It's my first ever comment in the TH-cam or in any other social media sites. The only reason I'm including this in a comment is? I have struggled a lot to write a single SOP. And have seen in many videos even though those videos are providing what to write and what not but those are not organised which makes a huge difference from your video and your content will sort out and open gates for many concerns with SOP and feeling lucky to see the video and thank you for the content provided. And wish you the best to do the best content.
Six Ps of Statement of Purpose 1. Purpose Clearly articulates goals and interests. Answers questions such as: "Why do you want to do graduate study in the first place? Why do you want to pursue this particular degree?" Research Interests? Professional Knowledge? "What do you want to do after you complete this program?" 2. Past Experience What skills or knowledge do you hope to gain from this program? How does your past experience relate to this program? Paper Published? Project? Presentation? Use vivid examples! 3. Program Why this particular university? How does your work/interest connect with the program? How does the program fulfill your needs and interests? Expectations of the program? Methodology? Curriculum? Professor to work with? 4. Personality What makes you unique? 5. Plain English Simple. effective, appropriate words. 6. Process Start early (3-4 months, about July/August). Read sample SOPs. Draft. Rewrite. Follow Directions. Proofread. Get feedback.

Hi Dhiraj, that's a great question. Usually I find that certain programs at specific universities are geared towards start ups and some towards jobs, whereas others are oriented towards continuing research. So to answer your question, it is very important for you to mention your future plans and aspirations, however, if they are aligned to the focus of that program, the university will find you to be a better fit. I really like this video. Many people usually want others to do it for them and that is a very serious mistake. Sometimes it's difficult to comprehend what others write for you than your own piece of writing
I think apart from the accurate description for getting started with an SOP, one can use this video to learn how to present his/her self. I can surely say a lot of people would agree with this. So, in a way this video has given me more than what I needed. Thank you for this video. While I accept the fact that it is advised to not mention information from your Resume in your SOP, it would be more helpful if you could mention how to disclose one's achievements/work experience in an SOP. There may be quite a few instances where we might have to repeat what we mentioned in our Resume. I hope I have stated my doubt clearly🙂
