I'm enjoying the agility of my Rocky Mountain Altitude with 27.5 wheels but when I'm on the On One Parkwood 29er hardtail it just carries speed, maybe a little slower on acceleration but once up to speed it just eats whatever is in front, rocks and roots just shrink. That SB45 looks rad though, great to see the Yeti 29er in your vid. My dream bike.
I don't know my way around Boyette that well because my bros do. So we put that guy up front to lead the way. Instant regret! haha Pace. Too. Fast! haha
i love my 29er, 2014 specialized stumpjumper evo recently upgraded from a old school free ride bike 07 sx trail 2 lol! Quite a different ride but i love me wagon wheels now
Seth made an entire MTB channel living in Miami because there's actually a lot of trails in a small proximity (30mi) to choose from, more than most places! Balm Boyette is fun, awesome trail!
I love my Yetis! I’ve got a 2015 ASRC and a ‘17 5.5. If you can get your hands on an ASR, you’ll love it. It’s one of the most capable XC bikes out there. Love your videos! Keep Shredding!
I love riding Florida in the Winter time! I want to ride with you and Joe again, on my sb5+. Yeti Tribe! I hope you get to ride Ridgeline there, when it open back up soon. It’s over 2 miles of flowy fun! My favorite trail in Florida. More FL mountain bike vids please!
Riding in FLORIDA! I want to see more Florida trails! I'll be down there in 4 weeks... Anyway, thanks for keeping your stoke going! I love living vicariously through you!
Mr Tonka I’m heading to Kissimmee area... spending some time with my 5-year-old and his grandparents. Not sure I can sneak away to some trails. Oh, and I have no wheels yet... they are on order.
Have you considered a comparison to 27.5 plus bike also as it should sit somewhere inbetween 29 and 27.5 ? Great to see a more XC oriented trail as it reminds me a little more of the local trails ;) Can't wait until the next video Mr. Sampler! Until then, Live Free and Stay Stoked! (No riding hard without videos ;) )
I would love to see the comparison video mentioned at the end of the video. I believe Mr. T’s SB5 is the LR version which there is a dearth of content on. Cheers!
I had realized the same thing just a day or so ago. I'll do a bike check video soon as well as Alex's comparison video which is going to be rad!! Everyone is going to be surprised by the Gravitron trail in Florida!
The Singletrack Sampler Your videos are sick! I didn't ride much 2017, and now I'm dying to get back on my Enduro 29er ASAP. Snow in Colorado has put that on hold for a minute.
hahaha! You know how this game works, gotta wait for the next video, bruh!! ;) They feel Sooooo different from each other though. So evident, even in a parking lot ride.
Florida gets a bad rap for mountain biking but that trail looked like a blast! Also gotta say I've been following your channel for about 8 months now and, other than your riding having gotten better in general, you've gotten so much smoother and make it look so effortless compared to when I first followed. It just shows that if you get out and ride, so much progress can be made and so much fun can be had. Thanks for all the inspiration! 🤘
MRP is the bomb! 29ers are fun, but I always miss how nimble 27.5 is. Geo helps a lot with that though! I rode one of these at Angel Fire and was really impressed with how playful it was.
Hey Alex, you should do a loop through the Midwest after you get your van setup. Really good riding in Duluth and Copper Harbor. Bike parks in Wausau and outside of Milwaukee. A bunch of places in Michigan too.
29er trail bikes are the best man. Welcome to the fan club. You need to try the Specialized Enduro in the 29er version. It was one of the first movers in the space and still one of the best I'd say.
hahaha for real!!! The Enduro wouldn't have been nearly as fun here I don't think. Man, I've always wanted to try one of those giddyup bikes, I bet that thing shreds!
Hey what's going on Alex so I finally upgraded from my Walmart bike and went to a diamondback axis 27 and a half thanks for all the inspiration and motivation bro
So cool you two synced up! Yeti's are for sure fun bikes. I love my SB5+ for steamrolling over the Austin chunk, but the SB4.5 is a super capable machine also. My only complaint with Yeti is that they are often taller that they are longer, so you have to oversize to get more reach.
You know, I actually appreciated that fact as I like a shorter, more manueverable bike! I had only ever ridden a yeti once before, and I'm definitely impressed!
It really does make it more playful. I'm just all torso, so I had to size up to the XL for a good fit on reach. It's still a great bike, I never regretted all the tears I shed when I looked at my bank account after buying it.
