    Great video! I worked for a beekeeper in New Zealand for a season. He had over 600 hives and used all full depth boxes for honey. Seeing that crane attached to your truck made me very jealous as those boxes can weigh up to 60 lbs and hauling them on and off the truck by hand makes a back really hurt!

    • @julieenslow5915
      @julieenslow5915 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I thought the same thing. I tried to make myself feel better by remembering the drones have nothing to contribute - except sperm. Didn't work. I tried to focus on the fact that workers that defend the colony do so at the cost of their own lives most of the time. Didn't help. I reminded myself these are not human males and to stop anthropomorphizing this. Small, tiny help there. Its how this species has developed to give them the best chance at survival - and to mess it up could be disastrous for the species, and to some degree for many other species, humans included. This helped the most. But it still left me feeling sorry for the drones.

    I really enjoy your videos
    I’m surprised the number of subscribers isn’t higher. Sometimes that just takes off especially if the videos are liked and shared.
    It would be interesting to make a quick note of how the titles correlate with the number of views? Etc
    I’m wondering because I believe this can be a source of some income in addition to being super helpful to apiarists everywhere.
    Also I enjoy your entrepreneurial approach and your striving for efficiency and effectiveness for you and your staff and most especially for the bees. Oh yes - and one can’t say often enough how much bee husbandry is really symbiotic and protects our environment.
    Always looking forward to your videos.
    Thank you 🙏

    I was wondering if having lids on the truck you could cap off each stack as it is made then once the row is established you could pull the lids and pull the tarp over them? Also at the honey house do you think that a couple of livestock fans blowing across the entrance might keep the bees from following you?
