I used a wood burning cookstove for 27 years. That kitchen and scullery are fully functional for me. What an incredibly beautiful home. I love everything about it.
My friend inherited a Victorian celery vase from her great-grandmother. For those who could afford it, there was a special dish for every type of food. I have an asparagus plate. This is a great house, so well preserved and presented. I follow several Victorian house restoration channels, and love historic house tours. This home had everything! You were fortunate to have the docent to yourself. Always great to find another history aficionado. Cheers!
What a wonderful tour of a beautiful, exquisite, and historic Second Empire house! Wow! That place is gorgeous! Thanks for allowing me to come along on this tour with you. Kudos goes to the fantastic docent!
It always breaks my heart to see old houses abandoned and neglected. So much workmanship goes into them, it's horrible to see such artistry ignored and abused.
I have a handmade giant grater by my great grandfather ,large grater like in this kitchen. My great grandma did cabbage on it, for saurekraut. She had big vats of it in her kitchen. The smell was gross. I hated saurkraut. They were from Czhechlovakia, they loved it.

10:45 mark, that boiler system, I just love that. What a wonderful presentation of this historic house.
This was so enjoyable!!! So delightful to have a private tour.
I have never seen an original built in stove or soapstone sink before! Original kitchens are my favorite!

There's a sausage called keeshka that my Polish grandmothers would make...I had to leave the house when it was cooking, the smell was so awful!
