The two different types of paper shown are Canson Mi-Tientes Touch 350gsm pastel paper as the A4 Pennine sketch I worked form and for the studio work 200gsm Derwent Cartridge paper pad size A3. you may be interested to know that I have a book out called 'Drawing Dramatic Landscapes' published by Search press which demonstrate throughout different sections of the book the use of Derwent XL Blocks both Charcoal and graphite. There are step by step drawings as well for you to follow with full explanations. If you are interested to know more here is a link to it. This is a promotional video for Derwent - a sample (not full length film) of just what's possible to get you started yourself of what's possible with these amazing products. A 'start to finish' promotion may come later but even then, as several of my paintings can take several days to create, it will be a short concise version in stages. Within the short time frame allocated for this video it would have been impossible to show a start to finish type of film with one painting in mind. Much longer films showing paintings start to finish with techniques are being produced by me all the time. Dewents XL line is surprisingly fun. I use the charcoal and graphite together at times.

I want to try these with figure drawing to get the basic large lines and direction. They look yummy to handle.