Small. Alex and i are about 5'10" and the M is good for us. At 6' you'd go to a large. If you have monkey arms like Trail Features apparently does, you may want a M. ;)
Love watching all your videos, I broke my ankle in a non related biking accident and seeing you ride a yeti makes me miss my sb6 it's just collecting dust in my garage :( .
it's short, stift, short travel set up and those are some characteristics of an agile and responsive bike. i guess the wheels doesn't do that much or try testing it with other set-ups maybe you can tell the difference. it's always on the riders preference though :) nice footy man
I rode a Stumpie 29er for three years and then got a new Tallboy 27.5 plus wheel. I like both but riding that 29 Stumpie feels like driving a bread truck climbing and techy stuff. What I do like about the 29er is going downhill. It really rolls well and I like how I can feel the trail. The plus size tires really disconnect me from feeling the trail. The both have pros and cons.
I really like the tweener size combo on the SB5. 2.5 up front and 2.3 out back. Good feel and plenty of traction with the perfect amount of forgiveness.
Another cool video. Glad you got to ride Boyette, that place is so much fun! Too bad Ridgeline was closed, that is probably the best trail of all the trails between Alaphia and Boyette. Hopefully it will be open Sunday when I'm out there.
A 29er takes getting use to for handling. I ride a hardtail; Norco Storm 9.1 tricked to Deore 9 speed with Rockshox TK 30 Silver. It isn't a Veti but its the bomb to me! I find 29ers to ride well up hills. But close stopping in traffic, takes practice. Sometimes lifting the front end a touch to move around in single track...but its like riding a hot babe...let me tell you brother!!
Yea, I went with the SB5 because of it's capability + wheel size. I'm relatively short at 5' 7" and the 27.5" felt much better than the 29" wheels. Now if this weather would start to go back to normal I can get out there and ride it.
Come party with us at Dirt Rag Dirt Fest this year(seriously we have extra space at our campsite)! We'll be at the Raystown location. I would love to see you do a vid there.
Much like clipless shoes, you have to commit to the 29’er, and get used to riding it, in order to see its full potential! After you spend some time in the saddle, you’ll see that it’s just as fast through the tight single track as the 27.5.
He was watching in pure fear like "uh Alex, i gotta sell that bike..." and your finding more gnarley stuff to do😂😂😂😂😂
Yeah Boy! Warms my heart to see the sampler on a Yeti! Long live the Yeti Tribe!
Love watching you get better and progress, Alex! I think a lot of your viewers do too. Keep it up and keep pushing the limits! Smeaash
Your videos help me get through the winter here in upstate NY. Kinda hard to hit the trails when they're covered by a foot of snow!
These horsing around on the trail vids are some of my favorites of yours. A high jinks and shenanigans super cut would be highly watchable :P
They seem to be among the most fun to make too!!
Glad to see you coming over to the 29er Dark side. Yeti has some amazing whips.
I really liked the singlespeed steel on one inbred at 1:40. STEEL IS REAL! HARDTAIL SHREDDING! Really nice video!
I don't know my way around Boyette that well because my bros do. So we put that guy up front to lead the way. Instant regret! haha Pace. Too. Fast! haha
Glad you liked the 29er that's what I ride personally, it's always fun to test different things out.
I rode Boyette just before moving out of Orlando. Hats off to the peeps who built a sweet nug down there!
I love my twentyniners, makes me more confidend on technical stuff, like roots and rocks.
i love my 29er, 2014 specialized stumpjumper evo recently upgraded from a old school free ride bike 07 sx trail 2 lol! Quite a different ride but i love me wagon wheels now
Seth made an entire MTB channel living in Miami because there's actually a lot of trails in a small proximity (30mi) to choose from, more than most places!
Balm Boyette is fun, awesome trail!
I rented a 29" Transition Smuggler in Moab - I was totally stoked! Awesome on the climbs and descents.
I love my Yetis! I’ve got a 2015 ASRC and a ‘17 5.5. If you can get your hands on an ASR, you’ll love it. It’s one of the most capable XC bikes out there. Love your videos! Keep Shredding!
ASRc AND A 5.5! That's a capable quiver of bikes right there!
Yeah it is!
is that an Ardent on the front ?!?! would explain the front washout @ 2:25
horrible as a front
Thanks for the vids. Freeze/thaw cycle is keeping some of us off of our local trails. Your vids help keep my stoke level high. Yeah Boiii
I love watching your videos man. Your a huge inspiration to me!
I love my sb4.5, I'm glad you go to ride one.
Keep an eye out tomorrow. :)
Always dreamed of having my own Yeti. Can’t wait to see the comparison. Looking forward to it. :)
Same here! I went as far as to have Yeti grips on my first MTB cause i couldn't afford a Yeti back then. Blessed to be able to experience them now.
Riding in FLORIDA! I want to see more Florida trails! I'll be down there in 4 weeks... Anyway, thanks for keeping your stoke going! I love living vicariously through you!
Where are you headed Shane?
Mr Tonka I’m heading to Kissimmee area... spending some time with my 5-year-old and his grandparents. Not sure I can sneak away to some trails. Oh, and I have no wheels yet... they are on order.
