    What Is HOMA IR Test?
     HOMA IR is an indirect insulin measurement, and through the HOMA IR calculator you can know your body’s insulin resistance. Conditions like type 2 diabetes and other illnesses like hypertension, cardiovascular disease and cancer can be caused due to insulin resistance. Even if your blood sugar levels are within normal ranges, insulin resistance suggests that blood sugar may increase in the future.

    Very good info from Ms.(Dr?) Vineesha Reddy for diabetes management. Also busts lot of myths around usual line of treatment followed by most doctors, like not getting HOMA / C-Peptide test done to check efficiency of pancreas in producing insulin, as diabetes is a metabolic disorder, not a disease per se. It can be managed with proper diet control (low carb), exercise, and other lifestyle changes as Ms. Reddy says in this clip. Adding to her tips, switching from cereals like rice or wheat, having millets helps a lot, as it is low GI and doesn't spike BS like rice/wheat does. Hard for taste-focused diabetics though 🙂

    Btw, there is no HOMA test , it’s a calculation based on your fasting insulin

  • @guthealthsimplified
    @guthealthsimplified 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

    High fasting insulins is called as hypeinsulimia which happens when you over eat processed carbs and lead a sedentary lifestyle . This high insulins can lead to pcos . After a point of high insulin , your pancreas give up and that’s where u go through a stage of pre diabetes and type 2 diabetes . With type 2 diabetes , pre diabetic and insulin resistance stage , your triglycerides can shoot up . As a part of annual blood work , get fasting insulin checked . If you have pcos get HOMA test done . The reversal of diabetes depends on age , pancreas’s functionality . Esteogen imbalance can impact insulin levels in the body . Am not against medical or dr advise , but type diabetes is 99% a lifestyle disease and just taking medicines won’t fix this

      The problem with hypoglycemic drugs like secretogagues will squeeze Pancrase forcefully and produce more insuline.type 2 diabetic itself is a condition of hyperinsulinemia. Drugs will cause more hyperinsulinemia and it ll cause more resistant. Patient s pancrease will fail very soon by the drugs .

    what about the drugs to be used in metabolic diseases in kids?
    Metabolic disease is not only about diabetes.there are many others.
    Pls dont spread half knowledge and just what u read in certain books.
    Life style modification is def an imp part of any treatment process..but only upto a certain level.after that u need some drugs or surgical options.
