I so admire My dad was stuck in Galiopi. He never spoke about the war . Just once he showed me a scar from knee to ankle . He said his best fried lying beside him was killed. I adored him . He was a doctor, a journalist and later a man I loved all my life. My heart is aching he died when I was 24 . I’m 82 now and had a good life but he was a brilliant father.

Thanks for the excellent documentary. Didnt know of his prolific writing and the Nobel prize. Probably the best example from the British upper class living a full and meaningful life transitioning from the Victorian era into the 20th century. I liked John Lithgows' interpretation of him in 'The Crown".

There's a high school in my city that was built in 1955 and named in Churchill's honour. There is a bronze bust of the man as well as a letter from him to the school stating his appreciation of the naming, on display in the school office. There is also a town on Hudson Bay named in honour of his ancestor, the Duke of Marlborough. The town is also famous for its polar bear population.

These are crucial questions for a financial planner. I met mine at a NYSE summit, and with her help, my wife and I reallocated our $1.7M portfolio between a traditional IRA and a brokerage account. My favorite Churchill quote when he was encouraging the U.S. to help when they were being bombed by the Germans was - "Americans can always be depended upon to do the right thing, after they have exhausted every other possibility". It's as true today as it was in the 1943.

I always love the fact that, Canada always ignored,, the merchant navy that moved tons of food, arms, oil etc. That the soldiers of Canada, Australia, and other colonies had fought and died in 1WW,long before the US came in without your colonies, the UK might not have been a place to lead any WW2 flight against Hitler's Nazis. Just saying 🇨🇦

People here in the United Kingdom have heard about the bravery and utterly brilliant soldiering of the rest of the empire and as a child I never tired of hearing about men I thought must have been so incredibly brave to fight against the Nazis because on paper they were better than us but Canadian people are well thought of here along with the rest of the commonwealth and like I said as children we would be very happy to hear that Canadian soldiers were amongst the very best in the world and we are lucky to have them as friends

Also he was very in love with a woman called Elizabeth. She loved him as a friend and I believe helped him with a slight speech impediment. She would not Marry him hence Clemmy not his first choice. I admire him greatly . No one is perfect but he was close.

I can't say I am a fan. Yes, he led Britain through WWII, but I understand why they booted him immediately after. The British had their food rationed until the late 1950s and Churchill did not support the social programs the country needed to get back on its feet and remain there. He was a great wartime PM, but would have made a terrible peacetime PM.
