Sometimes I wonder if you truly know how much joy you bring to other peoples' lives. Your love of your dollies and enthusiasm to share your love is infectious. Thank you for your inspiration.
I started collecting AG a couple of years ago. I love the playsets, as I like to do vignettes of my dolls. I have the blue square metal table and chairs with the food. I would love the Harry Potter Train and accessories, also one of the campers. But as you said, it's hard because you need a lot of room. I've bought some of the OG playsets, as they are real cute and cheaper. One room is dedicated to my dolls, so I'm always rearranging.
The playsets are amazing 😍 I'm lucky in terms of I can go to the local store and at least see and play with them there even if I can't have them here at home 😆
I don't think I'll ever stop collecting some aspect (clothes, shoes, wigs, eyes, fabrics) of the doll hobby. I noticed the last few years I've been collecting very hard to find and secondhand things and that slows my acquisition rate. I had always wanted a Molly and last year got one for an okay price. My current focus is satisfying young me wants. If funds and space were of no concern, I would have all the dolls, clothes, accessories and they would all be displayed in glass front cabinets lining every wall of my mansion 😁
I agree I think that's the way it will always be for me - even if I'm not still getting dolls I'll be getting things for them. And yesss about the glass cabinets along the mansion walls 😆
I had to get 2 Molly trunks to fit all the stuff! I have spring/summer things in one and fall/winter in the other! I have no more room, but have been very creative with how and where I display my collection. I so love collecting my doll stuff and it's wonderful to hear like-minded people! Thanks for sharing.
That is amazing 😍 I think I really need a secondary trunk (clothes press) for Felicity bc it doesn't all fit. For the most part Kirsten's trunk actually does hold her entire collection so that's nice 😍
Thank you so much for watching 💜 I agree they are really fun to dress - they're much easier to dress than so many other types of dolls and that makes it so enjoyable. Good luck completing your Molly's wardrobe 💜💜
This video was so much fun! I feel like I've been playing dolls with a friend, lol. Thank you so much for regularly making and sharing your videos. They really brighten the day, I think we all need that right now 🕊️❤️😊
Very fun video! This made me think about the top ten doll/doll things I would like to add to my collection. I completely agree with what at the end. You never truly finished collecting, but you finished parts of your collection. I'm new to collecting american girls, I have Saige, Jess, Lila, and Julie, but there's a few more I would like to add, like Marie-Grace, Melody, and Courtney.
And then once a collection is finished, American Girl will probably do a special run of outfits for that doll so you have to add those too 😂 at least that's the way it seems to go for me 😂
Definitely enjoyed this! I'm 59 so wouldn't have had these growing up. I'm from the "Crissy Family" era (and DO have those) I LOVE the PC/AG dolls and have collected MANY MANY of them. Kirsten and Felicity are my favorites and Kirsten was the first one I got back in the early nineties when I first had little girls and got stuff for them. I'd LOVE to find Kirsten's Baking Outfit complete but NOT for the prices the outfit currently demands. That is one I will NOT get unless I find it "in the wild" for a decent price.
Hi 😃 I didn't think your video was boring at all! I would like to get Kirsten's full collection! She's my favorite too! I have most of her clothes but it's just the big items and accessories I would like! Whenever I go to the flea market I always keep a look out because you never know where you might find something!😉 I'm also going to get Claudie's bakery! Thanks for a great video!😃❤️
That's my philosophy too! You never know what you'll find if you pay close attention and sometimes that means digging through some piles 😆 good luck on your search for her bigger items 💜💜
This was a fun video and it has encouraged me to look for a few accessories that I’ve missed such as the gaming system. That’s not really a nostalgic piece, but I’ve always thought it was so adorable. LOL GREAT VIDEO!!!✨💜✨💜✨
A few people I know have quit and sold everything. I gave the neighbor one of those dolls PC, pie bangs, and I did not like the pie bangs and face mold, the blond with blue eyes and the children next door love her so it was a win win. I still have one left #26, she is blond, bangs, and brown eyes, and I cover it with bows, hair bands etc. I just love the hunt it is so fun, and the anticipation of the experience. I just don't have the room either. Thank you it was a great video.
I haven't purchased anything AG in a long time because I just don't have the space and I am content with my collection. I have been tempted with a couple of new dolls and the new Gap outfit but I don't want to reopen that can of worms...so I am good. Enjoyed watching the video 😊
You have better willpower than me 😆 I went to the store to get the Gap outfit but they aren't carrying it in the store it's online only - so I haven't ordered...yet ... Lol
Thanks for doing an American girl doll video! I started collecting them later in life so they are not nostalgic for me. Beautiful Crissy growing hair dolls would be that for me. I do however absolutely love everything American Girl dolls. Kirstin is also one of my favourites as well because I looked the most like her as a kid. I have two Kirstin’s. One is pleasant company and I also have a white body Kirstin that I bought from a doll collecting friend of mine. She was not cheap but I couldn’t resist when he was selling her. I also prefer to find things in the wild to get that thrill. The historicals are my favourite of the line. It was fun seeing your collections and hearing your wish list. Thank you!🤗
Thank you so much for watching and sharing your story! My shelf above the American Girls is Crissy dolls 😆 I have my mom's Crissy doll from when she was a kid and I did play with her a lot when I was young so I have a bit of nostalgia for her as well 💜💜
I can second on how large the bunkbeds are. They take a lot of space. I have an alcove produced by the fireplace mantle and the walls that created a great space for AG (no fires in fireplace). My middle child built an AG dollhouse as a college project and it fits in the alcove. I am lucky because the alcove was dead space, and now it is not. The bunkbed doesn't seem so big. Good luck with your bucket list for AG.
