Leeds fan & Lewis Bate fan. Followed MK Dons because of Lewis Bate. Thank you for rescuing me from having to suffer another season with MK. Lewis has potential. With some real players around him this season he should blossom.
County making some quality signings. Starting to think we are a couple of signings away from being a really useful outfit. Might take a while to gel together though. EP will look quality with a 4,500 stand in the Railway End 👍👍
Based on the signings so far I expect Powell to be made club captain. With vice as horsfall and hinchy. The experienced people who will be in regular selection.
As for tge ground we need to make the ground bigger the more successful we are and better to extend EP than move to a flat pack stadium out in the sticks imo it will still have to caracter of the old one
Edgeley park 1980....... The hardcastle road stand was all seater but with wooden benching. Likewise the Cheadle End. The pop side was just an long open shed with no seating. The railway end was just a fenced off version of the popside where the away fans were kept. Again no seats. At that time we were lucky to get 1000 fans including away support. In the 60s Vic Bernard lobbied for and got Friday night matches to try and get more fans in. It worked and during that period county gained promotion in the 66/67 season to division 3/league 1 today only to drop back into division 4 in the 1969/70 season not to go up again until 1991 having just missed out in the 89/90 season. One of the last part time professional players Bill Williams a centre back played for county and was adored by the fans as one of the best players of that time for us. Today a part time player in the top 4 divisions doesn't exist. A simple search will find many photos of EP from various decades. So when considering the new plans to upgrade the stadium. Take a look at the past. Nostalgia won't grow the club. We must increase the capacity. I have a 125th year anniversary panoramic photo of the ground taken from the middle concourse of the Cheadle End. I bought it from the club shop, I imagine it's still available. We are going to grow. We are going to expand. We are going to be a bigger club with a stadium to match. Yes I miss the old days but I welcome the changes.
Two quality signings Just watched the clips on TH-cam for Lewis Bate What a player Going to be a fans favourite at Edgeley Park for sure

All good news for County, new players and ground improvements to build on the success over the last few years, and great Poddy as always.
Only one person left now Barry that's us done unless we can get bot him and Rico as part of a very big deal that's would be absolutely fantastic 🍻
Both signings
are great for the club.
Lewis Bate is a quality signing for County. I’m really excited to see him play for us. Absolute quality indeed!!! 😊
I’m excited too sounds like a really forward thinking player.

Connolly a leader on the pitch.

If we live in the past in regard to the stadium then we stand to lose fans and revenue. Onwards!
