My home trails have a special place in my heart as I've been riding Rockville for more than 10 years. It was pretty amazing to see Sarah clean obstacles on her first try that took me YEARS to approach.

That place eats pedals and derailleurs! I remember getting into that rut (on the section you get nervous on) and seeing my life flash before my eyes. Macky was right behind me and was equally scared watching. Sarah has got skills!
Nice of you giving Sarah cred Seth, she certainly deserves it after some awesome riding on that rough trail the first time like that! Remember that vid you're referring to pretty vividly. Kind of scared all of us I think! The GoPro effect must have been especially strong in this BKXC vid for some reason since it just didn't come across as the real deal it is..

This is my local trail also, which I just rode yesterday! I know these trails and now I know how great a rider Sara is! The GoPro effect doesn't do it justice, it's harder than it looks in video!

I love this place grew up riding there in the mid/late 90's.
rocky jank and rooty jank are the reasons we buy dual suspension bikes... Count your blessings, you have found a rainbow unicorn.. a nice woman that loves to go mountainbiking.

Thats my entire mindset as well. Not gonna let this terrible situation we are all in get in the way of reaching my max potential and surpassing it! And that goes for every area in life. In fact this crazy time period should be the ultimate wake up call to live life to the fullest!
Ive lost another 20 pounds with my Walking/HiTT routine since the pandemic started around 40/50 pounds in all so far and feel so great. Gonna finally get back into biking soon too so im hyped to push myself to the limit in that area too!

If you get back to the 50 state shred and if you hit Yooper land up here in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan we have barely any cases. Also, if you come back to Marquette you gotta check out Harlow Lake trails !

With the shut down getting to the park at 7am is beneficial. Closing parks does not make much sense. Mtb folks don’t usually take or leave debris. Back at the parking lot you may find a beer bottle or 2.

Hey Brian! If your going to Colorado some great front range trails are flatiorns vista trails for xc and for real trails west magnolia and buffalo creek are incredible.
That "manzanita" was actually a Madrone. Beatiful trees though. That places looks like fun.

Yup in Carson city we use the sheep for the fire abatement. Not so much worry are the sheep, rather the sheep dogs that are guarding the herd, big Burnese since we have mtn. lion and coyote to protect them. My brother has actually been chased off by them.

I just want to go on record saying that when BKXC took me out to Rockville for my first time I didn't fall or crash ONCE. In fact. I'm willing to bet there's NO video footage to prove otherwise. 😂
Prescribed fire would be the best way to reduce the fuel load in the park. You're right that cattle do a lot of damage like horses, to the trails. Goats and sheep do minimal damage but they do remove seedlings of trees like the oaks, and the next generation of trees is eliminated.

I noticed that you haven't found anything to plug up those internal cable holes.
Ballpoint pens are about the same bore/ diameter. Maybe if you disassemble a 'biro', you'll find something to bung that hole?

I enjoy seeing you improve your skills over time at Rockville. How do you manage the poison oak? This is the time of year I have to avoid trails at lower elevations due to it.
Yo dude not sure when you recorded this, but I live 40 south of Chicago in Indiana and yesterday(5-24) it was 90°. Today (5-25) supposed to be mid to upper 80's. Typical Chicago weather 1 week or so of spring then straight into summer
