It's a shame how Lesley Stahl is under the assumption that organizing assassination is something to be proud of. I feel horrible how she is representing all of America with that assumption. I was greatly humbled when Dagan said "there is no pleasure in killing". He shows great humility and an immense character. The ability to kill is not a skill to be proud of it's an unfortunate skill learned for survival that is a burden upon all who carry it.
We humans want the same things. Security, peace of mind, prosperity. The circumstances we find ourselves in determine our desperataration.How you behave when you find yourself in a position of strength or weakness defines you. We consider ourselves to be empathetic but get suckered into trying to put ourselves in the shoes of others and dispute the means. Not everybody on the "wrong side" is bad & not everyone on the 'right side" is good. Too many succumb to a binary assessment of the situation, that's a shame.

There are lots of other uses for aircraft than just bombing, e.g. reconnaissance, deploying HaTsanhanim, transporting aid, evacuating people, putting out fires. I ended up as a translator for (what was then) OTRI, and that gave me the chance to work in the US, Turkey, and India. Pretty fascinating stuff, and definitely rewarding.

You can join the IDF. (why IAF in particular??? Also, I never heard that air force per say discriminates against taking in loyal Arabs). There a MANY Druze, Bedoin (Muslim) and some Christian Arabs in IDF... Only 25% of Israeli Arabs are willing to join the Army, however.
Also, not going to the army means...starting college 3 years before everyone else, and never being called to Meluim (the reserve duty), which... can be taxing....
