You are very welcome. I work with www.shopkeeparty.com. Head over to their website as I have live zoom workshops you can learn even more from by actually being a part of it in a real live teaching event. Thanks again
Robert - thanks so much for this demo and others - super informative.. I hear conflicting things about dipping the pencils and block into water , or using a brush on them - even from Derwent folks - That because they dry after wetting, it can form a film . It seems to work for you tho, and seems handy!
Hi J Asisterti, thanks for your comments. One solution to the film build up if you get any, is to wipe of with a slightly damp cloth. This works. I do this periodically anyway to keep my Inktense sticks clean. Enjoy and thanks again
Great video demonstration, I have never heard of Masking Fluid, I am a quilt artist and only paint on fabric, can Masking Fluid be used on cotton or other types of fabric? If it can what brand do you reccomend?
Hi Theresa, I have used masking fluid on stretched canvas but not on fabrics. I've used it on hard board as well and other ridgid surfaces because its easier to rub off. Hope that helps. Thanks for watching.
Thanks for the great demo. It looks like you use the inktense blocks like pastels too - used dry to give textural effects. If left dry like that (without ever adding water), do you use fixative on your painting to prevent smudging? If yes, what do you use please? I assume the wetted Inktense doesn't need any fixative as it's permanent once dry after wetting.
Hi ByChanchala, apologies for the delay in response. Delighted you like the video and found it useful to you. There is no need to spray Inktense pastel after the painting is complete of during actually. The pastel remains in place and unlike conventional soft pastel, doesn't smear. Some artists have sprayed their completed Inktense pastel paintings with gloss, mat or satin varnish and not even put them behind glass. Another option worth considering. Hope all that helps. Hopefully in the new year I will release some more professional films of me in practice so...do keep in touch. Enjoy your art - particularly with Inktense!
Hi there. I use Inktense pastels on a whole variety of paper surfaces - watercolour and textured pastel papers mostly. I don't use mine on canvas but I know you can. In fact, they are often used to dye and colour fabrics too! Best withes with your Inktense creating and thanks for watching.
Hi, all depends on which brand. Derwent create some amazing saturated coloured pencils which are water soluble too - besides inktense. Worth checking them out.
I always wondered how to get the most look on a tree or rock or pier.... do you have to layer it with multi paint I have both the pencils and blocks and graphitint watersolutble pan....but I couldnt achieve the mossy look....do you have a video on how to bring out moss on a structure????? Thanks mikelle art mom👩🎨🎨✍
Hi, I've not created such a specific video as this but many of the techniques shown can be applied to your subjects you want to paint. Personally light washes over each other on rougher papers followed by dry Inktense pencils and blocks work a treat for what you are looking for!
Love this !! Thank You
Many thanks.
So many technics of using different media together, amazing work. Thank you
You are very welcome. Glad to point you in the right direction when combining.

Fantastic+
Thank you and delighted you found the video to your liking and thanks for subscribing.
Im a massive fan of inktense pencils recently got a set and they go supremely well with my india and acrylic inks
Simone that's great to hear. The Inktense sticks will be a great compliment to both of those too.
That's great to hear. They are indeed great to work with as you have discovered.

I used my Inktense Blocks only on watercolor paper. Which surface dit you use? Does it also work with canvas? Thank you for answering.

@@RobertDuttonFineArt thank you very much 😊
Lovely effects.. Are the inktense pencils more pigmented than watercolor pencils?
