"Hello Class!" Being a teacher myself, you actually are running your channel like a true teacher should. Starting with an "anticipatory set" or attention getter to start. Next, using consistent flow and language, each class being a similar structure, but different content. Next, student participation- using the viewer comments to drive the instruction. And most importantly, engaging and relevant content. Using humor, stories, and other experts in the field to teach ideas. And of course, demonstrating the ideas in context.
    Thank you teacher.

I completely agree on the Derek Trucks reference. I met him when he was 13 playing at a local bar. His dad was his manager. I couldn't believe what I was witnessing. He was born with it. The spirit of Duane lives in him but he took that even further. A stunning musician.

I met Derek working Crossroads backstage in Chicago 2010. A true gentleman. We talked about music and guitars for about 30 minutes. He graciously took a picture with me. How cool is that? A world class player taking time to visit with a teamster loading trucks on the dock.

Hey Tom, I listened on my way to the office this morning as usual and just loved this backing track/progression. I chuckled repeatedly at the multiple F bombs peppered throughout today's class. We all know that Uncle Larry is a sensitive soul...it pains me to hear douchey comments from the viewer comments bin. Thankfully, they don't represent the class. That guy's comment was even more ludicrous than the one early on griping about the Beatles. I appreciate how you share with us, your class. It's like a big ole one room school house where the teacher has to teach all the grades at once and it somehow not only works, it's damn fun! Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

Hey Tom, me and some of my buddies here in Cleveland have been digging your videos since this whole Covid-19 thing started. I had been reading your name on album credits for years (I’m a country fan) and always just assumed that you were just a electric rhythm player (which you are fucking awesome at) but never knew how great of an all around picker that you are. Your lead playing is killer. I have been playing acoustic now for the past 2 yrs gigging little bars with my drummer on my ‘87 D35. When the bars around here got shut down (happy to say they have since opened back up and we’re booking shows again) I have been picking the ol’ tele and LP again. Your approach to rhythm/lead playing has really inspired me to fire up the Marshall tubes again and rock out some electric guitar, so thank you for that, I’ve even went as far as to gig with the whole 5 piece band one night. We all love ya here in CLE and please keep cranking out the killer videos and representing Cleveland the way you do. We’re super proud to have you as a CLE school of hard knocks alumni

You talk so modestly about your homeskoolin' but with your playing and stories you teach me a lot about making music and how this is intertwined with life in general (follow your heart and use your mind, stand for what you believe in, give all you've got and don't give a f%$# sometimes). Judging and diminishing Tom Bukovac's music taste should be considered a sin!
I think there is no coincidence that your vocabulary on guitar is endless, beautiful and sophisticated. It's all of the hours that you put playing the guitar and most importantly the time spent LISTENING to the music that you're sharing with us that made you this legend of a guitar player.
Also, that guitar is just amazing, if I was given the chance to pick one and have one (which I doubt that will ever happen lol) I would go for the same guitar but just with a P90, no birds because I have 3 of the birds tattooed on my arm 😁!! I seriously thank you from the bottom of my heart. These videos are truly inspirng and you sir, are one of my biggest and best influences! Cheers!

Thank you for sharing your skill with us. Thank you for sharing the knowledge only gained from the hard work you’ve done. Thank you for the advice and help avoiding wasteful ambitions in both life and guitar playing.
Because of you, while playing guitar, I’m starting to use my pinky, I use the shoulder of the pick when needed. I’m learning to use the “claw”. Im buying less gear and practicing more and noodling less. I’m getting better and I love it.

Hey Tom, seriously you really need to make an album of guitar instrumentals based on the chord progressions used in Homeskoolin". - you could even use Homeskoolin' as the title. And maybe a couple of the tracks could be "featuring Sarah Buxton". I'd buy it!

Derek Trucks plays notes like he’s reached into the actual soul of the note and asked it if he can expose it’s beauty to world.... and All notes give him permission. Derek Trucks and Tommy Emmanuel are two of the best that i never fully got the hype about until I saw them live. My dad grew up going to Allman Bros concerts and said Dwayne was the best he ever heard. When I took him to see Derek a few years ago he flipped out. He can play one note and make the hair stand up on the back of your neck. Such a rare gift.

Hey Uncle Larry, not sure what is most inspiring to me, your guitar playing, or just how genuine a person you are. You are a no-hype kinda guy...you get what you see kinda guy. That makes what you share all the more valuable in my book.

Tom, this might be my favorite episode so far, full of piss and vinegar and "shut up and play your guitar" playing. Thanks for the E minors to B majors - my friends calls that the "crier" chord. Outstanding friend!

This thing I love about Tom is that he is an utter Badass, a bone crushing master of guitar domination, and he knows it and still remains matter-of-fact about it. He knows he doesn’t need to be modest, but also knows he has nothing to prove. His high school should rename the auditorium for him. To hell with the Wikipedia page! Haha

Derek's solo on Anyway, anyhow on Tiny Desk Concerts is absolutely amazing...the look that Susan gives him after his solo is one of absolute amazement....I've watched it 40000 times & it just screams..

Hey Tom, You are so good! Such an inspiration, that loop is amazing! I've asked you about Sun Valley Id in the past. I am here now, it is nice! Just wanted to say, that lead over that loop is really cool. Thank you!

Hey Tom.....a tip on your old Boogie......if you have any reservation about it's age and want to get it looked at, Mike Bedinelli, who most likely wired that amp when it was new, is still at Mesa. He does the repair/checkup on all the older Mark Series amps. I've sent him 2 of mine and they came back like new. Great amps.

@8:30 I personally dreaded the day youtube comment negativity would attempt to permeate the iron-clad soul of Little Tommy Bukovac. You've got your thing man, a product of your experiences and influences. That has lead you on your own journey, culminating in years of hard work materializing in a legendary session career. For fucks sake, this guy means to call Uncle Larry, the session man, anything but versatile? Your proclivities are not synonymous with your versatility as a player. I've seen you bust out more varying guitar parts than any guitar player that comes to mind right now. If some lonely dude is trying to undermine that by insinuating that you aren't complete enough, then fuck it. Like you said, COVID/social unrest is ravaging our world, more pressing things to worry about. Let's keep this thang rolling and keep the love abound. Take solace in the fact your videos have curbed COVID-depression for many of us. Thanks for keeping this going. Don't let the 2:30AM guy take over, I know him too, my version is a total asshole. Thanks Uncle Larry. All love, Papa Gene
