Howrah-Bilaspur-nagpur is the most Congested Freight route in india. I have been through this route over hundred times,all premium trains,the average delay is 6-7 hours. This route has 4 tracks in many place and 3 tracks in rest,stilm this extreme congestion exist. This route must be decongested fast. Nagpur-mumbai on the other hand have been decongested and it has Dedicated Freight corridor in 60% of the places. This route has 110 speed limits,still train runs 800-900km in less than 12 hours Unlike Howrah Nagpur route which has 130kmph speed,but 900 km takes around 20hours that too with confirm delay of 6-7 hour. You can understand the logistical challenge here. Secondly personally i believe, Vijaywada-chennai-bangalore-hyderabad-pune this traingle needs High speed freigh transport as well as high speed Rail infra. This triangle is the technology hub of india and most possibly the Gdp hub of india,so it must has access to infrastructure projects

Check again . I believe Eastern is complete. Although I am sure that Western is around 80-90% complete.. work ongoing in Gujarat and Maharashtra sections.
People also need 4 or 6 lane passenger tracks. Without more tracks, railways will not be able to carry more passengers at a constant speed of 160 km per hour.
Ideally these 3 DFCs should be targeted to be completed by around 2030 (max 2032). 5-7 years are more than enough here. Post 2030, work should begin on constructing the missing links to complete a comprehensive DFC map in India. 1. Tenali to Chennai DFC (Completes East Coast DFC) 2. Itarsi to Dadri (NCR) DFC (Completes North-South DFC) 3. New West Coast DFC (JNPT Port to Bengaluru). Post all this if reqd. work can start on North East DFC (Sonnagar to Guhawati) & extention of Eastern DFC from Ludhiana to Jammu. This would be done primarily from strategic purposes, as these 2 DFCs can be used then to transport military equipments faster during any emergency.
In earlier regimes we used to hear or read such news, but they never used to materialize. This government is the reason why people believe that when a project is announced, that would be completed in a reasonable time.
