    It will be very helpful for me if u share your body measurement for this cape in this tutorial and also how many yards of fabrics you have taken.thank you

    • @indoorshannon
      @indoorshannon  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The pattern can be drafted based on your own neck measurements and how you would like it to fit, overlap, etc. are you looking for the measurements I specifically used? I used 2 yards of wool, 2 yards of lining. Here is a link to the blog post with written details www.indoorshannon.com/sew-a-simple-chic-cape-sew-along-and-tutorial/

    Thank you for the video. This is exactly what I was looking for.
    I have a question:
    Why did you use 23inches for the collar length (at 7:03) and not 20inches as you decided at the beginning?

    • @indoorshannon
      @indoorshannon  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Great question and I apologize for the confusion. I filmed the beginning much later than the rest of the video and used 20” to demonstrate how I measured around my neck (I should have made sure that matched my pattern I had made months prior 🤦🏼‍♀️). I actually used the 23 inches for my pattern piece so that it would overlap quite a bit and still sit comfortably around my neck. Hope that helps

    I have an existing circle skirt from a dress. The fabric is velvet and would be the perfect cape. Not sure how to make the waist portion small for my neck 😢. Trying to use this video for tips.

    • @indoorshannon
      @indoorshannon  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That sounds like a great upcycle - after creating your pattern from the tutorial, try cutting it out on the existing skirt- hopefully the skirt is large enough to fit your new pattern - hope that helps

    • @l.a.w.79
      @l.a.w.79 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@indoorshannon it’s huge!!!! I didn’t want to take apart the skirt. I just wanted to work on the waist part and make it smaller to go around my neck. I’m having some issues. I know that it can be done. I just have to take my time and consider how much sewing I would have to do on the existing part of the skirt. I wanted to keep the hem of the skirt in place. However, I might have to cut the entire thing.

    Hi! i wanted to make a super duper long one for a halloween costume, and I'm 6'4(tall lady), ideally it would be about a foot or so off the ground. I am really struggling with doing the double fold and getting my pattern right, as the fabric isn't long enough. What would you suggest I do?

    • @indoorshannon
      @indoorshannon  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi there, that would be challenging for that length and width with the full circle. You could just cut two half circles and do a seam in the back or you could use something like a bedsheet for fabric that’s really wide.

    • @tamibeeler5028
      @tamibeeler5028 ปีที่แล้ว

      But in doing that how would you measure for
      The nexk

    • @indoorshannon
      @indoorshannon  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would draft the full circle skirt pattern with neck measurement, then just cut in half, adding in center back seam allowance where you will sew the two panels together-
