  • In this video I will show how to make a jigsaw blade clamp... If you're like me, and received an old vintage jigsaw that you love, and broke pretty much immediately... Power tool repair time!

I recently received this old jigsaw, and find that it's way better than my Black & Decker jigsaw, but I think I tightened the blade clamp/holder too much, and it broke. In the beginning, I wasn't sure if I would be able to repair it, but I fixed it on the first try, drilling the holes perfectly even without measuring! I'm really happy with the outcome of this repair and hope to use it for many more projects! I think this might even be better, helping me cut more accurately using my jigsaw!

What the hell is "chinesium"? I have never heard that word in my life. It took me completely out of this video.

Oh. This is the definition of chinesium: www.reddit.com/r/Justrolledintotheshop/comments/62a334/well_shit_today_seems_to_be_post_your_chinesium/
      And this: www.reddit.com/r/Chinesium/comments/4caxqr/these_chinesium_drill_bits_should_hold_up_well/
Basically Chinese junk that's impossible to use because it's so horribly made, mostly the fault of the materials used.

You mean cheap? Why didn't you just say that? I have literally never heard anyone say chinesium. I don't even know if I'm saying it right. Chin-isum? ugh, I'm so angry! don't klnow why.

Thanks to this video I was actually able to find a piece of metal with a built in grove saving me the step of grinding in a grove. The 1/2” conduit clamps come with a grove already built in so all I did straighten out the metal, cut it to size and drill in the two holes. It works great!! Thanks for the idea.

Aha. It really did feel like some type of cast aluminum with sand grains mixed into it.
It's still new, just a bit bent, as expected.

Is this a jigsaw fence, or are you going to make a clamp out of aluminum flat bar? I don't think it'll last. It probably isn't worth the effort.

my super expensive badass heavy duty professional germanium(made in chinium) brand jigsaw, brake its without tool blade holder in something more than one year of continue use and slighty after warranty expired. it cost me another 80 euro to repair it. i start missing my 20+ years old diy brand jigsaw with hexagon tool holder

Yonatan24 most likely. I just need to get money to buy more materials now. I ran out and used my last 20 bucks to buy the camera. Its the kodak easyshare z980 with 24x zoom. Its a mirrorless camera and its goes for about 150 on amazon and i bought it used on a app called letgo for 20bucks. He said he bought it and it wasnt what he was looking for. Lucky me!

I don't have an angle grinder, they are big, loud, scary, and pretty dangerous if you use them incorrectly, I prefer cutting steel by hand and feeling safe. I actually have a video coming soon in a few weeks about an angle grinder tip/trick... :)
I use my Dremel rotary tool for bunch of stuff, mostly for cutting thin, hardened steel, which I can't cut with a hacksaw because hardened steel can't cut hardened steel, while a cutoff disk can. I actually have a playlist of projects you can make with only a rotary tool: th-cam.com/play/PL1ekTfyu7SIU7oIIB-y-fMP-AfOpENoRs.html
