Custom barrel makers hand-lap their barrels before they're fitted to a new/old action. A piece of information many people don't understand. Those barrels take less breaking in than standard factory barrels , and don't foul as easily. I do a mix of target shooting and game hunting, the time spent in preparation reaps satisfying rewards !!!

Sorry for the delayed response, I was at a tournament this weekend. 100% agree with what you typed. I mentioned something very close to this at the 8:30 mark. Thanks for taking the time to comment.

Yes. Defiance Tenacity Medium Length Action. A full description of the rifle is in my latest video Precision Ladder. It is the test rifle at the end of the video. Thanks

You have given good, common sense information and everyone has differing opinions - for myself I break in all barrels the 1 shot and clean first 10 shots, 2 and clean, 3 and clean, 5 and clean, 10,20 .., after that depends on the use - match or hunting, practice etc.., it is a pain but other than a sighter I have never felt or seen the need of a "fouler".

Much appreciate that you take as an unbiased and rational approach as reasonably possible. Concluding with your personal preference vs. the absolute position so many other guntubers profess. IMO...Barrels and cars.... I personally drive a car like it's stolen from the get go and shoot my firearms the same. I'm happy with results in both cases.

Thank you for taking the time to comment. I'm just trying to share my experience so that people can take what they like from me and apply it to their current procedures. There are many different ways to skin the same cat. "Drive it like you stole it" HAHAHA Love it. Have a good one.

Initial Cleaning the barrel of a new rifle before the 1st shot? (Not discussing barrel break in, just a good cleaning to get out everything from manufacturing)

Yes, I like to get all the “protectant” out of the barrel and bolt before the heat and pressure if firing bakes it to the steel. Hope that answered your question
