Never heard of Dave, saw the name, looked him up, watched a few, real cool. Reminds me of old school from the 80’s and 90’s, with none of the BS of today, just straight rap/poetry flow over cool/slick/smooth beats. Great recommendation.

Lmao love that beginning I saw that video from complex and was thinking it sounded somewhat familiar !! Avelino my gosh this is a great song. This is a dope example of an artist understanding and delivering on all basis of a great rap track. The synergy between his flow, delivery, lyrics, hook, and the production was executed really well and I thought that was live man. Shoutout to Avelino and if 9th wonder does watch y'all videos he should just shout you guys out like the guys at MegaDeth did with that one video for twitter which was crazy. Great stuff guys.

You definitely aren't tripping! 9th Wonder clearly took that line and comment from you guys! As far as (fairly) recent metal bands that I think you guys would get a kick out of reviewing, I think Fear Factory would be a great choice. Groundbreaking band that spawned a whole genre, varied vocal delivery, conscious lyrics, and absolutely killer music: intense, groovy, with a huge emphasis on rythm and drums. I recommend the song Self Bias Resistor off the album Demanufacture. Or Zero Signal from the same album. I think it has the potential to be playlist material from what I've seen from you guys. Fun fact: a good chunk of the band collaborated with Cypress Hill on an album. Keep up the fun work!

Yeah, thats why I wanted to start out with Panic Attack, really shows the heavy parts of dream theater well. A very well composed song. I want the to react to all of it of course. Octavarium, CoT, the amazing solo of the best of times, Metropolis. But they arent afraid of making long videos. Maybe Metropolis could be a 150k sub special lol

I actually feel the opposite way. I feel like the epicness of metropolis pt.1(And I'm a bass player, so you know that solo gets to me) could be overwhelming. I love how you put "Style" in quotation marks, cause Dream Theater does so much crazy different stuff, but its all Dream Theater. I definitely feel like you might enjoy Panic attack as a first time DT listener though. Maybe These Walls or As I am could do it? Pull me Under is a good song, and I know a lot of people got into DT because of it. But it's just so limited compared to their other stuff. You got me listening through Images and Words again as well. :D
Why not just add Spirit carries on and the best of times just too add some more ballads and petruccis greatest solo imo.

This. I've enjoyed rap for a long time, but I've not really had a good idea of how to really LISTEN to it, not the same way I do for metal. This has been a great intro, and has opened up stuff I've never heard.

More than just a song together that whole album was a joint project
Lost In Vegas I know what you mean and why you think avelino is on top but there is so many undercover bars that people don't get from wretch. His wordplay is so subtle that you can't get it first time. Even the first fitb that you reacted to, there were so many bars that you guys didn't even realise. If you really want to listen to wretch's wordplay I've said it once and will say it again, wretch 32s 3rd fitb is less conscious than the one with avelino and his wordplay is phenomenal. Wretch's 3rd fire in the booth is the best there is for me so definitely give a reaction.

Sooo many songs to choice from! I bet they will go into it thinking it's gonna be another crazy metal band playing fast....they will be blown away!
Same buddy, Tool is in their own league! 7th grade for me lol, that's pretty funny. I think with the exception of songs like reflections, they could get into any of them. Reflections is like magic song, that's one to just sit back and plug in the headset and chill, still has an epic finish though, like only Tool delivers.
Patients and open mind is needed if you r going to listen to TOOL for the first time and choose reflections. Don't get me wrong, they will love it, it WILL make the playlist, and it WILL open up a whole new level of music for them....but I think they would need to listen to that song with headset or a great audio set up. Just sayin! It's one of my favorite Tool songs ever, hard to replicate it in any way.
