    DJI has done it again, they’ve produced another winner that will set the standard for others to follow. Sure the video quality isn’t fantastic compared to their other drones, but for the price, performance and capabilities it’s a winner straight out of the box. And knowing DJI,mtge updates will continue to make it even better.

      4K is pretty damn good and the EIS seems to do the job.
      I'm REALLY bothered about the lack of SD card though...

    For ages there are many creators who want to have drone footage without needing to learn a new hobby and this drone is perfect, i can have it in my bag, whip it out and take a 2 mins footage and and I have a nice b roll.

      @lonerider68 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@NeilEvery Why? The Neo also shoots 4K30. It will be at lower true detail and dynamic range... but I think it could work esp considering it $200. While 4K120 is common now, I've seen people sneak in 1080p120 upsampled to 4K and for a 3-5 second clip it isn't that bad.
      Also for people with higher budgets... the HoverAir X1 Pro has a Type-1/1.3" sensor (same size as iPhone 15 Pro Max, Samsung 24 Ultra, and Google Pixel 9 Pro Max) and can do 4K60 and 1080p120 (for $600). Hover X1 Pro Max (not any larger) can do 8K30, 4K120, 4K60 HDR (HLG 10bit). They are on an IndieGogo with a new "delivery guaranteed" where if it doesn't ship by Oct 31, 2024 - indiegogo gives you the options to refund all of your money.

      @@Andyrewk That's a good point about needing Part 107 for *any* of non-recreational usage (even if it is not for money). But AFAICT, the FAA is kind of lax about enforcing it and only uses to add extra punishment to someone who screws up excessively. Given the ridiculous things creators do (like crashing a plane with GoPro attached to it in a National Park, or someone jumping a car it off a steep hill in LA and crashing it parked cars) I think not having a Part 107 license is the least of their crimes.

So much of what it does and the way it does it is based on last years Hover X1. The price of the Neo is very nice but I’d have to immediately dismiss it because it’s not foldable like the Hover X1 and it looks like the Neo is too slow. That was the problem with the first Hover X1. Couldn’t keep up with you when cycling or mountain biking. But the saving grace for the Neo is its cheap price.

Follow a suspicious person etc. hopefully one day they will come out with a security camera drone. I could see it now. Have it’s own docking station to charge. Have motion detector meters around your house to set off the drone to turn on and go to the area of movement etc. as I write this my ring camera notifications are popping up. It would be nice to have a drone to fly around my house to see what’s going on all in the comfort of my bed.

    As usual, an extremely coherent, informative review. When this drone was in the "rumor" stage (yesterday) the price being floated was around $350. Just under the Hover 1. With a $199 actual price, DJI has, once again, stomped all over the competition. With much better features, there is almost no comparison with the Hover 1. The only knock against the Neo is the prop noise. Sounds like the Avata 1.

    • @wesleyp3579
      @wesleyp3579 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    I am not sure if Neo's specific high noise pitch has already been discussed in a little more depth anywhere, but that specific high pitch will be a tough one, at least for me since it doesn't correspond well with my tinnitus😏.
    Besides my personal preferences, off course we are all used to "droning out" the different frequencies of our drones in close proximities. but this is DJI 's first drone that is meant to fly v e r y close to you a lot, acting basically as a virtual camera to replace selfie sticks.
