Me too! When I FINALLY figured out how to braid my own hair, for whatever reason, I braided dutch style, but when I braid someone else's hair, I braid the regular way.

OMG the star trek hold is game changer !!!! Can't thank you enough. Gotta rest my arms a bit (and I swear to you I work out A LOT and it still hurts braiding) and try again. Hopefully it will look good enough so I can post a pic and tag you. THANKS. Love from France 🇫🇷

As one of the people who (have tried) and can’t braid well, this is the BEST tutorial I’ve ever seen! It makes sense and super easy steps! I actually managed a (rough) braid on my daughter’s hair.....and this video was how I found your channel too 😁 now I watch all the time haha! I’ve learned so much about my hair and hair in general....maybe one day I’ll be confining my hair but these tutorials help so much! Thank you!

  • @iapples38

The holding cell and spock hand method is the best I've seen!! No one else really even shows consistent finger movements and teaches you how to do it. Thanks!

Wow! The best explanation of a Dutch braid that I've come across, I feel as though I may be able to do this, just gotta figure out how to keep the bottom length of my hair from plaiting/knotting up as I go 🤔

I LOVE your metaphors! For whatever reason, THIS has "dumbed" it down for me in such a way that I can FINALLY start getting the hang of it! I have long hair and have always wanted to be able to do wicked cool braids but have never found a tutorial that explains it in such a way so I can visualize it and recreate it on myself. FIRST successful dutch braid since I tried to start learning how a YEAR ago!!! THANK YOU!!

Hi Kayley! I have no idea if you're going to see this, but I have to say you're a huge inspiration for me... I've always loved doing my hair and I'm fairly decent at it, but you've really helped me expand what I'm able to do and I've tried sooooo many new hairstyles because of it. Also, I just love your style of video and you're just amazing in general.

Kayley!! You are my inspiration too. I used to be damaging my long hair by just putting it in a ponytail every day. After my hairdresser pointed this out, noticing the line of breakage, I explored how to do braids for school. Then I found you. Fast forward 4 years and I constantly braid my hair, I've done formal hair for myself and friends at least 8 times, I've even come up with some of my own hairstyles from learning techniques from your videos. I'm so grateful for your videos. Keep it up!! 💕

I'm a 35 year old lady who's never been able to braid my own hair. I've never done anything to my hair, it either just hangs there or I put it either in a ponytail, or what I have now learned is a /chignon/ (felt instantly 5 times more fancy about my lazy hairstyle once I knew it had a name, lol) - With your beginners tutorials, I really feel like I'll be able to do more with my hair. I did a fishtail braid today for the first time ever with your tutorial! Can't wait to try out more and see if I can actually get the hang of it! Thank you 🖖

Thank u sooo much for makin this video!!! Ive always known how to french braid other peoples hair but never learned how to do it on myself. ive been dyin to learn! (other than a simple, plain braid). Ive been dyin to learn n e braid on myself. I've tried so many other videos but failed miserably. I just couldn't do it bc they would go too fast or not explain or how to do it. I'm sooo grateful that u did break it down and explain each step! Finally I can practice this new style on myself. I needed a new hair style badly. U motivate me to want to look & feel better after becoming disabled from serving the Army. I love ur videos! Thanks again!!!

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!! This was SO HELPFUL! All of the other tutorials just told me to part it and "braid it" and I was like how tho? And you even helped me with the holding of the hair that I knew I was pretty mediocre at but now I cam braid so much easier! keep up the good work!!!

My daughter has been asking me to do a dutch braid and it looked so complicated I didn't know if I'd really be able to, but this is so easy to understand and follow I'm confident can! Thank you!
Also, just wanted to let you know you are so beautiful and I LOVE your eyebrows!! I'll be looking for a tutorial on that 😉

Your tutorials are amazing! How do you do the Dutch braid so that it goes down the back of your head and not so close to the ear?

You're welcome! If it helps, I couldn't do a French braid on myself until I was 18. We all start somewhere!