That sounds magical 😍 once upon a time I had American girl doll rooms set up in IKEA Pax wardrobes and they were so cool!! But those wardrobes took up so much space I eventually had to get rid of them 😭
I love your earrings and shirt! I had to sell several AG furniture because they just took up too much space. With the collectors, I knew, the criticism for Cecile and Marie Grace being the books actually. Instead of 6 books for one character, it was only 3 for each and their books kinda overlapped so it was like you had already reread the book. Yes you are correct on Kit being the last one developed by Pleasant Rowland. 😊 Wow that’s amazing you found the Girl of Today at the thrift market! I remember really wanting one with brown hair and green eyes since at the time, they didn’t have any dolls with that combination (guess what my hair and eye color are 😅). Felicity’s furniture collection is my favorite AG furniture collection of all time. I can’t imagine how much room it would take up!! I want the Number 4 so much! She’s sooo much though 😳 Molly’s original trunk was so nice 😄
AG is my biggest collection, and I have prioritized getting the dolls over clothing and accessories. Specifically, I have gone for the rarest dolls in the best possible condition. And I have all but one, which is GT 6, the rarest (and most expensive) one. I have a white body Molly and Samantha in mint condition, a first release of Felicity and Josefina (also mint) and a first edition tan body Kirsten. I just had a baby, and my doll room was turned into the nursery, so now nearly my entire collection is in storage. It’s a bit of a gut punch to have worked so hard to hunt down and amass a collection to now not see any of it, but the room was needed. Space really is a problem for collectors! I still have some dolls in the nursery, like the AG Disney dolls, and I’m glad my son will grow up to (hopefully) have an appreciation for the artistry of dolls. And maybe one day we will move into a larger home and I can have my collection on display once again!
I think that's incredible! I would like to add more of the AGOT from the first couple of years, I probably will just see what I can find in the wild and if they need to be rehabbed I'll do that. I hope you get a dedicated doll room one day and congratulations on your new baby 💜
I don't think I'm ever finished collecting something but I do reach a point where I'm satisfied. I used to buy Pullip characters about 12 girls and boys total, really wanted an delicately dressed mocha skinned Pullip that wasn't a kit. When they released Eclata a few years ago I bought her and haven't gotten one since. I still like them, but that void was filled. AG-wise I missed all of Samantha's original outfit doll releases so I'll probably be done with AG dolls if I get one, but I'll still buy AG clothes.
I've been thinking this way about my Crissy collection lately. I haven't done much with them in 12 years or so because I've been satisfied with my collection but now I wonder do I want to keep them? Part of me wonders if my excitement is in the thrill of the hunt 🤔
@@MunecasPoupeesDolls I can understand that. With some dolls the most exciting part can be the hunt, the unboxing, and finally having the doll in our possession. With other dolls it can be redressing, restyling, and customizing that's the most fun. I guess if you have some duplicate Crissy dolls you could let go of the ones you are the least in love with, that way you can downsize but you'll still have something.
If I had more space I'd collect all the historical dolls and I'd get Kit's bedroom furniture, Kaya's teepee, Mia's bedroom furniture, and Lainie's camper. I KNOW I get stressed out when my space is too cluttered though so unless I find myself with way more space someday, I don't think it'll happen.
I would buy the AG Cinderella and her house outfit. For my kids children to play with , i wouldnt give it to just one . we would keep it for visits. I am buying the dolls per age group for birthdays . they love them.
😀you need to let them invade entire house and call them decorations😉 I started recently AG mini doll collection so I can have the designs but they don`t take so much space. Also as I live in Europe post cost from America is insane, it is much better to order several tiny ones at once instead of big ones one by one
Nice vid👍 It brought back so many memories of my daughter & I enjoying the catalogs when she was growing up 😃 We both loved the GOTY & many historicals too 😎 Her mini-me was #19 with brown hair/green eyes 😍 I no longer collect AG dolls but I still have a few of them & 2 yrs ago I bought Nanae new from the online store though I'm thinking of selling her 🤔 Do you have any of the modern dolls like Nanea or do you want to buy any? I like a few of the newer ones with the modern makeup lashes but due to lack of money & space I won't be getting any 😔
I loved this whole video, but my favorite part was actually hearing more about your philosophy on acquiring different AG things... like what you buy in person vs online or what you'll search out vs only buy under certain circumstances. (I feel really similarly about preferring to find certain things in the wild!)
Yes! I know I could buy the stuff online and I'm at a point in my life where I could afford some of it, but it's a lot more fun to find it out thrifting or in a local bargain sale 😆
I have 12 American girl dolls and unless I find one more that i really want at a good price I might get one but I don’t have the storage. I do have two Wellie wishers.
I have kirsten, and some of her clothes lole her meet and her winter accessories and her winter outfit naturally, i would love to have her trunk. I want to complete her pjs. i need her birthday outfit, her St. lucia outfit and accessories so um i would love to compete kirsten's collection
I want to get number 4 so bad and I want a White body doll too I don't care who. Mom says to get a WB Samantha but it don't matter who I get as long as I have a WB doll. I don't know if I want 86 or 87 but if I find one from 90-91 before Felicity's 1991 release then I'm happy about it

Kirsten was my first doll, too. She started it all. Great video!
She is a very influential lady 😂
