One of my favorite guitar sounds ever is that achived by Jimi that fortunate day, July 1st 1970 when he recorded Pali Gap, Hey Baby and Dolly Dagger at Electric Lady. The Flying V and the Univibe at quite fast speed vibrato mode, magic!
The Flying V made so much sense from different points of view. Jimi loved it✌️ You mention some great songs/tones here. Some of the magic is in the Vibe not in the Chorus mode actually and I think the Vibe mode is a perfect match with the Flying V 🎸☮️
Hey Baby is one of my favorite recordings of his. Operatic.
Enjoyed that very much, thanks. That's a really nice sounding V you've got!👍
Thanks a lot ✌️ Happy to hear you enjoyed the vid 🎸☮️
Thank you very much for these videos you make
Thank you for this motivation 👍
Terrific sound with that rig, and a very informative video.
Man…thanks ✌️ I‘m happy you enjoyed the informative part, too 👍🎸🔥
Awesome video
Thanks 🙏 I’m happy you enjoyed it ✌️🎸
That Dolly Dagger sound is really spot on. Very nice!
Thanks for your kind feedback!
Nice sound!
Thank you 👍🎸✌️
You should make a cover of one of those songs that Jimi played with that Flying V (Red House, Doggy Dagger, Freedom, Ezy Rider, Hey Baby) 😁🙏
Thanks man, I’d love to do that, but TH-cam and copyrights is a very strict thing - they already blocked several of my live videos. That’s why I always slightly adapt Jimi licks in my videos. Fortunately, I’m a heavy live gigging musician so I keep wielding that Flying V for the live audience 😀
Thank you so much brother.. 🙌❤️
i just need this info how to find a good tone with humbucker like Jimi did..
Thanks for your great feedback ✌️☮️🎸
Here's a fun fact on that Flying V, the Volume and Tone controls were wired as if they were on a right handed guitar iow to turn the guitar up would move in a clockwise motion looking at it from the front, this cut out the confusion moving from the right handed Strat to the V
Thanks. Yeah that could definitely be! I have a lefty Strat for actually left-handed playing and it’s wired vice versa. No wonder good ole Jimi was confused 😃🎸✌️
Very cool vid! Did you use the g12h 55hz speakers in this video?
Thanks! Yes I did use them 👍
The Jimi Hendrix Flying V at the Isle of Wight 😎✌🏽- an iconic moment! What setup are you using to capture that Hendrix vibe?
Check my recent video where I explain my setup in detail ✌️

For the Flying V tones I never use Fuzz 🎸☮️
klingt klasse.
Vielen lieben Dank 😊
I would be interested in knowing your plexi settings for a strat if possible please?
I‘ve shown the settings in form of a picture early in the video. I don’t change it for the V. I play so many gigs that it would be way too complicated too adjust the settings always. I work with the volume and tone on my guitar 🎸
@@MikelBluni thanks so much
Love your playing brother very cool!
@@larmorart7830 I have to thank you my friend ✌️🎸☮️
Sehr sehr aufschlussreich und gut erklärt 🤘🤘👍👍
@@a.obermann1273 Vielen lieben Dank ✌️🙏🔥🎸
Nice Gibson! Neck specs please? It’s a chuncky neck or slim taper D?
Thanks. It’s not super fat, just about right. Don’t know what they call that profile. Slim Taper D sounds valid ✌️🎸☮️
@@MikelBluni thank you so much
Excuse me. You mean volume 1 or 2 of a total of 10 that the knob has ? And even then you roll of the tone ? I never imagined that. When I use fuzz and want to clean I reduce volume to 5 and even there I feel weird because I heard players only roll back to 8 or 7. I would try it. Thank you,
Yes I mean the regular 0-10 volume knob. Pls bear in mind that different PUs and electronics react differently. I don’t use Fuzz in this video. Thanks for your feedback ✌️
The guitar is great but what are you playing through? That has much more of an inpact on the sound.
Thanks a lot ✌️☮️✌️🎸
Great video, very informative. But... you need to compress your audio so that your voice sounds at the same volume as the guitar
Thanks 🙏 Man, guitar has always to be the loudest 🙃🤯
