I finally managed to acquire a rare Nomarski NIC Intermediate Tube to finish off my NIC setup. Mixing 70% Isopropanol for MICROSCOPE SLIDE CLEANING

In this video I mix up 100ml of 70% Isopropanol for glass cleaning duties in microscopy and general lab applications. This blend is effective at attacking bacteria on slides etc, as the water slows the evaporation rate of the Isopropanol, as well as attacking bacteria and viruses in its own way. Thanks for watching! I took a water sample from Leschenault estuary around the Australind area. This is an amoeba I found in a very busy sample of microscopic life. The focus knobs keep on coming loose on my unit causing them to not hold position. What tool was used to tighten? I presume it's something like an angle grinder's wrench.
The chrome tool for the eyepieces is a camera lens repair spanner/wrench from ebay. Try and get one with pins on one end, and a flat blade on the other.

My channel focuses mainly on the microscopic life found in water. This one is an Amoeba. It crawls around eating debris and tiny bacteria. In this case, it decided to envelop something more substantial. If you see some of my other videos, you might get an idea of what living organism it may have consumed. In this case, I'm just as confused what that meal started out as 😆. Thanks for watching!

Why is your blood so clumped together and why is there so much of it
I add a small blood drop to the left side of the slide cover slip and allow capillary action to pull it in. That tends to clump them up as the water previously on the slide acts as a barrier. Thanks for watching !
