Olympus DIC/NIC Phase Contrast Microscope Condenser Nomarski - before and after service.

For DIC, I thought the condenser position setting is the same as for Brightfield since the two prisms are located outside of the condenser (one above the objective and one above the light source).
Whereas for Phase Contrast the condenser position setting requires the annulus.
Is this correct ?
