    If you are frugal and know exactly what do you need (not exactly the same as what do you want or what others might think, “you need”) this car is perfect as it is

    Always glad when someone is able to review the base trim. One thing really stands out with the Crosstrek base trim over the Forester, Outback, and Ascent is that it gets the tinted privacy glass on the back windows. I would really like to see Subaru use the privacy glass on all their base trim models. Using the twin 7 inch screens instead of the one large 11.6 inch screen has got to be for marketing purposes, I would think there is much of a cost saving to Subaru in using the twin 7 inch screens.

      Subarus are pretty cool! Never thought I would be a Subaru person, but about 5 years ago I discovered their value, safety, and AWD that out performs the Tacomas I use to have in winter, lol.

    Not sure the real reason...U.S. base model and Canadian convenience model have some minor differences. Like roof rails and front heated seats and rim colors.

    How was the back passenger during summer? Without those ac vent in the rear

    • @AutomotiveAnonymous208
      @AutomotiveAnonymous208  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It’s livable just like it’s always been. But it’s definitely better experience if you have vents back there. I think it matters more during the summer than the winter, but they’re nice to have year round.

    My company uses Subaru base models for company cars and I have a 21 forester right now, I get a new one in 24 so I’m debating between the 24 crosstrek or whatever forester is out at the time. the exterior doesn’t look great on the forester base in my opinion, so I’m glad the new crosstreks look more sporty.

    Great review. I am looking for a base model now but they are really hard to find I can find premium and sport all day long but it seems they only get one or two base modules and they don't last. I can't afford much over 25k and the base with nothing or the base impreza is all thier is in awd. I like the height of the crosstreck but like the styling of the impreza more I don't really like the clading but I am getting older and launching myself out of a 5 inch car is alot harder than an 8in clearance. Idk I may have to rent both to decide either way it's going to be a base.

    Got mine about a week ago now. Couldn’t be any happier. 2024 Crosstrek premium 2.0L. I know you did not really complain about power, you just made a comment about it. I don’t know why other car reviewers complain about the power. To me it feels quick enough for what it is… a Subaru Crosstrek. Of course it’s not speedster but it is ENOUGH. Let’s be honest, most Crosstrek drivers are not in a rush to get somewhere. Anyways, good review! I have a Short video of mine on my channel, check it out if you would please!

    • @AutomotiveAnonymous208

    Just picked up mine a few days ago. Can’t connect Apple car play wirelessly, which seems rather odd in 2024. There is also no way to connect an iPhone w/ out buying a converter. Again, in. 2024 when have phone owners use iPhones. Very odd.
    I also pulled into the grocery store this morning. Parked, locked: shopped. Put the groceries in the trunk, hopped in and the steering wheel was locked and the key would not turn. Thankfully I found a video from Patriot Subaru where they guy explained that you need to pull back on the wheel to relive the pressure on the column so you can get the key to turn. Not impressed thus far

    Does the sport mode make the engine more responsive? Just curious. Thanks.

    • @AutomotiveAnonymous208
      @AutomotiveAnonymous208  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yes, it does feel more responsive while driving because it’s basically a “gear” lower than it otherwise would be. So it’s revving slightly higher and in a more aggressive or responsive gear ratio. 🙂

      @@AutomotiveAnonymous208 So in your opinion the standard 2 liter 4 engine should be adequate for the average person who is not "off roading".

    • @AutomotiveAnonymous208
      @AutomotiveAnonymous208  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      It’s adequate for most driving, even off road. It’s deficit in power from the 2.0 is more when you’re driving over a mountain pass or at really high altitude where the engine doesn’t make full power. Or in situations where you need to pass vehicles at speed with limited time to get around them, like on one way highways. Definitely test drive both so that you can feel the difference and make a more personally informed decision. 🙂

      I have a legacy with a 2.0 boxer and it is good on flat roads but forget passing on a hill it tops out and thats it even to the floor. However if you are passing on a flat stretch of road it gets up and goes good. But your not going to win any races thats for sure. But accelerating on an on ramp and on interstates you will be fine.@@kl1958

    The Touch Screen is a Deal Breaker. Give me Traditional Buttons. No Touch Screen or Screens for that matter. My 2006 Vehicle has not Screens and physical buttons. This is a good thing. A Physical Key and Keyed ignition in my opinion is a upgrade from just relying on a Electronic Systems. Why is this only on the Base Model? Having Physical + Electronic systems is more secure then just having electronic systems. The Touch Screen is a huge Failure Point.

    • @mightyoneish1

      Man, you can’t find a new car even a base without screens anymore. They do however give you that stupid auto start/stop feature that I can’t stand.
