The container in the freezer is for ice. The white "shovel" is for picking up the ice. I just got the Fisher Paykel bottom freezer refrigerator (no French doors) without an ice maker, but it includes the ice container with an ice cube tray. I really like the layout, and even though the overall space is supposed to be smaller, it feels like there's a lot of room in the refrigerator. I really like the flexibility of shelf levels. It feels like a solid refrigerator. Hoping it lasts a long time, since it replaced a 23 year-old Maytag refrigerator (which was surprisingly quieter).

I am looking at this model atm to replace our 25 year old Maytag which couldn't be repaired because they don't do the parts anymore.
The repairman told me that Samsung fridges are not good and that they break down a lot. He recommended Fisher and Paykal.

Thanks for the very kind message, and that's really interesting.
I've heard that very same thing online - that the Samsung are complicated to fix too.
That's fascinating that he actually recommended Fisher and Paykel
It's difficult because Samsung is such a recognisable brand... I went to their showroom this week and they said their new fridges compressors are guaranteed for 20 years... but I'm worried about all the other components that are connected to the compressor...
Anyway, thanks again for your comment I really appreciate it.

@@DADDELIVERS I have ended up ordering a bosch instead. Which is arriving tmrw. Read some reviews and bosch products seem really reliable.

Would love to know how that goes, thanks -- are you able to share which model you went for because I've not seen any Bosch fridges yet and they sound really good
      Thanks again

Thank you for this video. I am looking to buy one of these but can’t seem to make up my mind. I hear German products are always the best

      Thanks for the kind comment.
We went for an LG fridge in the end and it's gorgeous.
There were so many comments about Samsung fridges failing and costing a lot to repair! Good luck

You're doing a vs between a fridge worth £1000 compared to £3000? Like comparing a Fiesta to a Ferrari

Yes, thanks. That's the premise for the video
