@@TayoAinaFilms Good day Boss, trust you are doing great?? Do you edit your video by yourself or you pay someone to do it for you?? If you do, can you recommend where I can learn video editing
Exactly! The Portuguese were one of the first Europeans to trade around coastal west Africa in the 15th century and Lagos, Nigeria was established as a trading post. After that the British which was a stronger naval power than Portugal took it over and the trade in slaves began. Unfortunately as Nigerians are not taught history they are ignorant of this basic history.
I was equally surprised to discover LAGOS, Portugal on our motorcycle tour through Portugal. It was obvious to me the connection with our own Lagos in Nigeria. But that ends only with the name and the location (sharing the Atlantic Ocean). We enjoyed it so much we’re considering moving there… Thanks for this amazing video. It’s given us even more of a desire to return!
I loved the clever way you asked people to subscribe. I'm a longtime subscriber. Love your cinematography. You are not a TH-camr, but a filmmaker or a maker of documentaries.
Really enjoyed this. Visited Lagos like three years ago from Germany and we loved it so much. My Jamaican German family felt right at home. Also loved Madeira the Portugese Island and we just got back from Lisbon some weeks ago.
@Tayo, I've been watching you for a Long time. However I notice you've most likely changed videographer recently. The video is way too fast paced. This is not tiktok. I don't want to switch clips every literally 3 seconds! How can I take in a beautiful place if my brain isn't even done processing a clip yet and you are already showing the next video?...
Can I be your travel partner my brother Tayo keep up the great work brother. Am originally from the French Caribbean but I live in the UK now but not for long
I see the switch in your thumbnails and I am very impressed well executed to appear. Your videos are absolutely educative and informative. Keep up the good work. Cheers🎉
Portugal despite her current status in global politics is a country i respect and admire a lot because of the leading role it played during the age of discovery and exploration. The small nation of Portugal was once a very influential country and the influence still stands till date. The Portuguese due to geographic resemblance imported Portuguese name for two Yoruba waterfront towns. Eko was named after Lagos while Ajase (Porto-Novo; meaning New Porto in English) was named after Porto. As original Yoruba boy, i would also like to visit Eko and Ajase in Portugal to compare and contrast
Lagos is a good place for vacation. In the Summer is good especially for rest but like 5+ years ago was better and got more movement in the summer. Algarve is the favorite holiday destination for the Portuguese despite the recent years prices have increased. I recommend you to come to Setúbal, near Lisbon for 1 day is very good.
I'm Nigerian and I knew about this city. The Portuguese actually named Lagos Nigeria after this place
Duh
Congratulations
Why the sarcasm?
Lagos, Portugal looks dope! I like the rock formations. It’s the “French kiss” for me. 😅
🤣🤣🤣 Thanks for watching brother !!
All hail the best Nigeria TH-camrs. You two inspire us to do more!

I've been to "Legoos," wouldn't mind visiting "Laagos" 😅
That's the original city with the name. The Nigerian city of Lagos was named by the Portuguese after the one in Portugal
Wow. I never knew that. Thanks for sharing.
Are u serious? Haven't heard this before
yep that's true, you'd be surprised a lot of people do not know this
Do Nigerian students study history. The Portuguese did trade a lot in Africa.
