Can I do this on my sentro 22 needles knitting machine?

Hi Mary! I am making a baby blanket for may goddaughter and am considering adding her name to one of the stripes. In the past I have used a double stitch method to add patterns on my finished knitting. That was always a single layer and not a connection of tubes. Do you have any advice on how to double stitch (embroil) a name on this blanket?

You can try to do surface crochet or duplicate stitch before closing the tube end. I'm not real good at either of these but I think it would work just fine.