Shane Wilkinson Mt Dora and Carter Rd are good close options to Kissimmee. Hope you get some wheels to ride!
Have you considered a comparison to 27.5 plus bike also as it should sit somewhere inbetween 29 and 27.5 ?
Great to see a more XC oriented trail as it reminds me a little more of the local trails ;)
Can't wait until the next video Mr. Sampler! Until then, Live Free and Stay Stoked! (No riding hard without videos ;) )
The only bikes i rode were 29ers. Hardtail, to full sus xc, and now 27 enduro bike. Lets see what to do with the downhill in the future 🤘🏽
I would love to see the comparison video mentioned at the end of the video. I believe Mr. T’s SB5 is the LR version which there is a dearth of content on. Cheers!
On it's way bro!
Great video dude. I ride the same bike and I'm constantly amazed at what you can do with only 114mm of rear travel. Bikes have come a long way!
Dude I feel like I could ride that thing on almost all trails right up until I hit a bike park... it's crazy!!
MTB Savant best bike out there!
You may be surprised by the comparison video thats coming..... :D
Mr Tonka does that mean you're keeping the 4.5? Or selling it to Alex perhaps? Lol
hahaha! You know how this game works, gotta wait for the next video, bruh!! ;) They feel Sooooo different from each other though. So evident, even in a parking lot ride.
JOE is the man!
lololol :)
Had a blast riding with you guys!
Next time we'll get in front and block the trail. haha Great meeting you! Hope to see you on the trails! (as you blast by me) ;)
Great work Alex I love your resilience you inspired me to ride mtb love your work you deserve way more subs 🤘🏼👍🏼
My parents live near Tampa but I haven't had the chance to ride there yet. I know there are some trails within an hour or so. Soon!
George L. Yeah Alafia and Balm Boyette (this trail )are 45 mins from Tampa....Santos is like 2 hours also and really good.
Those are just some beautiful bikes.
I ride a Nishiki Colorado 29er and absolutely love it
MRP is the bomb! 29ers are fun, but I always miss how nimble 27.5 is. Geo helps a lot with that though! I rode one of these at Angel Fire and was really impressed with how playful it was.
Wish I had that positive of an attitude when I wiped out. Slow-mo replay was excellent.
Hey Alex, you should do a loop through the Midwest after you get your van setup. Really good riding in Duluth and Copper Harbor. Bike parks in Wausau and outside of Milwaukee. A bunch of places in Michigan too.
Alex, the fall into the ditch while you were filming 🤣🤣🤣 hilarious!
Mr. Tonka has quite the collection!
I hit some big jumps and ride tight trails on my 29er no problem
Great video! This truly makes mountain biking look like so much fun!
Even in Florida!! ;)
You should definititely try your spesh enduro in 29er, that bike is awesome too...
29er trail bikes are the best man. Welcome to the fan club. You need to try the Specialized Enduro in the 29er version. It was one of the first movers in the space and still one of the best I'd say.
Awesome vid, as always. I love my 29er!
And this is why you need to bikes :). My Transition Smuggler is a short travel 29er and it's a BEAST!
hahaha for real!!!
Let me know when you go to Alafia. I’ll bring my SB5 also. It’s built burly so it can be trashed around.
Yeah dude! (Honorary) Welcome to the tribe!
Always fun to make new runs, nice wall sender
Im 5'6 so if i rode a yeti would i be a small or a medium?
Small. Alex and i are about 5'10" and the M is good for us. At 6' you'd go to a large. If you have monkey arms like Trail Features apparently does, you may want a M. ;)
Mr Tonka lol! It's my torso, actually. I'm 6'2, but have a 32" inseam so my trunk makes me an odd one to fit. 😑
Love watching all your videos, I broke my ankle in a non related biking accident and seeing you ride a yeti makes me miss my sb6 it's just collecting dust in my garage :( .
Dang man, sorry to hear that, but keep the stoke high and you will be back on the bike before you know it!
How long are you in Florida? Gotta ride Santos and Alafia! I'd love to ride along with you and show you some of the Florida trails!!
it's short, stift, short travel set up and those are some characteristics of an agile and responsive bike. i guess the wheels doesn't do that much or try testing it with other set-ups maybe you can tell the difference. it's always on the riders preference though :) nice footy man
You should try the Caloosahatchee Regional Park.
No wonder you liked it so much it's a 4.5 probably the best niner beside the transition sentinal or 5.5
Always look forward to watching vids keep em comin
Nice single-speed hardtail too.
Another cool video. Glad you got to ride Boyette, that place is so much fun! Too bad Ridgeline was closed, that is probably the best trail of all the trails between Alaphia and Boyette. Hopefully it will be open Sunday when I'm out there.
gary moser same dude
I miss riding my mtb, moved and sold it, maybe I'll get back to it some day.
