Never really appreciated the post Knox line ups until I saw this. Fabulously shot while under combat conditions. Great to see them in a small club which is where Lux exels. He gives his all when he can see the terror in the front row's eyes.
I saw them in 1986 and certainly in those years Lux was really scary: with the microphone in his throat he seemed to have epilepsy in a riot of sweat and drool.. I had never seen a punk audience stop the pogo and retreat from the stage line in a mix of respect and anxiety..!

Lux was what Iggy Pop should've been after the 90s, really ahead of his time. Ivy Poison was just dangerously sexy and a skilled guitar player. That Surfin Bird version is the best ive seen, each minute building up to chaotic and debauchery highlights, Lux acted like a real maniac, I HAD TO BE THERE
Saw them in Denver twice. Total energy. Total conviction. Lux wore vinyl pants that got stripped off by people in the front row. But no police, no SWAT teams and no bitches from Social Services.
Surfing fucking bird. Will never be the same after The Cramps made it into a mad psychedelic churn. It was one of my favorite songs as a kid. Too bad the Cramps didn't cover the old civil war song "Eating goober peas".
I watched this all the way through nonstop and loved it! But... by 1995 this was the same kind of well-oiled give-em-what-they want musical machine that the B52s had also become. Lux barely vertical and barfing onstage while opening for Talking Heads in Macomb IL in 1978 is a loooooong way from this well-rehearsed, Branson-worthy schtick on his part. He is dangerously close to a parody of himself. The band, however, is shriekingly excellent! Been a fan since forever, always will be.
Okay, ... (never) let´s put the cRAmPS into the same line as the fast-as-hell-is-hot-mainstreamed b 52dis´n´dat. But otherwise you´re completely right (Lux had forgotten, that stages also had floors to roll over - - - but eventually had serious back-problems, who knows?)!! Nevertheless: The MOST incredible, galore band ever, what walked over that strange globe (even with those two pale ughs beside/aka behind). They were what REAL(!!!!) R&R was ALL ABOUT ! ! !

PSB Custard Tell ya what mate, I've gotta 5120 Electromatic with a pair of TV Jones pickups and its hard to tell the difference .I run it thru a 100 watt Fender champion with a fuzz box. Ya can't beat " That great Gretsch sound"
Never got the chance to see them live (I didn’t even exist yet)… so thankful for stuff like this. Literally immortalized.

It's another Gretsch and Ivy sounds great. 6120 was misbehaving and wouldn't stay in tune so she used the backup.
