You alluded to this, but just to make the point very clearly: No one will accidentally get the Mark of the Beast. It is a deliberate choice to bow to his image and worship him. For the believers who will refuse: Revelation 13: 10 "If anyone is to be taken captive, to captivity he goes; if anyone is to be slain with the sword, with the sword must he be slain. Here is a call for the endurance and faith of the saints." So the solution for the saints (true believers) is faith and obedience and not loving their own lives even if it means captivity or death. They are written in the Lambs Book of Life and will overcome.

You make an excellent point. It is a real stretch trying to find America in Revelation and though I don't know this to be true, I strongly suspect that America is currently under judgement. If we continue on our present trajectory America may soon no longer be a super power - which would explain why we do not see America in Revelation.
Did you notice how concise God is? The first beast came up from the sea (where the sea represents an area that is densely populated) and this beast has parts of other beasts. A beast in prophetic language is a political system and here God is telling us that this sea beast is a conglomerate of the four kingdoms that came before it. Then God tells us that the other beast came from the land, not the sea, it came about from a sparsely populate area, opposite to the sea. The first beast has components of other beasts but this land beast is lamb like. And who is the lamb, Jesus,. So this beast is Christ like in its beginning but will eventually speak like the dragon (empowered by Satan) and will join with the sea beast to persecute God's people. I noticed he didn’t mention the buying and selling which is all part and parcel of the mark so why would he leave that out….unless it doesn’t fit his theology…. It's good to see you've got the understanding of what the mark of the beast actually is unlike most in the church, it seems, who can't seem to understand it. Also what do you think about the fact that the beast 'out of the sea' refers to the sea of Gentiles. Because in biblical analogy, the sea represents the Gentiles. It is, therefore, a Gentile kingdom in the line of Babylon, Medo/Persia, Greece and Rome. It is descibed as having seven heads because the number seven represents completion, seven complete days in the week etc. And in this case it is the chronologically complete Gentile kingdom throughout history as described in Daniel. The beast 'out of the earth' Rev 13:11 is not a Gentile kingdom because it is described as being out of the earth and not out if the sea.

Hoi Michiel, I would be careful quoting from the Torah. After the stoning of Stephen, the bible calls it "The Synagogue of Satan". They are still not allowed to read Isaiah #53. They received 70 "7's" for not following the Law (regression see Dn 9:24) of Lev 25:11. After the last "7", they were kicked out of the Holy Land and their Temple was destroyed. God turned his back to them. (for 40 Jubilee) They still don't follow the Law, now that they are back in the Holy Land. There is still no Sabbath year given to the Holy Land. They don't even know, what year is Sabbath, or what year is Jubilee. (Jeremiah 2:32) That is why they are not allowed to build a Temple. Why does no one link this to a dragon or dinosaur give life to the image of the beast, is he not described like a dragon i think you look into this way to much. I think I can show more clearly that the seventh and eighth head in Rev17 is the first and second beast, respectively, in Rev13. Starting with the ten horns. In 17:12 it says “the ten horns which you saw are ten kings who have received no kingdom as yet, but they receive authority for one hour as kings with the beast.” If you jump over to Rev13 you’ll see the ten horns on the first beast have crowns, which represents their authority. vs2 “The dragon gave him his power, his throne and great authority” Then back in Rev17 it says in vs13 about the horns, “These are of one mind, and they will give their power and authority to the beast.” Jump up to vs17 and it says almost the same thing, “God has put it in their hearts, to fulfill His purpose, to be of one mind and to give their kingdom to the beast. Going back to Rev13 and the second beast, “he exercises all the authority of the first beast in his presence” So the first beast with the ten horns and ten crowns gives their authority to the second beast in Rev13. Who is this second beast? I believe it is the eighth head of the Rev17 beast. vs8, 11 “The beast that you saw, was and is not, and will ascend out of the bottomless pit….the beast that was, and is not, is himself also the eighth and is of the seven…” The beast in Revelation 17 represents a history of kingdoms in that area of the world and two future kingdoms, the seventh and the eighth. So in essence it represents all the kingdoms in that area from the beginning to the end. In Rev13 we are shown the last two kingdoms. Revelation can not be read like it all just happens in order. It is in sections and from different perspectives. Sometimes John is seeing things from the perspective of being in heaven and sometimes he is seeing things from the perspective of being on earth.

