  • Tonight I am heading North for work and the only place local to camp is Cannock Chase which happens to be one of the most haunted woods in the UK and tonight also happens to be Halloween. This video took so long to get out as I had an issue downloading the trail cam footage hence the delay.

    The noise at the beginning was a Muntjac deer. The feeder and big water container etc was for feeding pheasants. Having the pheasants around you when camping like this make great early warning systems, because they make one hell of a noise when disturbed.

    • @NoviceWildCamper
      @NoviceWildCamper  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Tell me about it. They didn't shut up along with that muntjac 🤣 yeah a few people have said that now, I had never seen a pheasant feeding area before 👍

    The black thing in the triangle of gates is definitely a “top hat” type pheasant feeder. The water bowser will be for the pheasants too. They will being “looked after” in the woods as there is no doubt a shoot nearby.

    I'd say you may have stumbled onto private land looking at the IBC water tank ,the manola feeder and the crude shelter for young polts ,gives them a little protection from the weather and brown crows ,.
    as for the red lights I have witnessed one of them ,looked like a led in the middle of a tree trunk at 1st light once ,watched it for 5 minutes then just went out I was 20 feet from it ,also a strange fog that lifted outnof a bracken patch and drifted into the wind,and the head of a troll looking thing from about 250 yards away ,only thingnit looked like was the things that look after the bank in Harry potter ,no I wasn't drunk I'm a deer stalker and I operate on private ground not too far from silver trees on the chase ,.
    thanks again great channel 😊

    My first visit was New Year's Day 1976 - orienteering. That night a quarter of the forest was destroyed in a storm. Bad stuff can happen. Before that I was wary of the place because of the murders.
    Weirdest thing I have encountered there was at night when skiing after work. Nearly run down by a kayak. Staffordshire University students were sliding down steep slopes in boats. They were sensible enough to stick a sentry on the path in case of passing weirdos.
    Can be busy at night with "legitimate" activities : orienteering, running, cycling and in Summer listening to the nightjars.

    Ive just came off one of your other videos and cannot believe to see my old area on film! Ive camped in Cannock woods a few times over the 20 odd years ive lived there and its safe to say ive seen some weird things as well. I'd stumbled upon several deer carcases and several deer skeletons, its known for its beautiful natural scenery and at one point there was poachers actually going after the deer to sell their meat which is probably areas id walked through which no one else had for awhile. With camping you tend to go off the beaten track and as a younger guy i walked around 6 miles or so in the chase in which id also found birthday cake wrapped up in a napkin literally inside of a tree, that still freaks me out to this day and makes me wonder if someone had taken their life at that spot. That like you mentioned in your other camping video about getting a shiver up your spine which wasnt normal, that to me was my shiver. Cannock chase is beautiful but still gives me the creeps looking back! Cant believe you visited here. Theres several ghost stories and things in the local area, some sound bizarre but im open to believe after seeing a few things in my years of living here.

Might even be the person who is checking on the Pheasant stuff. . & yes i wouldn't use that stove , if it tipped over ,there's your fire ! bit dangerous for my liking. • @BoxTunnel
    @BoxTunnel 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +15

    I don't usually watch the "spooky" vids as they seem a bit daft, but exceptions are made for good channels!
    My immediate thought on the shelter, IBC (container) and fenced off feeder was pheasants, which others seem to have confirmed below. The barking and lights in the distance could possibly be gamekeepers and/or poachers? However, being a country lad myself, the gamekeepers are usually in the pub at that time of night!
    However, the white thing on the trail cam, no idea and genuinely weird. My first thought was that it was just a falling leaf in the wind or something, but assuming the camera is picking up heat I'm obviously wrong there.
    My scientific conclusion after watching several times is that "greys" from Area 51 are on their holidays doing a bit of pheasant spotting and I'm never going to camp in Cannock Chase!

    You should get yourself some good quality night optics. You'll be able to reassure yourself by having the ability to see what's hanging around, but without showing your own torchlight.
    Add together all the wild campers, weirdos, some sexual meetups, plus the odd stray homeless person, and I bet there are plenty of people in those woods on most nights.
    Personally I wouldn't worry about the people showing torch lights. The ones that might concern me are the people you don't see- who keep themselves hidden and use night optics. In fact, I wonder if the red lights you saw might be infrared emitted from night vision binoculars.

    I have lived about a 5 minute walk from the very south of Cannock chase all my life, have always heard the stories growing up and the “sightings” in the newspapers. I often go for walks with my family up there and drive through it on or regular basis. I have never seen anything myself other than deer jumping out in front of me on the road 😂

    For some reason there appears to be a number of recent “spooky” camp videos getting posted.

      @@NoviceWildCamper do so as ever, there’s a load of depth to your stuff that people can enjoy and learn from.
      I’ve used you as you know as a reference for some gear, and just enjoyed watching someone do what they do well and expend as it goes.
      I am not accusing here but I did suspect that the spooky tag worked and your 130 k sort of makes the case for that.
      I’ll not name the ones I believe who have actively chased the same numbers in that way by creating 50% or so of recent output that way tagged, who I know are not you, thus making one after another recently but they and people who get the same algorithm feed as me may know.
      Fact is YT is a bit of a treadmill when on it and having viewers to grow and feed, so I understand the use … the spooky sh@t just seems a bit artificial to me.
      All the best and sorry if I upset you, it really wasn’t a personal thing or actually specific to you alone. Just cumulative really

    Nice capture.
    Appears to be a light being, and something else I can't make out. Red orbs are often interdimensional beings not in corporeal forms. Generally speaking, the smaller the orb, the smaller the consciousness, so sometimes red can be malevolent, but as you're fairly new to this 4th dimension it could just be slow signs of awareness too, in which case those kinds of orbs will get bigger as your eyes open further with your expanding mind.
    Photographs tend to capture more beings than cameras too btw.

      🤣 that was very PC put forward. Although saying thet we also used to keep dangerous wold animals like big cats in the 60s until a law changed banning them and to avoid fines people let them lose hence all the sightings over the years.
