody knew who he really was. Until Riot leaked it. On a total accident. My ass.
in any online game, the second a person even starts slightly annoying me i mute them immediately; arguing in League does zero good for your life or happiness
Or you could just mute team chat. But tbh. If I have to feel lonely in a game because the people in it are too cringe to tolerate. I would rather do something else with my time. League of legends shoulda died years ago. Idk who is playing it lmao.
I need to practice this more. It's not what people say, it's the fact they actually got to me in such a way. Then I actually start sucking cause I lose focus.
Never touched this game, had an old "friend" that stole my credit card info and spent hundreds of dollars on it. When I tried to get my money back Riot refused, despite me not having an account registered. All I needed to know about the company and the people that play it. So I never bothered with anything related to it or Riot.
LoL is easily the most toxic shit I've ever played. I was so bad at it, and I got reported for "griefing" when this one guy just owned me in a match, it was insane I couldn't do shit against him, and they banned me for 2 weeks lmao. That was the last time I played that shit
I've been playing League for years, somehow I've never faced any real toxicity. Probably just too low rank for people to care about the game lol Ain't no shot league players are coming into the replies just to flame people on a video about the toxic community lmfao. Can't make this shit up.
@Alej_915 You got banned for two weeks because you did something far worse in retaliation or have been doing that repeatedly. All these "I just got banned i dunno!" stories are bullshit.
I always think that Leauge just crossed that line of popularity where in your game you get grown ass teammates, one pedofile and two angry kids. And you will never see the same team where you were playing as a NOOB with newbies or playing as an old fan with other “tryhard” players like before. I hope I said all correctly (kinda bad in English)
I somehow played it for four years, lost good friends because of what it turned us into, then never went back to that game again. I believe it.. even overwatch didn't bring the worst out of us like that game did.
@Whatisvr the problem is the friends who refuse to stop playing and essentially have a hidden Ultimatum that if you don't play with them enough, then they slowly start to hate you because it's a part of the Addiction and Addicts require a cult of similar addicts otherwise they realize how pathetic their lives are. Therefore many friends are lost, but in reality nothing is lost because they are addicted no life losers with no personalities outside of their Addiction.
I am happy seeing more and more people coming to dota from league, the dota community has gotten so much better over the years. It is just so damn complex with so many things to manage. that the only people that get into it are people with actual self control.

Smite player here. They are extremely toxic. Smite community is always trying to stop the toxicity but then it's inherent with competitive games because people are immature.

@@SauceBoyBeats really? never played it, but i'm genuinly surprised. because i've played mmos throughout my life, and i've never encountered a community that was, as whole (not just a certain guild or server etc) on the positive side. Right now, i play both league (since season 1) and dead by deadlight, and i know the meme is that league has the most toxic community, but i've yet to seen a more unwelcoming game for new players than dbd, and as much of a sweatfest at higher mmrs than there. But i believe what someone else already mentioned, it's mostly due to the online and competitive factors of mmos coming together to breed this.some more, some less. Some games evade it in their early days since people haven't gotten so attached yet, they won't be going for the maximum efficiency, a competitive scene wouldn't exist yet, etc, but eventually, in my experience, if a game goes long enough, sooner or later it becomes toxic.
League is just the mainstream one that's easy to hate. It's the same as hating limp biskit or Nickelback. People just like to find popular easy things to hate

