What I love about Amy is she's always playing hard to the crowd even when the room is empty. A real rocker punk performer with stamina, amen.
Saw them at the Iceland Airwaves festival a few weeks ago, Amy is a ball of energy on stage.

Yessss!!! Saw them in Detroit, the energy they all have is insane! Just an amazing show for sure!
@@kevincarlson668 yes, thats the one. Amy is amazing. the kids in the front row are so happy. i love bands with women too. almost every band i listen too as at least female vox. one woman that can rival Amy on stage is Arrow De Wilde of Starcrawler. i saw them 3 times and they amazing live.

The live sound from this studio is just amazing. Not just Amyl, but everything I've every heard on KEXP.
The All them Witches set from 4-5years ago is the best I have seen, and t?here have been heaps.
I have said the same thing for years, the best advice you could give to a new band
these days would be, get yourself into the KEXP studio, it's probably the best way to record your music, in the best sounding way possible.

KEXP is more like the Peel Sessions from 70's 80's, but unlike Peel, there's very little opinion shared by the host/hostess, which is a good thing. IMO ;)
Was on the doc film team when they supported Greenday at the millennium. Just about to go into the pit to check a few things and Amy came up behind me , I turned around and she had the biggest beaming smile on her face , I was in her way , a quick "cheers mate " and I made way . She went on and absolutely killed it . Cant even start to explain her energy , like mentos and cola nuclear grade AAA+ hectic. Punk rock is alive and well in this band and Amy as pure as at its source .
I’m so happy KEXP exists. The world needs to head what y’all serve. Thanks for showcasing such amazing artists!

@@soniap1217 I'm 40, and honestly I felt like the legitimate stuff was actually over when I came of age. It was kind of like when my older sister was listening to cool music it was actually cool, and in my hayday it was like kind of like I was surviving in the ruins of cool music. This stuff has the energy of the shit my sister was listening too.

You can really tell that Cheryl genuinely likes the music. Music in general. She’s such a treasure. Comfortable presenting and interviewing performers of all sorts of genres. Quickly disarming and putting at ease even the most necessarily eccentric tough while fragile , artistic souls.
The way she dominates the stage, the energy she radiates. She's fucking amazing🙃😢
She's just...idk. turned all the way on. It's so fun to watch her perform.

You can really tell that Cheryl truly likes the band and it's so dang wholesome.
I havent come across anybody that doesnt love this band. Th3 Sniffers are pure class.
I wish the industry could have as much integrity as these guys do. I hope they never loose it.
Saw them live recently supporting Smashing Pumpkins. They blew me away. Amy is the last of the energiser bunnies and epitomises what live music is all about. Punk’s not dead 😀

Meh, there is definitely better. Just sounds like they're emulating the late 70s. Not fresh or innovative. Been done before. The singer doesn't have much charisma too. Maybe a true live show would be better. I could take it or leave it. Perhaps a good opening act..
I love the dynamics and intensity of this band. I also dig how they're so in-tuned to each other both musically and personally, that you can really hear it in their music.
Amazing band. Fantastic energy, imagine having to go on stage after them. She owns the stage. And those lyrics - so different and brilliant. This band is a force.

I think her lyrics on the Comfort To Me album are top tier. Her phrasing is perfect and she's tackling subjects with both seriousness and humour often in the same song

They’re a fave of mine for this reason. The son is are fantastic, but the lyrics are just as good in many cases.

Very reminiscent of quite a few 70s & 80s Aussie pub rock bands, some also got lumped into the punk basket too, it doesn’t really matter what they’re labelled as really

Very exciting band to see come forward from the durge. Great hints of early punk and rock make this a fantastic magnet for an older fan. Captivating performances and lyrics that make you smile, laugh, relate to and join in. 🤘🤘🤘🙌👏👏wicked!!!!!

Punk`s not dead!
Amy is a fantastic lyricist as well as being an explosive ball of of a performer. As an old bloke the first time I saw them I though there’s something going on there, then the tracks like covered in Angels appeared Ind I was enthralled at the idea of philosophical punk lyrics. Amy exposes her inner self and strengths and weaknesses in her work. The band musically work very well together. And I reckon they’re the best thing out of Australia since the Saints.
Such a great band!! Amy is always so awesome speaking too. Captivating.
When she speaks you can see how hyperactive she must be all the time. Glad she has an outlet for that via music!
She's legit in every way! I haven't heard legit authentic Punk in a long time, and I was starting to think I never would. They sound like they're from a lost era. I dig it!
These guys are so badass. I was lucky enough to see them open for King Giz in Portland a few years ago. My buddies drove out from Minnesota to visit me, and we dosed some powerful acid and went to that show. Seeeeeeerious business.
This band is beyond awesome. Nothing digital just pure raw energy. Amy is a force of nature. A straightjacket could not contain her! She is something else. What a band. Another fine Aussie export and we are all grateful, mates. And of course, thank YOU, KEXP.
I love how she walks in a circle gearing herself up before they start. She's getting in the mindset, and it's awesome!

That's if it had to go out over the 'airways' . . F.C.C. licsensing is strict , sometimes coming with large penalties which are not worth risking .
A child or someone not wishing to hear may encounter the content , perhaps by accident just flipping around the dial .
I am in no way a prude , however , I am glad that these rules are in place to protect unwilling or unsuspecting listeners . 🕊 ❤

Funny if that was true. Not that traditional of a punk band. Like this KEXP interview, the interviewer pretends to know the band. This was the most subdued performance of Amyl. They are still the high energy (not controlled) raging stage performers today…amyl is one of the best live shows today, this KEXP performance does not represent them.

KEXP is on par with Tiny Desk in live recordings. Really great!
I think much better than Tiny Desk, which is more aimed at capturing a stripped back, more retrained and semi-“unplugged” essence and emphasizing the songwriting. I much prefer how KEXP captures the intensity and energy of a band’s live performance but with the mixing and overall sound quality of a studio.

I've been following this band for about two years now and they never disappoint, even performing before no live audience. If you've never seen them before, this performance by Amy was pretty retrained.
What an awesome band!
Saw this band live back in 2019 as opener for King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard, felt like a weird choice as support except for both bands being VERY difficult to imagine coming from anywhere else than Australia, extremely entertaining in any case.
The more Weird combinations the better 😅
@@aswinsa7281 yeah I would probably never have heard of Amyl otherwise... I guess King Gizz are this generation's Hawkwind in being a band that somehow manages to appeal to both hippies, metalheads and punks at the same time

I have been listening to this performance over and over again since I first stumbled across this band three days ago! It’s absolutely extraordinary, I can compare their energy only to AC/DC if we talking Aussie bands. As a Sydneysider I could tell straight away that this band is from Melbourne, it can’t be our glamorous-so-to-speak nowadays Sydney and sure thing, when I checked where are this incredible band from, it was Melbourne! Can’t wait to see them live and slam within the crowd 😅
