She's got a very cutesy personality. She's not necessarily a saint but she had a pureness in her aura, which is probably why she was labelled as the 'good girl'. Nowadays she's way more guarded and you can tell she doesn't trust anyone or let people in, understandably. Amazing that she survived/overcame everything and still standing!!

This interviewer is like close to her age and so it’s like girl talk . She is like way more comfortable, people are not grilling her.
Oh my god I miss this girl so much. 🥺 she was so open and goofy and totally unapologetic .... she just ‘was’. Now she’s so guarded, and it’s of course no wonder based on the treatment that society gave her. It’s so sad, to take an effervescent person like this and dim her light.

She was already so fed up with the image of the good girl that the label gave her! The pressure of doing always the best thing was really high, she couldn't handle it anymore and that's why she had a breakdown in 2007. The signs of it are already in this interview.
I agree! She made one mistake and was hounded by the press for it. She just wanted to show us all that she is just like us and isn't perfect.
Her team probably treated her like a 12 year old girl while she was 20 to 22 years old. No wonder she rebelled and had a nervous breakdown!

Totally. 2003 Britney was already showing signs of what ended up happening in 2007 but how brutal was the change, she was still enjoying her prime in 2003 and then late 2004 to 2006 is when everything started to go down, it's not like 2007 magically happened.
She wasn’t fed up with the good girl image as a teenager. She was annoyed with people seeing her as a child when she was trying to be a grown woman.

I'm three years younger than Britney (b. 1984) and when i was 15/16 i already went to pubs/discos and would drink alcohol when out with friends. It's amazing how society judget Brit for simple things almost all teens does, back then and nowadays. The only difference between us and her it's that we were anonymous young people and she was Britney Spears, so they put that idiotic thing on ragmags and made a big deal about it.
I'm from Spain, and here is totally normal that teens goes to parties and drink, so i never got this whole "Britney goes to clubs and drink!" polemic. It was ridiculous.

These old interviews of her are bittersweet. She came across very mature and grounded; the videos of her now show her talking like a shaky uncertain child 🥺 and she looks exhausted. I know she’s been through a lot. I pray she finds a way to rebuild herself physically and emotionally and spiritually; whatever those freaking drugs did to her brain is very evident. She’s not the same as she used to be.

Oh wow this comment makes a lot of sense and is so well thought out and articulate. It doesn't take too much thought process to see she isn't down on the Christina kiss because it was a girl on girl kiss. It was because she found it weird for some girl who clearly didn't like her & she hadn't seen in years to run up to her in the middle of a crowded nightclub and stick her tongue in her mouth. Kind of an ironic thing for Christina to do considering at this time she was always going on & on about what a true artist she was who abhorred stunts & insincerity. Go back & check the magazines & tv interviews from 1999-2003 - in those four years Britney never had one bad word to say about Christina. When asked about her she would always deny a feud and talk about what an amazing talent she was, how much she loved Stripped, etc. Meanwhile Christina, beginning late 2000, just consistently shaded the hell out of Britney. The subject came up every interview & Christina would also deny a feud but then immediately follow it up w/ a not at all subtle dig by saying how different they are bc she is a "real artist" or mentioning other "fake artists" and reference something Britney had just done as her example. Right at this exact time she gave an interview where she was so bitter & hostile over her exclusion from the kiss moment (which was MTV's fault) by saying Britney & Madonna needed a gimmick for attention and Britney was a lost little girl. Behavior that was pretty typical of Christina up until a few years ago. She could barely give an interview without dissing a fellow female artist - Britney, Beyonce, Pink, Madonna, Mariah, Avril, Gaga...just a few of the ladies that were insulted or demeaned by Ms. Aguilera over the years. Britney beyond took the high road over & over and typically paid her no attention.
And if you think Justin was in the most popular boy band usually on the road with girls throwing themselves at him & the others daily and never cheated then I have a bridge for you to buy. (Spoiler - JC's ex-gf Nikki confirmed a few years ago on Heather McDonald's podcast that JC told her that all the guys cheated on their gfs back then)