U have some things right but not all of it. The first beast of revelation 13 is speaking of world government. It consist of Babylon ( mouth--speak great things) Media Persia ( feet) Greece ( body) and Rome (heads) as Daniel 7 shows. It is however ruled by the heads. The ruling head that was wounded and healed is the sixth head of the beast. The lamb like horned dragon speaking beast is the seventh head but was distinguished from the beast as it was not in existence at the time the other beast existed. Revelation 17:9 gives the heads as Rome. To determine which power or head was wounded and healed we just need to determine what entity of Rome exists from roman days and we find that as the papacy. To find the seventh head or the lamb like horned dragon speaking beast we have to find a power that came up fresh out of the earth that is lamb like( yes christian) but speak as a dragon ( speaks satanically). The USA is the only new country that came up out of nothing, is christian but has all Hallmark of Rome and speaks as Babylon aka the dragon. However in revelation 17:11 these two remaining heads are replaced by a coalition consisting of Media Persia Greece and ? Rome. Babylon is discontinued. I said ? Rome because the papacy which also is represented as the woman is no longer apart of the beast and gets destroyed in revelation 17:16 and the seventh head only continues for a short time and I think is destroyed as verse 18 of chapter 17 and chapter 18 suggest. We are at chapter 17 in my estimation as the ten kings without a kingdom (WEF) and the new world order coalition ( Russia, China, Iran-- as Daniel 8:23&25 suggest) is in the process of destroying the USA and its allies). The problem with the prophecies of Revelation is that most people always assume it is future events. Remember Jesus said that these things would soon come. You alluded to this, but just to make the point very clearly: No one will accidentally get the Mark of the Beast. It is a deliberate choice to bow to his image and worship him.

Did you notice how concise God is?
The first beast came up from the sea (where the sea represents an area that is densely populated) and this beast has parts of other beasts. A beast in prophetic language is a political system and here God is telling us that this sea beast is a conglomerate of the four kingdoms that came before it.
Then God tells us that the other beast came from the land, not the sea, it came about from a sparsely populate area, opposite to the sea.
The first beast has components of other beasts but this land beast is lamb like. And who is the lamb, Jesus,. So this beast is Christ like in its beginning but will eventually speak like the dragon (empowered by Satan) and will join with the sea beast to persecute God's people.
An image is not necessarily a statue, could be a reflection, a likeness

Also what do you think about the fact that the beast 'out of the sea' refers to the sea of Gentiles. Because in biblical analogy, the sea represents the Gentiles. It is, therefore, a Gentile kingdom in the line of Babylon, Medo/Persia, Greece and Rome. It is descibed as having seven heads because the number seven represents completion, seven complete days in the week etc. And in this case it is the chronologically complete Gentile kingdom throughout history as described in Daniel. The beast 'out of the earth' Rev 13:11 is not a Gentile kingdom because it is described as being out of the earth and not out if the sea.

I think I can show more clearly that the seventh and eighth head in Rev17 is the first and second beast, respectively, in Rev13.
Starting with the ten horns.
In 17:12 it says “the ten horns which you saw are ten kings who have received no kingdom as yet, but they receive authority for one hour as kings with the beast.”
If you jump over to Rev13 you’ll see the ten horns on the first beast have crowns, which represents their authority.
vs2 “The dragon gave him his power, his throne and great authority”
Then back in Rev17 it says in vs13 about the horns,
“These are of one mind, and they will give their power and authority to the beast.”
Jump up to vs17 and it says almost the same thing,
“God has put it in their hearts, to fulfill His purpose, to be of one mind and to give their kingdom to the beast.
Going back to Rev13 and the second beast,
“he exercises all the authority of the first beast in his presence”
So the first beast with the ten horns and ten crowns gives their authority to the second beast in Rev13.
Who is this second beast?
I believe it is the eighth head of the Rev17 beast.
vs8, 11 “The beast that you saw, was and is not, and will ascend out of the bottomless pit….the beast that was, and is not, is himself also the eighth and is of the seven…”
The beast in Revelation 17 represents a history of kingdoms in that area of the world and two future kingdoms, the seventh and the eighth.
So in essence it represents all the kingdoms in that area from the beginning to the end.
In Rev13 we are shown the last two kingdoms.
Revelation can not be read like it all just happens in order.
It is in sections and from different perspectives.
Sometimes John is seeing things from the perspective of being in heaven and sometimes he is seeing things from the perspective of being on earth.

Revelation 17:9 gives the heads as Rome. To determine which power or head was wounded and healed we just need to determine what entity of Rome exists from roman days and we find that as the papacy. To find the seventh head or the lamb like horned dragon speaking beast we have to find a power that came up fresh out of the earth that is lamb like( yes christian) but speak as a dragon ( speaks satanically). The USA is the only new country that came up out of nothing, is christian but has all Hallmark of Rome and speaks as Babylon aka the dragon. However in revelation 17:11 these two remaining heads are replaced by a coalition consisting of Media Persia Greece and ? Rome. Babylon is discontinued. I said ? The problem with the prophecies of Revelation is that most people always assume it is future events.
Remember Jesus said that these things would soon come. If we study history, we see these events brought about by the beast happened 500 years after the revelation of John, not 2000+ years. We must look at these things with an open mind.
Once you realize what these prophecies are about it all falls into place.
There was a beast that was, was not, yet is.
