Why replace the mechanical e-unit in Lionel engines with an electronic one instead of repairing the mechanical ones? I have found that the old mechanical e-units are pretty much bullet proof. Maybe it’s just me, I see more problems from my modern trains than I do my postwar stuff. Plus there is something to be said about the noises postwar stuff makes. I’m not sure what you typically see though which is why I’m curious as to choosing mechanical Vs electrical
I found that new e units tend to not have the flexibility that the old e units offered... the split second a voltage drop occurs it goes into neutral...
When we had our son a year ago we bought a pegboard and some little pegboard baskets and hooks etc etc. It is super great for holding all the baby products for diaper changes etc etc. I would highly reccommend it for people who are having new babies in the house. and once your child outgrows it you can remove the pegboard from their bedroom wall and relocate it to a place where you will use it for tools etc.
I bought some O42 tubular track, and most of my stuff wont run on it. So I got O54 track. Better, but still had issues. So now I have O72, which is doing the trick. All of this is O27 type tubular track. I use the tubular track for the floor. A circle of O72 is perfect for tree duty. I am thinking of getting some Menards track with a diameter larger than 72”, for an outside loop. But that is O gauge, not O72, so I’ll need straights as well.
I have a few post war engines from Lionel and some old stations as well. I enjoy restoring them and during these times I am getting a lot of work done. I also have a lot of Legacy and Vision line as well. Awesome video!
I look forward on seeing the repair videos!! Nice Tools! Where is the best place to order train repair parts online during the pandemic?? I need some engine parts for my lionel Chesapeake flyer. I noticed most online train retailers are closed or not shipping,, Train World (Closed) Model Train Stuff (Month Delay ) And Amazon is not shipping some non-essential items (i.e Trains) The only one i see is that says shipping out orders daily/quickly during this pandemic is Trainz.com Their prices seemed to be better anyway and i would like to fix and play with my train by this weekend not a month from now!!
Good job Eric that’s awesome buddy I upload videos my area real trains layout videos be push up many mouths soon check my videos her on the Spokane sub
I have one of those old tinders with the whistle inside. Is there a way to convert it so that its not running all the time and only run with rail sounds?
Hello Eric! I've been watching your videos for quite some time, especially the ones regarding switches and signals from Atlas! By the way, I got a minor issue with my Atlas dwarf signal, and I have tried to fix, but with no luck, and at the same time is kind of embarrassing to me, since it's such a simple problem, but anyway! Look when I throw my Atlas left hand switch to go straight, the signal turns red and the other way around, of course it turns green! I have rewired it, but it doesn't change at all! Why is that? Something else, in a future, I would like to contact the guy who built your great bridge, for the subway sets I have! I want to build a small NYC styled elevated subway bridge! I guess is: www.stainlessunlimited?? But another website pops up? Keep up Your Great Job! Regards!
Sounds like you've got your wires mixed up. Just reverse them if the lights aren't right. I don't think that guy is making bridges anymore, so that's why his website isn't around anymore.
The 2020 Lockdown T-shirts are now sold out. That was quick!

the locomotive restoration reminds me of the UP big boy restoration

The electric e-units are more dependable and don't require regular maintenance like the mechanical e-units do.

Deadbuck73 I agree with you.
Have you ever thought about getting a 3D printer? Might be a nice complement to the hobby

Thank you for the message on Social Distancing. It's great to hear some sanity. (Especially coming out of Georgia!).
Forget the work bench, show us how you make the display case you have those SD 70s in( we won't hold you responsible in case of catastrophic failure)🚂
