+mason jack That's a very nice thing to write. Thank you for taking the trouble to comment, we always appreciate hearing words of encouragement or advice. x
+ewstuber Thanks very much. It was our first attempt at anything like this, and I got the mic mixed up a few times. We enjoyed it, but it was a long day!
The RNLI's "one in eight" figure is suspect an has been discussed on the YBW forums (thread "It's MUCH more dangerous than I had previously assessed") . The RNLI is great and you should of course be very careful but this headline is ultimately damaging because it does not tally with most sailor's experience and will be dismissed. Actual survey data available at rnliyachting.substance.net
Interesting comment, +Tammy Norie, thanks for posting the link. When you say this is 'suspect', do you have any evidence to counter the results of the survey, like another survey? I couldn't see the results of the survey in the link you supplied - did I overlook it? [Jamie]
It's not that the survey is false, but the deduction that one in eight fall overboard is dodgy. The survey is self-selected, for a start. Note that everyone who fell overboard survived to fill in a survey, so you could also deduce that falling overboard is 100% survivable! A lot of sailors just don't seem to believe the one in eight figure.
There's a whole long thread about it on the YBW forums so I won't reproduce all the arguments here. I can't post the URL here so you'll need to search, sorry. Don't fall overboard! :)
+Tammy Norie I found the ybw thread here, it's a long one... www.ybw.com/forums/showthread.php?435079-It-s-MUCH-more-dangerous-than-I-had-previously-assessed
Nice Video, well done. I have seen a lot boat show summerys on TV, most of them was boring, yours have been so entertaining and interesting. Thanks.
Hey +Doc Honk, thanks for the kind words. Good to know you enjoyed the coverage. Cheers, Jamie and Liz
I really enjoyed this video, very informative.
+Bradshaw TX Thanks so much for taking the time to comment! And glad you found the vid informative.
Your interview with the Top Sail insurance was very interesting, one of those things you don't always think about when planning to go cruising.
Yeah, and there was loads more we could have covered too, +Erich Brann. Unfortunately we had limited time at the show.

Nice one, thanks for saying that, it's appreciated. We'll keep striving to improve our videos. Cheers, Jamie and Liz

Lots of great info here. Excellent video. I can't make it to all the shows, so it's cool to see what's there!
And that was just scratching the surface, +Floating Away
Pretty good mic, clear sound in spite of all the wind.
A combination of mics there, +bandolero515. Sound levels still need playing with but we wanted to publish this before Jamie returned to Thailand.
+followtheboat I keep thinking you're holding a hair troll.
+Tammy Norie I know! That's exactly what it looks like...hehehe
Enjoying your videos, and the sound is very professional now, well worth the money getting that mic.
+zeb123dee123 Great to know that you can hear a difference. We're experimenting and practising with each episode...
Enjoyed your video....aren't boat shows fun!
+Dick Dixon Yes they are! But when you spend all day filming without a break they can be a bit tiring. Next time we're definitely going for longer...
