- It Worked! The acoustic guitar binding channel was cut clean and the binding fits perfectly. It is tricky cutting the binding channel for an acoustic guitar so I am pleased this went so well. Without a doubt this part of the acoustic guitar building process makes me very nervous.
Now for the hard part! Cutting the binding channel on the acoustic guitar top in preparation for the armrest. That acoustic guitar back makes me nervous but this terrifies me because I don't want to make a mistake on the top...ever!!!!!

Yes, on a classical guitar.
Maybe I missed it, but what did you spread on the edges of the guitar?
It's likely shellac to seal the end grains. That way it's less likely for for the wood to chip away in splinters as the router bits cuts, making for a cleaner cut with less fraying at the edges.
I painted on some shellac to prevent tear out. I still got some tear out on the top though. You'll see that soon. lol