This is why I try my hardest to avoid playing dungeons with others. I remember being a newbie tank in FFXIV and got blasted in my first dungeon because I was the only one who didn’t know the map. They scolded me for not practicing before playing and ran ahead of me or in different directions, intentionally getting hit by enemies so they could yell at me for not leading or taking the brunt of the damage, then told the healer to stop healing me because I didn’t know what agro and AOE meant. Healer went AFK and died while I tearfully turned off chat and just did what I could on my own (dungeons werent solo at the time so I had to play with other people). It was such a humiliating experience that I never touched the tank class again out of fear of letting people down. 😂
"Pls run your tank stance" "Oh you're pulling hey let me do the same even though I'm the dps" God I get annoyed by that, I'm just trying to run through the dungeon and leave.
Yeah might be why i prefer single player final fantasy freya, isn’t going to yell at me for letting her die in ff9, though those guys just seem like dicks their miserable, and are picky if things don’t go according to plan so other players might be nice, and let you have some lax, plus not bully you to tears they deserve nothing.
Haha I haven't had that experience as another ffxiv player but holy cow the passive aggression depending on the server your on is INSANE 😂 I one time died in a dungeon and it was my first time and a healer refused to heal me or rez me the entire time and wouldn't respond to me it wasn't till my husband chimed in reminding them I first time player in the dungeon and they just responded "oh sorry I didn't notice them my b" 😂
You learned the wrong lesson. You were letting down a bunch of losers who think an endless videogame is important somehow. Just stop playing that stuff. I've not played videogames since my daughter was born and man, in hindsight what a stupid waste of life it was.
League is the perfect example of people not enjoying a game, simply being addicted. There isn’t a single redeeming quality about League in 2024. It looks bad, it plays bad, it’s not rewarding to play anymore, and the community is utter dogshit. If every LoL player went to rehab they’d be out of business in a week.
Honestly the game is still fun. There are bad games and good games, but that's just how competitive games go. With the new gamemode it's probably the most fun it's ever been. Quick games with funny random builds that you can play with a friend? That's the perfect formula for fun.
I had played since 2013 and only stopped at the beginning of this year, game is not what it used to be and I simply no longer enjoyed it. That on top of most of my friends at the time being into it and constantly complaining when losing when I am just trying to HANG OUT WITH MY FRIENDS BRO. Oh yeah I saw the other day they are coming out with a 500 dollar skin too that the community will complain about but will do literally nothing except keep playing. I know it is not "dying" like some people will exaggerate with but god it is in a gross, sad little spot.
I had a sudden urge to watch Papa Meat, and searched him to see this video was posted 2 minutes ago. We are now psychically linked, you have no choice. Good luck.
With the long duration, team play and snowballing mechanics, you can spend a half hour on a game you already know you will lose and for it to not be your fault. If somebody drops early, you can confidently predict a loss. Any single player on your team, through malice, incompetence, or inexperience, can doom you to a depressing spiral of failure.
Biggest problem with online battle royales such as league is the matchmaking group mmr don’t work when half the time one person is compensating for majority of mmr sinking good competitive play with bad random play and no one will ever fix it because why make a game more competitive when you can just make more money taking the path with the least amount of work and effort i swear gaming industry is as a whole is a dead horse us consumers wanna ride but know it ain’t going nowhere. As a wise gamer once said: “GG…”

I gotta tell yah meat, im in the hospital rn because my lung collapsed and thanks to your funny ass vids I’ve laughed myself into the icu. Thank you truly 😂😂
As someone who’s two years clean from For Honor I think I can understand where some LoL people are coming from. LoL, and other games like it, is like toxic relationship you just can’t leave. Deep down know the other person is a narcissist and doesn’t truly care about you but you refuse to admit it because you cling on to the “good times” when you did feel special and you felt like you were meant to be together. You may get angry at yourself for not being good enough and not deserving of the affection you were once shown but that couldn’t be further from the truth. People who play LoL like this yearn for the “good times” and will attack anyone who gets in their way.
My brother tried it once as a healer, immediately said,” this is bad for my health.” And uninstalled cuz he said “bro the bots were saying slurs this is a dumpster fire I got told to go everywhere and was doing everything wrong, I legit never played and they expected so much.” I’m glad I never started. You could recommend quitting? As in you're able to but won't? Bro the school systems failed you SO badly😂

The worst part about League is the 30-day queue to delete your account.
Yep cause in those 30 days I'll be back lol
Yeah i guess it’s why people get withdrawals, and need to play it.
I just spammed an absolute onslaught of racial slurs harnessed through years and years of meaningless 4chan abuse in a game and that did the trick.

I'll stick to my bots
It's important for me that if I don't find a game fun anymore I'll quit it for a bit and see if it's fun after a few weeks/months. I don't need to spend my time in misery.
Yeah I had to quit Starcraft 2. What was worse was as I got better (top Diamond, going into Masters) I got more and more angry and frustrated.

If you lost multiple friends over a video game you might have some deeper issues lol

Some games evade it in their early days since people haven't gotten so attached yet, they won't be going for the maximum efficiency, a competitive scene wouldn't exist yet, etc, but eventually, in my experience, if a game goes long enough, sooner or later it becomes toxic.

Honestly the game is still fun. There are bad games and good games, but that's just how competitive games go.
With the new gamemode it's probably the most fun it's ever been. Quick games with funny random builds that you can play with a friend? That's the perfect formula for fun.
