The voice isn't what it used to be and he's definitely eccentric. But, he's pure entertainer, energy, enthusiasm and having a blast. I hope he stays at full speed and riding the edge for many years to come.
I was 18 when this song came out. I had just gotten my first car, a hunk of junk with a great sound system. It took me a few times to hear this song entirely because the first couple times I was giving my little sister a ride to or from school. Each time it came up on the radio and Dave sang, "...I reached down, between my legs...", I would shut it off because of my little sister being there and I was afraid of what he might say next. haha I got a big laugh once I heard the rest. Silly times. Thanks Dave and VH for all the great memories.

I've been singing for 40 some years and I still can't figure out how the hell he did it. Or really how he came up with it because up until VH I'd never heard anybody do it . I think his whole vocal approach was super clever .

Since when was that *ever* his thing? With the exception of maybe 1978-79, the answer is: never. Some people like hearing perfect re-creations of recorded music live; for them, I imagine the Eagles are still limping along. Classic VH was never about that. Having said that, I think Jagger gave other frontmen unrealistic expectations of how long they should do this. Glad DLR seems in good spirits and he looks pretty fit, but he sounds bad.
Put a new band together and tour! Then make the videos. You were one of the greatest entertainers of all time. Much respect to you. You can do it again! 👍🏻😎 I can put together a great band for you if you need assistance.