Would've loved to had ridden with you here in Tampa/Lithia! Keep riding and stay safe.
Which bike do you like the best and why?
1. Specialized "Pumpkin"
2. Diamondback Release 5C
3. Yeti SB 4.5
another nice one, you should get the try to SB5.5, keep up good work!
Alex this video was sweet man....those bikes are sick, i also wish they weren't so expensive lol ! Fun trail too man thanks for sharing! =D
Alex, it would be ace to see a review on both the yetis great idea ace vid as usual thanks mate Ed.
Stay tuned, should be out soon.... I can hardly wait!
I know he the owner of the bike was crying inside😂
The Asian Biker I would too. Hahaha
hahaha. The bike is so happy being used like this!
Looks like a blast! I'd love to hit up Alafia with you. Never been and I'm not too far away in south Jacksonville.
Dude!! Boyette My fav Flo trail!! and your sick sessioning those spots there really steep! LOL
Erick, there are loads of these spots at Boyette. Crazy that i never saw them before.
2 yetis and a Range Rover sport! Crazy. Love the vids Alex!
Your jumping skillz have come so far. Smoove like butta!!
They really have. He was boosting the poo out of that bridge jump at the end!
I love my 29er!!!! SMEASHHHH
oh yes, that range rover with two blue yetis. well done sir
Yea Joe is definitely kiling life
Gotta take care of that sugar momma! haha
hahahahaha well done Sir!
Don't get too excited, the RR is out of warranty. hahaha yikes!!
just ask doug de muro, a RR without warranty shouldn't be a problem :)
Nice! It would be pretty hard for me to go back down from a 29er. Really diggin my SC Hightower!
That’s a great bike for FL flickable, fast and just enough suspension travel. Myself and MTB Savant love this bike. I’m glad you enjoyed it.
It is such a good bike. I'm torn between which one to ride.... FWP! lol
Mr Tonka just alternate between them each ride.
that's one way to do it!! haha
Thats a greatbike for anywhere...it may actually be overkill for florida, tho ive never riden there. But its a wicked bike esp for CO!
JC TRAILS I'm turning 38 this February I like A 26 er Feb 19th 218
Oh yeah, would love to see a comparison video!
In the making already, and it's gonna be fun!!
I rode a 29 and I liked it, hope my 650b won’t mind it
That’s awesome, these were the two bikes I was trying to decide between. I went with the SB5!
You did not choose poorly! :D
Yea, I went with the SB5 because of it's capability + wheel size. I'm relatively short at 5' 7" and the 27.5" felt much better than the 29" wheels. Now if this weather would start to go back to normal I can get out there and ride it.
Hub sounds amazing😍
That bike is dope!
I like that steep hill you went down, great job.. I'm still a 27.5 guy though
YOu are the Hero!
love your vlogs man!
17 mins over 700 views! woah dude! love it!
I love the Yeti bikes and fully support a comparison video!
Coming up next week!!
29er is life dude my hardtail is one of these and i'd never get back to anything else !
Come party with us at Dirt Rag Dirt Fest this year(seriously we have extra space at our campsite)! We'll be at the Raystown location. I would love to see you do a vid there.
Any soreness in that ankle the next day? The slow motion shot looked painful.
Super interested in the comparison!
any day now.... stay tuned!
amazing riding buddie, keep us inspiring
all the best from brazil.
gmcayres kkkkk eae man, tudo blz, Brasilsão na área aqui. 🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷
Remember there is an SB5.5 29er in the line up. I'm on an SB5 with 27.5" tires.
If it feels anything like it's younger brother, then I'm sure it's a beast
Much like clipless shoes, you have to commit to the 29’er, and get used to riding it, in order to see its full potential! After you spend some time in the saddle, you’ll see that it’s just as fast through the tight single track as the 27.5.
Nice! Keep them coming.
I about severed my achilles dropping a pedal like you did. You got lucky man. I was relieved to see you walk away unscathed.
THanks bro!
That's a damn expensive 29'er, good that u love it.
Love to watch your videos, pretty pretty cool ¡Saludos desde Mexico!
When you come up with all the rowdy, could-go-wrong ideas...while riding someone else's expensive bike. Classic!
XD
Ice ridden that bike once and it was crazy fast!
I’m thinking of getting the yt Jeffsy al 29er.Im pretty sure 29ers are going to be the future of mtb.Great video
thanks jack!
I love watching your videos i hope one day i can ride with you and seth
Lookin hella dope on the 29er
What did you think of the nobl wheels? Worthy upgrade?
I certainly think so! :)
The crash at the beginning was great. Oh yeah you do have to watch where you're stepping when shooting!! Lol
hahaha ALWAYS gotta be looking out!! Just happy I didn't step off into a swamp or something :D
They don't have trails called "Gator Pit" for nothing! haha
