I love how this game which was made with the idea of being about its large pool of unique heroes to play, actually just has 6 or maybe up to even 8 characters total (depending on the map) you can play (without people bitching), on any given version of the game.

I've found that the move is to play Junker Queen right up until the last 30 seconds of the game, then swap to Zarya and completely roll the enemy team in overtime because they have no idea how to deal with you now that you're not Junker Queen. This strategy has worked in 90% of my matches.
Dude, I've been telling everyone this: Junker Queen is hella fun. The synergy between her skills is honestly beautiful. Like look at this Zen kill at 9:56, that was so clean! The only thing I don't like about her is what she awakens in me...
Shes fun af to play, maybe not the best, but the fun factor tips in her favor. But seriously if you can land the knife you can scare the shit out of people really easy.
Well he's trying to make it work so that he can get charged punches and edge knockoffs that people react to less since they're one-shots for 1-3 people generally, in those situations getting the slam damage isn't that important. He just happens to be practicing doing it even in situations where it would be worse because it's hard to practice in exclusively the optimal situation for it as the opportunity is uncommon. It's not that he doesn't know the slam does damage lol.

I havent met a single person who doesnt like playing Junker Queen, shes designed to be a very fun character, it just takes some knowledge and some character synergies to really get the best out of her, giving her axe swing a short anti heal effect would be the funniest shit ever and Idek that itd be that broken.
When I heard they were doing hero buffs I was hopeful Doom would be one of them. Apparently Blizzard thinks the 2 people who are good at him justifies no buffs...

If you *really* think about her kit, she's actually torbjorn. Both have a shotgun, a speed-boost overheal steroid, a devastating melee weapon, a damage over time ultimate... Yeah, I'm joking. Queen's melee weapon isn't devastating at all.
11:09 the DPS complaining has near exactly half the damage of the tank. Ster's completely right telling him to Shoot Them. I'm so glad they added the scoreboard so it's clear when the strategy's fine and people simply aren't Shooting The Guys, you don't have to take players like this at their word.
He's on a tank with twice their health, that does damage similar to most DPS picks. Against a team that forces them to go hitscan because there's an Echo. On top of Sigma shield & projectile eating. It's not surprising at all that he's out damaging them. It would actually be odd if he wasn't. Judging performance in this game based off stats is one of the single dumbest things players do. Team cohesion doesn't show up on a leaderboard. That said, at that point I'd just swap to mei and focus on charging an ult to kill the enemy tank with. If the team won't adjust, Mei is usually my go to option.

I know, because I've been in that position enough times in OW1 and 2. There's things you can do to adjust as a DPS player. But with a tank that doesn't understand the ebb and flow of fights, or is just heavily out gunned, your options become a lot more restricted. I bring up Tracer because she's easily the best DPS example of this. Tracer has 2 roles in a team that bring huge value that don't track well statistically if the team isn't doing good. The first is targetting the enemy flankers. Fending them off from getting into your backline in the chaos. As one can guess, a Tracer vs Tracer or Tracer vs Genji fight often doesn't end up with a lot of damage or elims. But a stalemate on the flank can literally make or break a team fight depending on map & team composition. Your Widow/Ashe/Ana/Zenyatta aren't going to fare well if a Tracer or Genji are on them. The second is, well. Flanking. Entering into a fight after the chaos has begun and quickly finishing off targets. Now, if you're just absolutely smurfing on a team, you don't need a lot of setup for this. But assuming it's a relatively even skill match between you and the enemy. If your team can't manage to create those opportunities. You just kinda do fuck all other than distract and create chaos. All of this is to say. Stats don't tell you much of shit. While obviously I'm discussing Tracer's role in all of this. The same holds true for other DPS picks, it's just not as instantly obvious because other DPS can start far enough away from a fight while still dealing damage, that their numbers may look "acceptable" statistically. When in reality any numbers they have aren't actually getting any value other than charging support ults or getting a pick after the fight is already lost.
The OW2 ranked experience is that people will blame you for picking junker queen when you outdamage your dps and outheal your supports. Because for some reason, people still cry about others instead of improving their own gameplay.

You can only shield so much with Rein and Sigma, and Zarya only bubbles one or two people at a time. I mean even Winstons deal is jumping into the enemy and disturbing then with a shield. This game isn't a pure "this is better", especially not in soloqueue. Obviously some combos work well together but none of the tanks are dogshit (except doom if you can't play him)

This is a selection of clips, this doesn't represent most of the time you play. People will be toxic sometimes, angry losers tend to play a lot of video games, but you're rarely told to switch like people did in OW2. Also, this is competitive, most people play casual.

I tried tank Doomfist for the first (and only) time last week. I had a blast even though I kept cancelling his abilities early and doing little else. Junker Queen, on the other hand, is the most I've had playing tank since Hook 1.0.
