More amazing artists who, for the most part, saturated the air waves in their day, but who are not popular today. I have had many cars in my 40+ years of driving, but only one bumper sticker -- the "Unknown Pleasures" album art. Yes, Joy Division was something, and still is. Their sound was cutting edge then, and timeless now. Also King Crimson - really? I just have to shake my head at that one, too. This video did not claim to be about musical taste or preference, so I can't give the "subjective" pass here. Sweet? Just - what was this guy thinking? (clicks and views, clicks and views). For all the many flaws in this video, it did introduce me to Big Star, a band I had never heard of before. I listened to their first album tonight and really was blown away. So I appreciate that.
Fleetwood Mac still managed to come together on and off over the decades since the 70s. They only really disbanded with the death of Christine McVie a couple years ago.
I saw King Crimson's final US tour a few years ago. They packed their venues. They were just as incredible as they were initially, and they continue to inspire bands like Tool in recent decades.
Peter Green of original Fleetwood mac, one of Pop and Rock's immortals not even mentioned, Johnny Rotten a genius, never to be forgotten, still around to this day, nobody has ever forgotten Karen Carpenter either - as a singer or a drummer, timeless - Television influenced anyone of worth, The Sweet, great live ,very proficient, but a bit naff, Lalay timeless too, The Jam long gone but Paul Weller still around, a great songwriter as himself and when in the group, being both a rock-great and a soul-boy too, he having released several number ones in a row. Analysis is slightly inaccurate. as most are not forgotten at all but have even become iconic.
Did you know?? Many members of Montrose went on to regroup under the new title of one of our all-time fav Christmas bands. Trans Siberian Orchestra. I saw both Montrose and TSO at the same
What the hell is the radar of time? I remember all of these bands. I own most of their albums. I often wonder how the Runaways would have fared if they'd kept Michael Steele on board. As it is, they had no peak to reach. Fleetwood Mac had two heydays. Give me an Albatross any day. King Crimson spawned greatness. Lots of Budgie fans out there. Big Star has always been great, Alex Chilton is a magician in his own right. Wild Cherry turned out to be a one trick pony. Wait, what? The Carpenters? I daresay they'll never be forgotten. Ever. Same with the Canadian wonder, the Guess Who. They were all over the radio. Burton and Bachman still tour. Since when did 1977 radio eschew good musicianship? I may come back and do a part 2 maybe. I'll leave with this: Stop underestimating your audience.
More nonsense from someone who probably wasn't there. If the runaways were influential how come they are supposedly forgotten?. Fleetwood Mack, Joy Division, Lynyrd Skynyrd, The Carpenters etc forgotten? As for King Crimson, they are still regularly sighted as one of the best prog rock bands of all time. Come on, what planet are you on. I will give you Budgie though, I saw them twice back in the day, every bit as good as some of their peers imo. I guess they just didn't have that killer song to make them a household name.
The Fleetwood Mac that fell off the radar was the original band of the 1960s. Way different than the bubblegum music group of the 70s and 80s. They were more rock and blues.
I think its a matter of perspective. For every generation there is music that speaks to those growing up and identify with emotional times. Those songs are a path to recalling those emotions and times. However as the next generation comes around the kids growing up often have a new collection of musicians that are popular and mark their moments with their friends and loved ones. Many of these are still remembered and played by those that grew up with them but today's kids will not grow up hearing them on the radio as we did, or watch the first showing on the then new platform MTV. Certainly there is overlap from parents sharing and playing their love for music with their children, but not always.
This list is the result of someone who thinks he knows a lot about what he is talking about, from what I see for many here, including me, it is pure nonsense so do like me, and go to the menu and check "do not recommend the channel"
Passed away? Pete Ham passed way by taking his life on April 24, 1975, at age 27. Tom Evans, who never got over his dear friend's death, took his own life, on November 19, 1983. That is as sad as Brad Delp in 2007. The Beatles Apple label tried their damnedest to make them a Beatles clone.
Not sure I have the same understanding of what "fallen of the radar" means as this channel. Most of the groups on this list are still quite remembered and influential.
Sweet : Little Willy, Fox on the Run, Ballroom Blitz.... Are they really forgotten? I have Little Willy on my computer playlist with 927 songs. Some of these I have never heard of. But the world was absolutely filled with sadness when the Legendary Christine McVie passed on 30 November 2022. What a crappy Christmas season that was. "Songbird" will be a classic forever.
If they make a movie about you i would hardly call you ”forgotten”. Sweet, The Runaways,Joy Division, King Crimson….forgotten???? And Fleetwood Mac???? FLEETWOOD MAC???? These are artists i listen to and most people i know are at least aware of.

