Here’s my favorite hot chocolate recipe! -milk of choice (I usually only make it for myself so this is all for 1 cup) when I have some on hand I do 1/2 cup of milk, 1/2 cup of chicken broth -maple syrup -splash of vanilla -cocoa powder Heat everything in a sauce pan & stir until well combined Top with homemade beef gelatin marshmallows
I've enjoyed making English muffins for freezer breakfast sandwiches and an wanting to do bagles thanks! I don't know how you so all that in your poncho! I would have a disaster!😅
I like to walk on that wild side. 😆 You’ll enjoy the bagels. That processed partnered well with the timing of the muffins. Thanks for watching, and I’ll see you back soon!
Great video Jill! I definitely going to try to make some bagels at home - you have inspired me! Quick question: do you have a recommendation for a nontoxic bread/loaf pan? I am beginning to make our sandwich bread at home and am looking for the best option - if you have any advice I’d love it! Thanks again for your videos- have a very Merry Christmas!
Ok, this topic is hard for me. I’m currently looking into a Challenger Bread Pan, but hesitant to pull the trigger. 😳 The pans I like best are stoneware from Pampered Chef. I cannot wrap my brain around non-stick options for baking, so I’ve passed up a ton of options. I use a lot of the Pampered Chef stones, and they’re fabulous. The bread pans are no exception. (Not a distributor/ don’t sell, but love those things!) Good luck in your search!
@@BettyLouK-ko1wt I typically use hard white, but I throw in red when my white container is low. For hard wheats, I usually just make it 1:1, so the exact same recipe with the different wheat options. There are occasions that I feel like it’s too dry, and I’ll up the liquids a bit, but I think that’s more based on weather/humidity than anything else. We’ve been using 90% freshly ground for about 2 years now, and we love it. If you’d like texture super similar to traditional AP, then do half of each in your recipe.
You cook and bake like I did when all of my kids were little. I enjoyed this video. That is a pretty handy little machine to make hot chocolate. How long does it take to heat up that milk? If I missed it please forgive me
3 minutes! We’ve used it a LOT this season so far. At first I wasn’t so sure I needed it, but it has a home here for sure. Thank you for the kind words! Hope to see you back soon!
@@thehometownhomesteadit looks so sleek. We are all coffee drinkers except for my husband and one of our daughters. They could whip up hot chocolate in no time.
It is an Ank! It’s a complete workhorse. Here’s the link. I debated on this purchase for a long time, and could never go back to a KA at this point. If you have any questions, let me know. I’ve had great luck shopping with Pleasant Hill Grains. sovrn.co/1y045hc (affiliate link)

How do you adjust for the freshly milled flour and what wheat berries did you use?
