Thanks for this video, I always thought I had to wait for my kids to turn 7 and it was killing me. Didn’t know my one year old can ride Pirates of the Caribbean and haunted mansion
Yes! We took our oldest to Disneyland for the first time at 8 weeks old. Of course, he’s loved it more as he’s gotten older. He’s been tall enough to ride everything since 7 years old. Our youngest is only 5 and has a few more inches to grow until he can ride them all but definitely still worth going.
Definitely take advantage of it! It used to work with Fastpass as well. Not sure how Lightning Lane works. But in the past, I’ve booked one ride and my wife has booked a different ride. Since rider swap typically goes through the Fastpass lines, it’s like getting an extra Fastpass if that makes sense?
I’ll be going in July or August with a two year old and a four month old OR, in October with a two year old and ten month old! This video is very informative and made me super excited.
@@alizaemarie2619 We’ll be going to WDW in May ourselves. We go every year for a week. Disneyland and Magic Kingdom are pretty much identical. But they don’t have anything like California Adventure. At EPCOT, you can ride Living with the Land, Spaceship Earth, Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure, Journey Into Imagination, the Seas with Nemo and Friends, Frozen Ever After, and Gran Fiesta Tour, plus a bunch of shows. Both sides? As in both parks? Is it possible? Sure. Is it ideal? No. I'd recommend sticking with just Disneyland as it has more rides for the little one.
If you are having anxiety about taking your baby to newborn, it's probably a sign that your kid isn't ready for it. The child isn't going to remember anything, and probably won't even be awake for most of it. Don't bother going until kids are able to appreciate it and know who the characters are.
Whaaaaat?! I didn't know that kid is 1 year old can get on rides. 😭 in my area they don't allow me and my daughter to get on rides but can't wait to take her next month for Christmas!
For sure! We took our oldest for the first time when he was just 8 weeks old. You’ll have to rider swap the bigger rides since someone will need to sit out with your little one, but all rides without height requirements are okay for babies and toddlers.
You can use a baby carrier, no problem. You should also be able to hold them or place them on your lap. The only ride (that I can think of) where that’s a problem is Golden Zephyr in DCA. Even though there is no height requirement, they do require the child sit with their bottom fully on the seat beside you. No lap sitting or holding.
We were gonna try and celebrate our anniversary with our 1 year old next Feb, do I just carry her on my lap? Kinda scared to do that on dumbo and the other "flying" rides. How was it for you? Definitely bringing the baby carrier also!
Most of the rides you are fine having her lap sit. But the flying type rides, as you mentioned, are better to have the baby carrier just for peace of mind. It’s been awhile since our kids were that little at this point, but my wife did use a baby carrier for Dumbo at least, even if other rides like Snow White or Winnie the Pooh are fine for lap sitting.
They have “stroller parking” spots next to every ride and there’s usually 30-100 of them all parked there. It’s helpful to have an identifying marker to help you find yours. I wouldn’t keep valuables like a wallet unattended, but belongings are generally safe. We’ve parked a stroller for the last 8 years and have never had anything stolen.
I love kids rides . You have to try that blood orange slushy at Galactic Grill. I hear really good when you go. And I do have questions I'm doing 1 park per day. Do you know once your there at the parks can you purchase a park hopper?
Yes, you can upgrade at the ticket booths if you change your mind. Or if you want to add it to later days but not the whole trip. Once you upgrade it applies to all the days you have left on your ticket so it may be more expensive if you have more than one day left.
@@lisabostrack24 Just make sure and check the difference in price for a 3-day with hopper, 2-day with hopper, and single day with hopper to see what the price differences are.
@@SoCalDisneyDad ok thank you. I will. You always come through. That means a lot. And so excited you get to go to the parks again. And that you and your family are feeling well again.

So if you’re going to add a hopper, might as well be at the beginning. That’s a little different from Disney World, where you’re charged per day of hopper and a hopper can add like $500 to your trip.
