This was fun to watch. There's something about watching a high power twin turbo Lamborghini being built for time attack races rather than straight line drag racing.

Nice driving. Is the Huracan still considered "production car" despite it clearly being modified with canards for more downforce etc? Either way it didn't look like you had a lot of grip..
For this particular event, you only separate the race cars and the road cars. In other situations, the argument would be that this car is built by a company that has gone through the trouble of TÜV certifying a limitied production run of cars with specific mods. It's not just tuned, but a car you can actually buy. So it would be similar to a GT2RS MR.
Hard to tell from that angle and I'm no expert, just played a lot of racing games. Played around with cam angles for clips but it looked like a wide body kit on a German car. Possibly a Benz, Audi or BMW. Like DTM category.

He wasn't clipping all the apexes, I think that car can make the run faster. "Production car" seems like a stretch, maybe the GT2RS holding the previous record was modified too, I don't know. Congrats to the team!
I don't know either, but there are no categories or rules per se as we were only allowed to go up the hill as an exibition run. We are allowed to time it, but it's not official or part of the competition. As for apexes, there are reasons. I hit them where I need to. Of course we could be faster given a few more runs and some tweaks to the car, but we only did six full uns and I had never seen the course before. So getting it perfect in a 1000+bhp car on street tyres on the first try would be a big ask. There's another reason for hitting apexes as well. There was a lot of dirt, gravel and bumps near the edge of the road and I would only loose time going out of the groove made my the other cars. On a hill climb the main thing is too keep the momentum up and carry speed, as no one will get it perfect with that few attempts. The fact that we were the fourth fastest car overall up the hill that weekend in a field of unlimited class race cars says it all imho.
Yes, this vehicle is a limitied edition Zyrus LP1020 Stimolante. The difference between this and any other modified car is that every modification is certified and approved by TÜV. Unlike a modified car with an individual approval, they are approved as a manufacturer, allowing a limited production run and not just a single car, You can actually buy this car from a dealer. As for the hill climb, we were not part of the competition. Our runs were classifed as exibition runs as the car is road legal. It was still a timed run, to show people how fast the car is (4th fastest overall). The previous car to do so was a Porsche GT2RS, who set a 1:51.19.
@@FredrikSoerlie The Porshe is around 300hp less but only around 130kg lighter, the Zyrus is awesome but honestly beating the Porsche for less than 2 sec in an almost 2min sprint is a testament to how good the Porsche is, and that's not a MR Porche which surely will be at least 2sec faster than the regular Porsche, beating the Zyrus. Would be nice to see the Zyrus with increased downforce to fully use the extra power, car is clearly fun to drive but wasn't that race about beating the record? The power was there obviously, but the grip....
Now I wanna see the run of the GT2RS which previously held the record. That thing was RWD and probably didn't have much more power than this Huracan! Edit: For anyone else who's interested, I found it: th-cam.com/video/WlGfEyP3bfU/w-d-xo.html
They are both RWD. As for power, 1090bhp s peak power in perfect conditions. For the Zyrus I reckon 850-950 is a more realistic number. And it is more than 1700kg. It will be faster than the Porsche on some tracks, but the GT2RS is crazy good!
I actually had not seen that myself. I honestly feel that I was pushing a lot harder, but the traction of the Porsche on the exit of the slow corners is insane. It just goes. That time is hard to make up, even tough I brake way later and carry a lot more speed in many places. Hats of to Porsche for building a very fast car.
