  • The African Country Where Women Are King is a video where I speak to some of the most powerful women in Botswana who share their journey on how they made it to the top. They also share their insight about how women play a crucial role in leadership in Botswana and how they have turned the country around from one of the poorest African nations to currently the fastest-growing economy in Africa.
The goal of this video is to inspire more women across Africa to take their place in the leadership of African nations and help to steer us in the right direction. Hope you enjoyed the video, please hit the like button and subscribe if you aren't already.

Thank you for this video! My parents are from Sierra Leone and I grew up with my dad abusing my mother. When I would defend my mom against my dad, she would tell me "that is not how a woman should act" but these women here show me you can be strong, decisive and feminine. We need all Africans to contribute to the betterment and prosperity of the continent. The time is now for African women to rise and for men to be supportive of, not seek to destroy or harm them.

I have always believed that they day Nigerians abandon the mindset of patriarchy that was forced upon them by the British and all these Abrahamic religions and encourage more women in leadership is the day the will see that country start to transform. Many African societies pre colonialism was built around a dual leadership structure, we had powerful Queens and Kings that ruled together. I will definitely be visiting Botswana this year and looking forward to immersing myself with these beautiful people.

We definitely need a lot of women in Nigerian leadership. Despite the benefit, the corrupt system tends to frustrate those that try to come up. I almost cried when i saw a video of a woman in the senate meeting speaking passionately on how her efforts were being frustrated by her colleagues, including the speaker (or the person listening to her petition that day) who took bribe to dismiss the case tendered by her. We cannot continue this downward spiral of decadence as it is affecting us negatively in all aspects of the Nigerian economy and living standards. If not for the late Mrs Dora, our pharmaceutical sector would have been in shambles. She held a fight against fake drugs and fake consumables in the country. These are some of the mindset that women can bring to leadership in terms of empathy, to help develop policies that would benefit the country at large.

You mentioned Late Dora Akunyili, See Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Head of WTO, Funke Adetiba, Oby Ezekwesili, Funke Felix-Adejumo, Chimamanda Adichie, Folorunsho Alakija; these are NIGERIAN women holding sway across the World where there's a level playing ground for them.

8:09 Ke a leboga (thank you). You are apot on. As South African Morswana woman. I am in leadersip at work. Thanks to my strong Father and Mother. All my sisters are also academics . They tought us that women are kings, builders, work hard, love fellow men, help out, marriage must never be our goal in life. Above all love God with all our hearts❤❤

How can you be a believer in God and at the same time say marriage must not be a goal in life? I am not criticizing because I am the same but I do not believe in God despite my moniker. Just want to understand how that works.

Tayo, you had such a great transformation in this TH-cam space, I’m so proud that you pick topics and stories of Africa to shine an inspiring light into our uniqueness as a continent. One day Africa will unite and form a formidable alliance of strength, partnership and progress that will be envious of other continents. Stories like yours are moving is closer. Keep it up