I HAVE NOT EVEN HEARD OF MANY OF THESE BANDS. THANKS!! THIS IS GREAT. There are some other interesting details that I was unaware of. That Badfinger worked for the BEATLES' Apple was unknown by me. People who knock this video should get used to browsing many sources and not expecting one source video to fill in all of their own personal knowledge of individual favorite details. The author should not bother to take criticism from others he would not necessarily ask advice from.

...... The Pistols were the greatest R&R car wreck of the 70s & most entertaining. Syd Vicious promised, delivered & became legend. All the rest faded.
Due to their British connection , Mick Fleetwood and the Mc Vees , it's the only possible reason they are on this list. There is no way they have anything else to do with the punk rock and protopunk bands that dominate the list. Punk was never mainstream with a cult following at best. Fad bands.
There's a photo of Van Halen during the Montrose segment, which would be understandable, but Hagar isn't even in the shot - Diamond Dave is, and no mention of the connection between the two. Other than that...
None of these bands are forgotten. Believe me, their music is still being listened to.

I saw King Crimson's final US tour a few years ago. They packed their venues. They were just as incredible as they were initially, and they continue to inspire bands like Tool in recent decades.
Badfinger🤩 are the authors of Without You, one of the most famous romantic songs till now sounds versions in english, spanish
Talking about Montrose and slipping in a photograph of Van Halen ? 🤔
montrose debut album was epic!!!!
I saw both Montrose and TSO at the same
The Beatles produced their albums. The Beatles actually thought highly of the band so much that they actually did background vocals for them.
Slade should be called out more, such a great catalog of hits.
I have to agree. The one thing about videos like this is maybe some 20 year old might discover some of the classics and that is a good thing.
Joy Division is heavily popular. My kids are listening to them now.
Sensationalist journalism at it's worst
The Fleetwood Mac that fell off the radar was the original band of the 1960s. Way different than the bubblegum music group of the 70s and 80s. They were more rock and blues.
Sweet!
This must be a popular channel. TH-cam inserted 10 ads in the first 7 minutes.
😢 CHRISTINE McVIE/PERFECT was the foundation of the FLEETWOOD MAC sound, her vocals are groundbreaking.
One minute in and you’ve lost my attention.Bad Finger could be the next “Fab Four”, away with you🙄
This list is the result of someone who thinks he knows a lot about what he is talking about, from what I see for many here, including me, it is pure nonsense so do like me, and go to the menu and check "do not recommend the channel"

The script was these bands Wikipedia pages ... word for word
You should rename the title to something like great bands of the past. I really think you’d get a better response from all of us people who love older music and think most of today’s music sucks! Thank you very much your welcome please 👀
Fleetwood Mac is NEVER forgotten, and should not be on the list..they had an EXTREME long and successful career
I'm sorry to say, but if you haven't heard of most of these bands, Then you did not listen to rock or pop in the 70's. You should research some of them on youtube, because I guarantee you that they will be on here. Your'e missing a lot of GOOD music from the 70's. PEACE and LOVE!!
Thanks for your input. We keep in mind that the person who put this together was making the same point and provided a great source of information on the exact subject.
We don't need to double up that point, which IS the point of this video.
...... The Pistols were the greatest R&R car wreck of the 70s & most entertaining. Syd Vicious promised, delivered & became legend. All the rest faded.
Having been born in the 50s, I remember most of these, thanks for posting.👍subbed.👊😎
Due to their British connection , Mick Fleetwood and the Mc Vees , it's the only possible reason they are on this list. There is no way they have anything else to do with the punk rock and protopunk bands that dominate the list. Punk was never mainstream with a cult following at best. Fad bands.
They forgot a few also , Like the Looking glass and sugarloaf
How about Argent. Hold Your Head Up is classic.
Interesting to see "television" using the drum kit from Talking Heads 20:39. Nice
Can't watch all this. Don't get this. Some of the most famous groups. That are in no way forgotten.
I think this reeks of a website starved for Content, so they just had someone make bullsh*t content.
There's a photo of Van Halen during the Montrose segment, which would be understandable, but Hagar isn't even in the shot - Diamond Dave is, and no mention of the connection between the two. Other than that...
Blood Sweat and Tears...
Never heard of some of these bands and I was in my 20's. They couldn't have been any good.
Sweet are still performing and touring.
Remember Louisiana LeRoux?? Those guys were fantastic but only lasted a few years. Their biggest hit was New Orleans Ladies but had several more.
